I wish I had read the reviews here, nearly all negative, before booking an appointment…read more The following is an email that I have now twice sent to the practice. They have not responded. Perhaps posting this on a rating site might stir them to respond. At least, it might prevent some person from undergoing the same bad experience that I have had from this practice. To Whom it May Concern: I am writing in response to receiving a bill for $153 on top of the $65 I was forced to pay on 9/3/25 for unspecified services. I had made an appointment for my spouse and myself to be seen at the same time. I had called more than a month previously asking for any day/date, so long as we could be seen at the same time as we live in northwest Litchfield County. I was given the time of 1 pm on 9/3. I was assured that there would be sufficient time for us to be seen by a hygienist and dentist, particularly as this would be our first visit to this facility. I also explained to the scheduler that I have cervical disc herniation, that it is inadvisable for me to be positioned so that my head is lower than my body, and that it therefore takes additional time for me to be correctly positioned for a cleaning/examination. I was assured that I would not be rushed, and that there would be sufficient time to position myself, and that the hygienist/doctor would be so informed. I reiterated that I have herniated cervical discs in the pre-check in forms that were emailed to me. We arrived at 12:50 pm for our appointment. We waited a while and then were taken into our respective examining rooms. I politely asked the name of the hygienist assigned to me, who brusquely responded that I would not be able to correctly pronounce it. I learned after the appointment by looking at your website that she is Janhavi R. Gaikwad. I had X-rays done. The hygienist rushed me, saying that I was taking too long, while pushing bitewings into my mouth, with me trying to comfortably adjust them. The hygienist then said that the dentist would be coming by to look at the X-rays. I responded that I was informed that I was, as per my dental insurance, to have full mouth X-rays, a full mouth dental cleaning, and a full examination by the dentist. The hygienist was clearly put out and was even more annoyed when I told her of my physical needs due to the cervical herniation. She responded that she didn't bother to look at the pre-check in forms, and that I was taking too long as the practice closes at 2 pm. I was not informed when making the appointment that the practice was scheduled to close within the hour of the appointment on the date and time selected by the practice scheduler. I insisted on a dental cleaning and on being correctly positioned. The hygienist told me that I was "making a lot of trouble" and tried to talk me out of a cleaning by saying that I need a periodontal cleaning, so she shouldn't "bother" doing a dental cleaning. I insisted on having the cleaning. The cleaning was a waste of time. I have had better dental cleaning by flossing and brushing my own teeth with a battery operated toothbrush. The dentist-Dr. Kelly Stubbs-then came into the room, looked at the X-rays, and said that I should get a periodontist. She never actually examined my teeth or mouth. I asked the hygienist for a referral to a periodontist, or if there is a periodontist with which the practice works. The hygienist's response was that I should look up who is on my dental plan and call around. I was told that the services were complete and was brought to the waiting room. At that time, I was told that I owed $65 extra for services. I asked for what and was told I would see it on an invoice to be sent to me in the future, and that I had to pay it immediately. I did so, with misgivings that in retrospect, appear to be founded. I have now received an added billing of $153. So, in addition to a sub-par dental experience, I am being billed $218 above what the insurance paid. I note that the practice billed for a "full mouth debridement" which is apparently what the practice refers to as an ineffective and cursory dental cleaning. A debridement is, I am informed, a deep cleaning procedure to remove plaque and tartar buildup. I have had dental cleanings/debridements throughout my life; I can assert that this was the single most ineffective cleaning I have ever experienced. A "new comprehensive eval" seems to be a dentist glancing at X-rays without ever looking into my mouth. I will not pay this spurious charge; additionally, I demand to know exactly why I was required to pay a previous charge of $65.

