With my next call to another doctor for the identical purpose, I was on hold for several minutes, encouraged to leave a voice message, eventually spoke with someone who wanted to transfer me, then didn't, the only way they would get me a copy was via snail mail or if I came to their office. It was originally done in 2020, and fell off for the first time in 2021. She told me that she was going to have to charge me to re-cement it. (I don't have insurance) I asked how much. After about 10 min of runaround with her & the billing specialist, I was told the charge would be $150! I told her that I would pay it because I have no choice, but that i thought it was ridiculous that I would have to pay that much money to glue a crown back on. (I had a previous crown on a different tooth that lasted me 15+ years without ever coming off!) At that point, she told me that she was not going to put it back on for me because "I don't trust her work"! So, after spending almost 2 hours there, I had to leave without getting the crown put on, at 3pm. She was aware that I was going to NC tomorrow and there's no way I would be able to get in with any other dentist this late in the day. And she actually looked really pleased with herself for refusing to do the work. It was honestly the most unprofessional experience I have ever had at any dental office. I hadn't been into the office for a long time, for personal reasons. She took several opportunities to point that out to me as well. As if that was the reason my crown (which to my understanding is permanent & should not be coming off multiple times) came off. I have a lot of dental issues. I have spent thousands of dollars at this office & have family members that have spent tens of thousands. I actually talked to Dr. V today about finally putting together a plan to get to the bottom of all my issues. And now I have to find another office. I really loved Dr. Wong, but he is there anymore. The rest of the staff in the office are AMAZING & SO KIND!! The office is beautiful, with all the newest technology. There are so many nice things I can say about the office in general. But after today, I will not be returning. The way that Dr. V handled the entire situation was extremely UNPROFESSIONAL & UNETHICAL. I now have to drive to NC without my fragile tooth unprotected and deal with it when I come back. All because the crown that they did has fallen out twice in less than 5 years, and I told her that I felt taken advantage of for being charged $150 for that!!

The warm welcome by the office staff made me feel right at home. Once in the office Dr. Barasz took the time to explain all the details of the procedure and what the process would be. After a lot of decision making I pulled the trigger and got the procedure. It was pretty invasive but Dr. Barasz made sure I was comfortable the whole time and would pause if I wasn't. The staff continued to reach out after the procedure to check in and my mouth has made some dramatic changes since. I needed a gum tissue graft, which I'd had done once before by someone else, and I was dreading it because it was the most uncomfortable dental procedure I'd ever had, and the discomfort lasted for months. When Dr. Vilardi did it, it didn't bother me for one second during or after, I was amazed. His hygienist had my husband on a multistep teeth cleaning routine and I decided to adopt it. The next time my own dentist's hygienist saw my teeth she said she'd rarely seen such an improvement in a patient. (I don't know why every dentist doesn't recommend this routine.) I've had a couple of complicated implants done by Dr. Vilardi and, though I can't compare them to anyone else's work, I've had no problems with them. He won't do it if he doesn't think it's going to work well - I went once hoping to get started on a new implant and he told me the bone wouldn't support it even with bone growth stimulants. (He has a lot of tricks up his sleeve.) I find him to be very direct, so maybe that's why another reviewer interpreted it as lacking compassion. I don't see it that way though. There's no insult in it, he just tells it like it is. I actually appreciate that because I know I'm getting the straight story, positive or negative.

He is very caring, thoughtful, knowledgeable and ethical. He had a very pragmatic and thoughtful recommendation, and described well pros and cons of different approaches to my issue. I trust his opinion wholeheartedly, and he is one of the few professionals I met who will really look out for you. It is not easy these days, in my experience, to find an excellent professional who does not upsell/ recommend expensive procedures you don't really need. Dr. Scheweiss is that rare find!
