We've eaten here 3 times now. All really great experiences. Food is really good. Cozy diner feel inside. Breakfast twice and a burger once. Everything is great but the burger was amazing. Between the Lighthouse and Mayfair, Elberta should be called Burgertown. read more

Granted, I only ever order my 2 favorite things (blueberry pancakes and breakfast sandwich) but we regularly bring visitors here and no one has had a complaint. The wait staff are hard working and very friendly. It's small town diner but has a pleasant outdoor dining space (in appropriate weather) and local photography on display inside. I love this place! read more

Small but cute place! The special was asparagus omelet with fresh asparagus! Cinnamon roll pancakes were amazing - so much food! Service was attentive and friendly. read more

Lighthouse Cafe is what you would expect from a smaller diner. The food prices were reasonable and straight to the point menu. After a few days of terrible dining experiences in Michigan I was desperate for editable food. I kept my order simple by ordering eggs, sausage, and pancakes. All of the food was decent. The pancakes were tastier than expected, I believe that had a slight vanilla after taste. The eggs and sausage were good enough for the price. I got used to this blandness of the food in the area so I was prepared with my salt and pepper. I will note that it gets really busy on the weekend. Lighthouse Cafe has ample seating to accommodate solo parties to a larger groups. My group lucked out and got seated right away when we arrived but other groups not even 10 mins later had to wait 10-20 mins. The staff was very friendly even with it being so busy inside. I would recommend Lighthouse Cafe for quick and cheap food. read more

Excellent service and friendly welcoming staff in a cute little building with the option of outdoor seating. We got the asparagus omelette special and the pancake meal with eggs and bacon -- everything was cooked perfectly in my book. Asparagus was fresh with a bit of a crunch. Big plump blueberries. Would definitely recommend! read more

First impressions critical. I knew this place was going to be different when I took the first sip of coffee. It was definitely not the typical food service variety served at most restaurants. It was also my first hint that the food might be next level. It was. It was delicious. Creative twists on traditional dishes. It was so good that we came back the next day. That's when I asked where the coffee was from. Answer: A local coffee company. This place might be small and unassuming, but don't let that stop you from giving it a try. It's now our "go to" restaurant any time we're in town. read more

Loved this little place for a quick filling breakfast on our first day up north! The kids meal was huge!!! Pancakes are massive

We stopped by here on the way back from Empire. The service was very friendly and attentive. They were very busy, but seated us promptly. I had French toast and scrambled eggs. The French toast was scrumptious and the eggs light and fluffy. My wife had a blueberry pancake and it was huge. She could only eat half of it. It was delicious. The best part of the meal was a hash brown scramble that we shared. Very good! This breakfast was the best we had while on vacation. And, it was reasonably priced as well. read more

Still solid after all these years, but I heard its days are numbered bc the owner is retiring. And there's that real estate sign out front and in the window. :-(. Too bad. We love going out for breakfast here. Service is always friendly and efficient. And the food is always good with healthy portions. Hopefully we'll get a chance to come and visit again. read more

The Lighthouse Cafe' is a great location with a lovely deck overlooking the water and views of abundant wildlife. The service staff was gracious and accommodating. The breakfast was good. My bad for not asking about the corned beef hash in the Irish Omelette. I believe it was canned, kind of lifeless. My dining guest did enjoy her breakfast. I ate mine since I was famished. If I had more carefully ordered mane more stars. read more

Good food and a great view of Lake Michigan. Has a nice Yooper vibe on the inside. Good prices

Have dined here multiple times while on vacation and will keep going back. Great outdoor patio on nice weather days. Service is always great and food is excellent with huge portions at reasonable prices. The staff went above and beyond a week ago when we accidentally left a backpack behind. Even though they were closed the next two days they arranged to get it back to us on their day off. They were super gracious and kind. Highly recommend this place. And if there's a wait just play bags/Corn-hole in the yard while you wait! read more

Excellent food and service. This is our "go to" diner. The breakfasts are amazing and the items are priced right. Quaintness of the location, building and patio seating makes it a favorite of the locals. read more

My wife and I arrived at 9:15AM right as the first rush of customers was turning over. We had a short wait to get in, and our order was taken within a couple minutes and our food arrived within 7 minutes. It was very tasty and priced right. It is a older and smaller "throwback" type diner and that added to the charm. We only visit this area every couple/few years, but will not hesitate to make a breakfast trip back. read more

Went here whilst on vacation in Frankfort. It was located eight down the street from our Air BNB so we got there about 30 minutes after they opened and was immediately seated. (Party of 4) The waitress was very polite and quick and our food came out hot. Three of us had omelettes and I had the chicken fried steak. The highlight of the meal was the sausage gravy which was top notch and fresh. The pancakes were also very tasty. Overall it was a well executed breakfast in a small town on the shores of lake Michigan. read more

My wife & I stopped by the Lighthouse Cafe for breakfast while on a weekend getaway, and were so impressed! Marcy greeted us and was just so kind. Regarding the food, it was 5-star! We had the sweet cream pancakes and bacon breakfast burrito. The pancakes were fluffy and so creamy. They just melted in our mouths. My wife said they were quite honestly the best she had ever had. Amazingly well cooked! How did they do that?! The breakfast burritos were the perfect blend of flavors; best I've ever had, & I'm 56! Regarding the service, "Crystal" was friendly & very responsive. What a great find. We highly recommend Lighthouse Cafe. Pete & Becky, Hudsonville, MI read more

Would definitely recommend. Great food, portions, prices, and service. Everyone seemed to know each other in the restaurant, so that was a sweet addition! The absolute best thing about this place is that it is open 7 days a week, rain or shine or snow, year around. This is a big plus in an area of norther lower Michigan which has the majority of its restaurants closed from November through May. Beyond that, the food is basic, good, and inexpensive. A couple of eggs, bacon, hash browns, or an omelet, plus coffee, for two, is around $12. And you get a chance to meet with some locals. In you are in or around Benzie County, a good, solid, simple breakfast place. read more

We were recently in Northern Michigan for vacation and my dad suggested The Lighthouse Cafe so we decided to give it a try. This is not just an ordinary small town cafe. This is one of the best breakfast place I've ever been to and my boyfriend agrees. He wanted to come back for more every morning! And with the prices being so affordable we did end up eating breakfast there quite often. I am really picky about my eggs being cooked just right so I'm usually hesitant to order them at a restaurant. But I was on vacation so I decided to live a little and order eggs over medium. I am very particular because I like the yolk runny but the whites have to be cooked thoroughly. My eggs came out perfect! I was very pleased. My boyfriend ordered an omelette with country gravy and could not stop talking about it all day. The service was great! I can not say one negative thing about this place. read more
