This company bailed on our project in the middle of it. They did the first round of testing. More remediation was done and when it came time to retest they said they could not help us and suggested we find another company. read more

Kester Clear is supposed to be a top rated mold testing company. We talked to them about our ERMI on Nov 26th and had them out to do a full inspection on Dec 4th, which is when we paid them $1800. We got our report back last week and they told us one of the samples needed to be retested and said they'd call us on Monday, which they didn't and they didn't respond to any of our messages. We understand that people take time off around the holidays but if you tell your client you're going to do something, you need to follow through. The soonest we can get our report interpreted is January 22nd. We have no idea when they are coming out to resample and how long that will take. If we had it to do over again, we'd recommend working with a company that has better communication and more timely responses. read more

Jason and Pam at Kester Clear Environmental Solutions are wonderful people! We received their help during a very difficult and fast paced home buying process. They took their time with us and were very responsive. It has been almost two years since they helped us and I think about how much I appreciate what they did for us on a daily basis. I wish everyone had access to such professional and knowledgeable help during a home buying/renovation process. Highly recommended! read more

Jason is a true professional. Everything about his operation is top notch. His whole house, 4 hours inspection was very thorough and he spent a lot of time explaining his findings and their implications. He created a thorough treatment plan for our mold/mycotoxin situation. He continued to support us and provide information to us, after our inspection was over, as we worked through mitigation/remediation and our insurance co. Choosing Jason to do our whole house inspection was money well spent. We couldn't be happier with the service. Jason apparently has established a name for himself in the medical and naturopathic communities. I actually had 2 different doctors who were not affiliated with each other (one in Portland OR and one in Bellevue WA), recommend him. They both were clear with us that Jason was the only one they trusted to effectively do this kind of specialized work. I feel the same way, too now! read more

Jason's partner Omie spent over 5 hours at our home. He thoroughly inspected our home from top to bottom. He not only uncovered the source of mold, but numerous other maintenance issues that could lead to problems down the road. After his inspection, he took the time to go over his findings and answered all of our questions. The 17 page inspection report was clear about each issue and included recommendations for remediation including what we could do ourselves. A few weeks after receiving the report, Jason spent an hour on the phone with us and went over the written report. He was very thorough and very helpful. We will be using them to do the post remediation inspection. We have been impressed with their customer service and quality of service and recommend them highly. read more

Jason and his associate overall did a good job, and seem to know their stuff. They did a good job exploring mold issues and potential issues, inside the house and outside, even down in the crawl space. Even used a small drone to check out the roof. The reason I only gave 3 stars is that they abandoned us during the clean up phase. By that I mean, after they told us their overview, we went to work cleaning and following their advice, but they were totally unavailable for followup questions during some very delicate cleanup. He never answered any of our questions for 2 weeks, except he did respond to one question about a filter system he recommends, which he makes a small profit from. He finally sent us the complete report over two weeks later, and as yet has not sent us the names of the two remediation companies he recommends, so we have been on our own. read more

Jason is awesome. Does a great job and he's all-around good guy. He tested my existing townhouse for mold about a year ago and he helped me assess a new house I ended up purchasing. He goes above and beyond and really knows his stuff. read more

We were concerned about a mold/mycotoxin problem in our apartment and my doctor referred us to Kester Clear. From our first interaction over the phone, Jason was helpful in explaining how we should remediate our belongings and things to think about, even before hiring him. Buy EC3 solution and the laundry additive! He squeezed us into his busy schedule and on the day he arrived to assess, he answered our questions, took multiple mold samples, and assessed the environmental reading of possible mycotoxins. We were blown away upon seeing the relative moisture reading via Jason's instrument as well as water damage on our bedroom wall detected by his infrared camera. A week after the visit, Jason sent us a detailed report that included the mold results as well as a summary of findings and recommendations. If you have a mold problem, Jason will help you get on the right path to remediation and peace of mind. read more

