Trustworthy and dependent. That's really all there is to describe my experience. I had a second hand Civic that I sold to my friend close to Glenshaw. As a parting graduation gift for her, I decided to just give to her for a really cheap price. The only problem we had was how the heck can she get it since I live in California. That's where the beauty of Kerb came in really handy. I was literally up all night looking for ways to bring the car to her and even considered driving the car myself and spending the weekends. But Kerb Movers were really quick to respond and practically beaten every other competition. Their deals for shipping couldn't compare to others plus they offered insurance that the car would get there safe and sound. See, even if my car was older, they gave me that sense of comfort that it will get there. I am not hard to please. Completely incompetent. Litigation pending. 1. No communication between booking office and movers - they had no planning for packing our entire home. 2. They brought no supplies. I had to go 3 times to get things. 3. They had too small vans. Needed to exchange for bigger twice. Wasted a lot of time - which we were billed for. 4. They didn't finish the 14 mile move until 11 pm - after starting on time at 9 am. 5. They made a big scrape on our hardwood floor - and then blamed my wife! Repair estimate at $6,000. Similar to other recent reviewers of Kerb, the movers just simply didn't show up to our apt yesterday. We made a reservation over a month ago, and yesterday when they were supposed to show up at 9AM, they just simply did not show up. They also did not respond to many of our phone calls, nor called us. At this point we are not even sure we will get our security deposit back. We had to scramble and find a U-Haul truck and move it ourselves. It was a horrendous experience. I don't even know if Kerb is still a functioning business anymore, but if you have moves booked with them already, just beware that they might not show up. read more

Well, the first red flag for this company came when I called the day before to confirm our move, which was scheduled for a Sunday. I had requested 3 movers. The person I spoke to at Kerb said he would call me back. He called me back a few minutes later and asked, "Oh, is it possible to move your moving date to Tuesday?" NO, it wasn't okay as we had to move out that day. The movers showed up earlier than expected and said that moving and loading up the truck would take 2-3 hours and that unloading the truck would be much faster. While we had requested 3 movers, apparently one "called out sick". I had a feeling we would be short a mover. When you are paying by the hour, this is a HUGE deal. Well, our final move time ended up being 6 hours and 30 minutes to move a 1 bedroom apartment and an office. It was the longest move of both of our lives. I've moved about 15 times. Even moves from larger homes/apartments took far less time. The movers were slow and kept having animated conversations throughout the move. When we got to our new house, they didn't even use a cart to move our boxes...simply picked up what they could carry. We got to the point that we were so frustrated, we asked them to just unload the boxes in the garage and that we would move them into the house ourselves. Even that took a long time. They damaged one of our lamps and when I pointed it out they said they could give me $10 or I could file a claim. I still need to file a claim. And a few weeks after our move, we noticed large stains on our sofa, which is only a few years old. When moving, don't find a company that you pay by the hour- these guys had NO incentive to move our stuff quickly and that showed by them taking 6 and a half hours for what should have taken half that time. read more

I'm not from the area, but I was in town visiting a friend that needed help with moving. Seeing the other reviews bewilders me a little because we had exceptional service. From beginning to end, the Kerb team took great care of us. They communicated with us well and were very meticulous and detailed with all sensitive matters that you can think of. Boxes were carefully packed, the movers were mindful of their dirty shoes, and they made sure we didn't have to worry about anything breaking. It's for sure understandable to feel a bit nervous when total strangers are dealing with your personal belongings. At first I was on edge, but seeing how professional they were, I was put to ease. IThe kerb movers is a sham. First of all when they arrived they were not in the big beautiful black truck they advertise.Instead they arrived oi this white truck covered in graffiti. Inside the truck the had all kind of candy wrapping papers. After they had packed the truck they were following my son to the destination when they pulled over for various violations.The police then towed the truck with my furniture in it. Needless to say I didn't get my furniture untill the next day They charge 115 dollars an hour. This is the biggest rip off.The only good thing about this moving experience is they only charged me half. Every time I tried to call them I got a new number!!!!!! read more

