Very unpleasant and repeatedly contradicted the explanation of benefits we received from our insurance (confirmed in written and oral form) which the practice is bound to abide by as part of the network agreement. They wanted us to pay the full price tag for our daughter's wisdom teeth extraction and deal directly with Anthem for reimbursement afterwards, even though they are listed as an "in network" provider. Not wanting to pay $1,400 more than the amount the insurance confirmed we should pay (Approved Amount), we had to cancel the procedure.

From the start, he made my son feel very comfortable during the entire procedure. He even introduced himself as "Phil," gave my son multiple fist bumps, and offered lots of praise and encouragement. We had previously seen another endodontist who told us he wouldn't be able to perform the root canal because my son was "too wiggly" and suggested IV sedation. Dr. Mascia, however, was able to successfully complete the procedure using just Novocain and nitrous oxide. That meant so much to us. The entire staff was incredibly friendly, patient, and caring. The people in reception could not have been more personable or helpful. The rest of the staff, including the nurses/dental assistants went out of their way to make me feel relaxed and comfortable. I was taken in within 5 minutes of my scheduled appoint and out within an hour with two teeth out and a bone graft in. As for bedside manner, or more accurately chair side manner, I don't know how anyone could ask for more. He put me at easy, did what he had to do without causing any undo discomfort and explained everything as he went along. Bottom line, I've had dental cleanings at my regular dentist that were more uncomfortable than what Dr. Cuomo did today. And I was so dreading my visit. My experience with their practice was disappointing. The office works are very nice and easy to…read morework with. But the dentist was to me misleading when it came to the costs. First I was told the full mouth X rays are covered by my insurance (they were not). Then the estimate for the root canal and how the amount the insurance would cover was wrong. Then the extraction costs were higher due to difficulty, which it did not seem to be. Finally I paid the bill at the end and put it behind me. Now one year later I receive a text that I owe another $540 and will be sent to collection if not paid. When I asked the reason for the additional cost the answer was not satisfactory. The best part about it all, is the tooth feels loose and I don't feel comfortable using that side. If you know a good dentist please tell me.