During my procedure, with laughing gas, I was told that I was going to have a root canal. I was pulled off the gas and told to sign some papers. I did this, and then went back under the gas, feeling nauseated the entire time. It was then the worst root canal of my life; long, painful and nauseated. When I came out the dr and the nurse looked visibly shaken like they hadn't expected it. I was sent home WITHOUT a prescription for antibiotics. Over the next three days, my swelling went from bad to worse as my neck began to swell up in the front. The pain was unbelievable. On Monday I called the office as soon as they opened and todl them that my neck was swelling. I was told to take ibuprofen and use a hot compress. On Tuesday, it got even worse and I began to struggle with the feeling of something in my throat. I went into the office and the dentist looked at me and said "Well, I think it's an infection, so we will give you another round of antibiotics. I said "You never gave me a first round" and they looked panicked. They sent me to an oral surgeon in New Milford who did x-rays. They could see the infection and told me if it got any worse to go immediately to the ER. The next morning, I woke up and could barely breathe. My husband raced me to the ER where they pumped me full of steroids and antibiotics and did a CAT scan on my neck. I was there for nine hours, and I have never been so scared in my life. There are no words to capture how scary it is feeling your windpipe slowly close. When I reached out to the dental team, I heard NOTHING. They did not check on me, they did not offer any help or empathy. This mistake, and their lack of follow up not only almost cost me my life, but it cost around 8,000 in medical bills. When I went to them with a reasonable request to pay back thte money that their mistake had cost me (and nothing more), they couldn't be bothered. I had to pursue it for months until an outside company reached out to me to say they believed they did nothign wrong. I have never gotten an apology or even a voicemail from the dentist. DO NOT GO TO THIS DENTIST. When i went for a follow-up to another dentist (since I refused to go back), she told me that my root canal was done improperly and that we would need to do it again because it was done sloppily. I wept in the chair at the idea of having anything done in that area. This was my experience with the Dental Team; one that I unfortunately for my health and my bank account, will never forgot.

First, he was in such a hurry to…read moreput on braces, he unilaterally on an early visit decided to pull out my daughter's two baby K-9 teeth. Then after a year in braces when her permanent K-9 teeth still had not materialized, he was pushing us to go to an oral surgeon to have them pulled down with surgery (claiming there was a problem (BTW - at a cost of over $3,000). Secondly, he was also saying that her dental hygiene was at risk as well as possible permanent staining of her teeth if she was to remain in braces much longer waiting for her two teeth to appear. Our own research stated that these teeth could take 18 months or longer to appear. Our Dentist also concurred and took X-rays that showed no abnormality with the progress of these teeth as well as her teeth and gums were fine from a hygienic perspective. As a result, we wanted to wait longer rather than put my daughter through unnecessary surgery; however, upon each visit he was insisting that these teeth would not come down and we needed to take immediate action. He became belligerent, frustrated and outright rude to us becoming ever increasingly impatient to the point that my 12 year old daughter became upset at every visit and my wife and I were becoming more and more angry. Finally, on the last visit he was so rude and insisting that he was right and we were "delusional" that there was no problem, and that "WE WERE WASTING HIS TIME" we finally became fed up with his arrogance and attitude and quit his practice to seek another orthodontist even though it will cost us additional money in switching. The end of the story was that in fact my daughter's K-9 teeth did appear 60 days after our last Beck visit and everything is fine and normal and finishing her care with a new orthodontist. Beck was rude, belligerent, threatening and also lied repeatedly that there was a problem with my daughter's teeth and tried to instill fear upon us at every visit just so he can rush things along on his timetable. I would NOT recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Richard Fisher was one of many dentists I called and was the first one I had called who was able to see me that day. I'm young and did not have insurance so it had been a while since I had seen a dentist; I knew that my teeth were in bad shape. Before the procedure, Dr. Fisher goes on telling me how awful my teeth are and that I might need gum surgery/root canal at best lose my tooth. A tactic, I later found out, to appeal to my emotions to get me to buy his $110 temporary filling which costs $3.50 at the drug store. His whole demeanor explaining my diagnosis was so unprofessional and lacked compassion. I had been freaking out about my tooth before! I didn't need him to harrass me about my not being able to see a dentist and how horrible my whole mouth was. His hygienist was slow and unorganized. She was constantly fumbling around the room grabbing things mid-procedure instead of having everything prepared and ready. Awful experience overall. FYI, people avoid dentists for years because of dentists like Dr. Richard Fisher who make people feel shitty about their teeth. AVOID.