This is a review for the highest praise of Jason Kester. Jason has helped me and my husband out twice now. When my doctor suggested that Jason was he best in the field to come out and check my house for water damage and mold, we brought him down to Southern Oregon as soon as we could get him out. I have lived in water damaged buildings which caused some chronic health problems and having some new health problems and needed to know that my house was okay (or not). Our house did end up to be okay, but when sold our house a year later to move closer to town, all we could find was a rental that would fit our needs. It was an old house and I saw some rings on the ceiling that indicated old water leaks. I had been told that the roof had leaked in the past but had been fixed. To allay my fears, I called Jason, and he responded quickly, even though he was in a class all week long all day long. He gave me suggestions and educated me over the phone and was VERY PATIENT with my questions and my fears. When the rental ended up having water in the walls, my husband and I got lucky and found the house of our dreams just up for sale. It is a 1959 house, and had just been painted beautifully inside and with a new roof up. The problem with the new paint is that I would not be able to see rings on the ceiling, and the house smelled only of paint. We had to be out of our house that sold in two and a half weeks and Jason was not going to be able to get down to inspect our house before the end of our inspection period for committing to purchase the house. Again, Jason was PATIENT and HELPFUL beyond words. He told us what to look for, and suggested the ERMI mold testing that I could send off with just a wipe down of the surface areas of the house. We waited for the results of this test to come back which was during our inspection period and again, when super busy and in class five days a week, Jason took the time to go over the results with me. All worked out wonderfully and we are now happy and in our new home, dry and odor free and paint smell gone. I can not thank Jason enough or recommend him more highly. He is kind, generous, full of integrity and knows his field. My greatest thanks to him for helping us through a very stressful time. read more

Unfortunately, I am very disappointed because my doctor referred me to Kester Clear. I had an email communication with them about the details of the work and pricing and they replied in minutes. Then I asked if I could make a part of payment now and the rest - next month, and Jason stopped replying to me. I sent another email next morning, and no reply. I felt that I cannot trust company who disappeared like this. I emailed them saying about it and within seconds Jason replied 'good luck' with hiring another company. Later that day I received an email from Pam saying that I need to go to the sun and take care of myself so I am not upset with them anymore. Will never recommend this company to anyone. read more

After we had water damage in our house, I called Kester Clear Environmental Services to inspect our crawlspace for mold. After crawling through our entire crawlspace, Jason found a suspicious area and took a sample for testing. The sample came back positive for mold spores and Jason prepared a detailed report which included recommendations on how best to remove the mold and pinpointed the problem area in the report so that our contractor knew exactly where the affected area was. Jason was prompt for our scheduled appointment and I would definitely recommend him. read more

I am extremely mold and chemically sensitive, and Jason came recommended by a few members of an active mold group on Facebook as well as a Seattle naturopath who works with people with mold illness. I recently hired him to inspect a potential rental home my husband and I were considering signing a lease on. Jason knew we were on a time crunch and made time to drive to Bellingham for us. He was friendly and patient with all of my questions, and with my following him around the inspection process so I could learn what he was doing. He explained to us upfront that he could only help identify a problem to a certain extent, meaning, he was non-intrusive to the site and didn't pull off baseboards or walls etc. He did a thorough visual inspection, did ERMI testing, and used a (non-probed) moisture meter and a thermal temp reader to detect possible moisture issues inside the walls. His inspection appeared thorough through the entirety of the home, including crawl space and attic and, as a perk, we learned about issues unrelated to mold which he told us about (ie; rats). Both before and after the inspection he gave me generous time on the phone answering all of my questions. I appreciate that there are people out there like Jason who can help me gather more data in terms of decision making for our housing. read more

I cannot recommend Kester Clear highly enough. Jason was incredibly accessible, informative, and supportive when I hired him to perform an inspection of the moldy home I was living in. He spent what probably amounts to several hours on the phone with me, coaching me through this nightmarish process. He squeezed in my appointment last minute and on a Saturday. He also shared the results of his report directly with my doctor, participated in a phone consultation with my third party consultant, and was available by text, email, and phone to answer all of my questions. His report was thorough, clear, and invaluable. Thank you, Jason. read more

Jason has been invaluable to me as I've navigated recovery from toxic mold poisoning, relocating, and identifying a safe space to live. He functions as more than an inspector - he works closely with physicians, understands the health implications of biotoxins and the need for careful analysis, and is a wonderful person to work with. He goes above and beyond for his clients and truly cares, which is everything when your health is in jeopardy. I couldn't recommend him more highly. read more
