    Ketch 22 trailer

Cool and smart roadside food truck/trailers. Bowens Creek coffee bar/trailer on the same space. We eat here every time we go for walks or bikes in any parts of the Arcadia preserves and trails. Freshwater seafood themed and several options. Gourmet sandwiches. I had the dry-battered walleye on a ciabatta bun with lettuce and homemade remoulade. Wife had the Landlubber vegetarian wrap with hummus. Awning with pleasant seating right along M-22.

We dropped in here after a wonderful visit to the Arcadia Marsh, having heard that it was worth having a meal here. The menu was surprisingly large. We had the fresh Mahi, the Shipwreck (turkey) and the burger. All were fresh and tasty. Fries were good, too.

    Beautiful new trailer

I don't know how to complain about this food truck. Ok, everything looked better than than what I had, and what I had was excellent. The three chefs who entered in this business venture, did right. A beautiful new trailer, a great spot, and real good food. I failed to mention a lot of it too. The burger was outstanding I got a 1/2 lbs one and in all fairness should have, 1/4 lbs woulda been enough, but me eyes were bigger than my stomach. The fried cheese curds were excellent. Best I've ever had. There are some great must haves on the menu, for example fried green tomatoes, mahi sandwich, and Turkey wrap. I look forward to trying this truck again.

Not the best shot but that's the 1/4lb burger with chips.

Great treat right next to the boardwalk at Arcadia Marsh. Nice seating area under the tent for shade or out in the sun. The food was excellent. I had the 1/4 burger which hit the spot. Also tried the fried cheese curds for the table, and others had the chicken strips with fries and the mahi sandwich. Everything is made to order so there's a little bit of a wait but worth it to get everything freshly made. Great food at a great spot. Take a walk on the boardwalk afterwards then head to the ice cream shop next door! Why not? You're on vacation!

This place is new to me and what a great surprise. Are there twice this week. Everything is fresh and it "pops". Tried the BLT, the Ketch, the Shipwreck and the Grilled Ham and Cheese. All were outstanding. We just got carryouts but each time the food travelled well and was more than delicious. The also have sheeting outside the food truck including a tented pavilion with tables. We only Come to Arcadia for a few weeks each summer but I hope they stay. Please patronize!

Acknowledging there's really no other option in Arcadia ... they do a nice job both creating and producing the menu.

We spent a…read morelong weekend in the Manistee area and got a recommendation to eat at The Glenwood which was just a short drive north from where we were. I called for reservations the day before and found that only very early or very late was available. We also were given an option of seating in the restaurant or on the porch. We chose the porch and early reservation. We were seated at a nice table with a view of Portage Lake. We started with wine, (even though we bought copious amounts of wine on our trip, the wine list couldn't be ignored) my wife enjoying a glass of Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc and me a glass of cab. It was recommended we try their Almond Battered Shrimp. This appetizer was served with a cherry mustard sauce that was wonderful. The menu said jumbo shrimp and yes, they were jumbo with that nice "steak like" texture and flavor. For dinner my wife ordered the Whitefish special (Whitefish is on the regular menu but the special preparation was a bit different). This presentation had wilted spinach, onions with a light Parmesan crust. She let me try some and we both agreed this was the best whitefish either of have ever had. I ordered the "Everything Tuna". This was yellowfin tuna with light and dark sesame seeds, poppy seeds. onion, garlic and salt. I ordered it extremely rare (so rare a good vet could resuscitate it) with wasabi. This was a taste sensation. Dinners included broccoli and an excellent salad. The dressing was so good we bought a bottle on the way out. A "loaf" containing four rolls was also included. Our server was Cyrillia and her service was as outstanding as it gets. Often when I'm enjoying service of this calibre, I look around and see if we just got lucky or is everyone getting great service. It seemed that the service standard at The Glenwood is high. On the drive back to our hotel, we tried to come up with restaurants we've enjoyed as much. The list is slim with The Glenwood at or near the top.

Fantastic sandwich and pizza option if you're headed to or from Sleeping Bear Dunes!…read more We came across Shipwreck Cafe after stopping for gas next door on the way to Sleeping Bear Dunes. We wanted a kid friendly option and came in for the pizza, but ended up being blown away by the massive sandwich menu! Don't be discouraged by the line - it moves FAST!!!! The young people at the register and in the kitchen are efficient and so nice!!! We arrived about half an hour before the sign says pizzas are ready, and the lovely man at the register said "sure!" when we asked if we could order a pizza. The menu has something for everyone - Including plenty of vegetarian options (I think they even had a vegan option). I loved my Griffon, and the meat eaters in our group enjoyed the SS Noronic (a BLT) and the Fitzgerald. Our kids devoured their cheese pizza! They also carry Great Lakes Co Chips, which are some of the best potato chips we've ever had. Our sandwiches were all so inventive with delicious, fresh ingredients, amazing condiments, and the most freshly baked "pretzel rolls" ever. If this place wasn't a vacation stop for us, we'd be back all the time! Our kiddos favorite part, bedsides the pizza, were the tiny plastic swords that came in our sandwiches holding them together. When they each wanted one more sword, we went back inside and the staff inside was so used to kids asking for more tiny swords that their response to "May we have two more swords?" Was "Sure! What colors?!" Very different from what the response would have been where we're from. :) We even came back later in the day for the frozen custard!!! All in all, it was a great experience with great food, great service, plenty of outdoor picnic tables under umbrellas, and something for everyone to eat.

Then, you pick up your bag of food at a little window outside, and then find a place to eat outside or take it home or to your hotel or wherever. If you're dining during decent weather, you can take your food to one of the tables located in the plaza. So, now you know how Keeper's Fish Shack works. Hopefully, I've saved you from sounding like a bozo like me, when I said, "This is a to-go order" when you order. Because duh. All of the orders are to-go orders. I ordered the blackened North Pacific Cod Tackle Box. Tackle Boxes come with fries, hush puppies, coleslaw and sauce. The fish was very tender and flaky, and the spices they used were just spicy enough to give it oomph. The hush puppies are a definite must-order, and I say this as a person who has neutral feelings about hush puppies. My husband got the Fried Shrimp Tackle Box, and he said that the shrimp were perfectly fried: not too much batter. They have a kids menu here: your choice of fried cod bites or chicken tenders. We got one of each, and my kids really liked them, especially the cod bites with a little tartar sauce. The kids meals come with apple sauce and fries, but no drink. When you go into the shack to order, look to your right and you'll see refrigerators with lots of different beverages, including local Michigan beer in cans. It was nice to drink a local beer while enjoying our fish meals outside in the plaza. When we visited, the farmers market was happening in that same plaza and there was live music, too. That's the best way to experience fish at the beach, if you ask me.

The food was served quickly and piping hot. I got the fried perch tackle box. I really wanted to add a piece of another fish like blackened mahi mahi, but they declined. With my tackle box and my husband's, the total was upwards of $50. The portions were small, especially the fries for that price. With it being a walk up restaurant, you aren't paying for service. While the food was good, I probably won't make a second trip.
