I cannot say enough wonderful comments about Dr. Richard Amato.s Advanced Periodontal service and…read morestaff. I go to Dr' Amato for all of my dental care. I have always had traumatic emotionally painful experiences since childhood with dental care and now I actually smile and am happy to see my dental care providers. His state of the art equipment is a very lucky find here in Monroe CT, only found perhaps if you had to travel to NYC. Dr. Amato is the best!!!

I guess a picture is worth 1000 words in this case. I had surgery on that day, and told to come back next week to check on the healing. 06/24 was told everything look fine, come back in 3 weeks. However, I pointed out, my gum line is uneven. Doc and nurse said need to wait at least 3-4 weeks before they can do anything. They assure me it will look even. 07/18 Dr. Amato decided to laser the gum line a little bit, so they will look even, it was about 2mm difference at that time. If I smile, you can definitely tell the difference. It was a very quick procedure. During the procedure, Dr. Amato checked with his nurse , he said " do you think I should do a little more? ", He also asked me that question. I was pretty confused , I am not professional. I left office , I sat in my car, I looked into my mirror, I was like, maybe he should laser a little bit more. I went back in the office, spoke to his nurse, I said since I am still numb, do you think we could laser a little bit more. She told me, it was not necessary, if it is still uneven, they will fix it next time. don't worry about it. Today, 08/12, another 3 weeks went by, my gum line is still uneven. Dr. Amato told me, first, he does not have time to fix my gum line, second , if I do want my gum line fixed, I need to pay $1000+ to fix it. Yes, I had small teeth before , now I have bigger teeth and uneven gum line, so if you are looking for a periodontics, would you go with this office?

I have had five other crowns over the years with other dental practices and never had a problem with those crowns. the crown from Vaughn was very bulky and not smooth. I am saving my money so I can go to another place and get another crown made.

And the masks can only be the result of these assistants being so embarrassed to work here they have to hide their faces. None of them I interacted with seemed happy to be working at this place. My issue isn't with the dentist or their assistants, it's with the administrative portion of this business. I was a new patient and went here in June 2025 to have an upper partial denture made for my missing #10 tooth. I was given a pre treatment estimate. The problem starts here. The staff never checked with or called my insurance company to verify the coverage. They had my insurance card and information yet they didn't take the 5 minutes to verify the coverage. I paid the amount they said I owed only to find my insurance (UHC) did not cover the particular procedure code (D5820) they submitted the claim under. Why did they use a code for an interim partial denture when it is supposed to be permanent? I spent at least a day of my time trying to convince them through phone calls and speaking to a manager and visiting the location and speaking to their people to resubmit the procedure to UHC using code D5211. Vaughn is a Network Provider and is part of the UHC network and did not even bother to do the due diligence of contacting UHC to verify the coverage. Bottom line, is I am not paying them a cent more than what I already paid them for this partial denture. Also, because I paid my UHC deductible when I paid for this partial denture, UHC did not recognize that fact because the entire claim was denied, so when I had what was left of tooth #10 extracted to make way for the partial denture, Vaughn also shows I owe $50 more than what I already paid them for the extraction. You can't make this stuff up.