I sent the same email to multiple companies and 99% of them had no issue providing me with a quick and reasonable estimate. The message contained a lot of detailed information, compiled into a brief and easy-to-read email. Two days later (long after I've already secured a guaranteed rate from a competitor), Pittsburgh Movers finally got back to me without any information other than a phone number to call. Lame. Now, I'd love to give 1-star and move on. However, as important as customer service is... it isn't the only thing that matters, and they very well may be terrific at the labor portion of the job. So I feel a 3-star review is fair, with a note to potential clients that this grade does not include a review on price or actual labor. When searching, be sure to negotiate any prices given to you - as most companies will lower their estimates and guarantee the rate if pushed hard enough. Happy hunting. read more

Do not use Kerb, there is a reason they have the lowest rates...you get what you pay for! My 2 movers showed up late, told me as they showed up cash only (even though I paid the deposit on my card). We do a walk through and they quote me at 3-4 hours max. Mind you it's a 1 bedroom with not much to move. The guys moved at a snails pace and were often seen and heard fooling around, wasting time. All my boxes were labeled yet noting was put/left in the same room. Also see the pictures on how they left everything! When I realized all the damaged they had caused (2 broken dressers, dented/chipped desk, broken lamp, ripped mattress, broken couch, scratched coffee table, and broken bed frame) I called to complain. The lady was friendly and filed a claim for me, but I never heard anything. I called a few weeks later and was told they are under new management and it's not their faults they shouldn't have to fix it. They offered me a $300 refund from the $800 I spent to have them ruin all my belongings. My next complaints is with the BBB! Save yourself the headache and pay the extra to go with a creditable and reliable moving company, because Kerb has horrible movers, worse management, and little to no customer service. read more

I had booked with Kerb Movers over a month ago. Yesterday when they were five minutes from the expected arrival time of 10AM, I received a call saying that all of their movers did not show up to work and they canceled my move along with 6 other peoples. I had to scramble to try to find another moving company (with no help from Kerb) and after failing, had to rent a truck and do the move myself and beg my friends to come help me. Pros: 1. Cheap. Much cheaper overall price compared to price quotes from other companies. Very transparent pricing with flat hourly rate. Crew was courteous with the times they started/stopped and tended to work at an efficient speed given the amount of stairs involved in the move. 2. Friendly. Crew was always pleasant. Cons: 1. Organization/promptness. The crew was over an hour late with no communication. I called several times for an update with no answer. Finally I got through to someone who said he would figure what's going on. Shortly afterwards I get a call saying they are 5 minutes away (short notice after already being an hour late). 2. Carefulness. Literally EVERY single piece of my furniture got scraped and/or broken. Two of my storage units got completely scraped up and it's not even on the bottom, so it's clearly visible when upright. I know furniture gets damaged during moves; however, when I looked in the truck there were plenty of moving pads available in a neat pile but ZERO were on my furniture! Instead my furniture was poorly staked on each other (even though it took up 1/3 or less of the truck) and was clearly drug across the floor (see picture where there's mystery glass stuck in the side of my storage unit?). My TV stand was also broken with the door completely off and the top scraped. They didn't even bother to mention the broken door to me, and I noticed it after they had left. I had to purchase material to fix it (no picture as I fixed it before thinking to take one). My desk chair didn't even make it out without getting scraped on the back! Overall, depending on how much you value your furniture, the price difference may or may not be worth it. If you have nice furniture and want it to stay nice, avoid this company. If you have time restraints on your move, this company also may be a poor choice as cancellations/tardiness are common trend among reviews. If you have cheaper furniture, a small move, and a flexible move timeframe, they could be the movers for you since they charge hourly with one hour minimum as opposed to four hour minimums many other companies charge. read more

This was by the far the worst experience I have ever had with a company. The movers were scheduled to arrive between 9-10am on Friday. They called around 10:30am asking if we could reschedule or postpone our move as they were running behind. We agreed to postpone for several hours and they were to arrive between 2-3pm. The movers never showed up and we spent the entire afternoon trying to get ahold of the driver and customer service without success. Finally, around 5pm, someone called and promised us that we would be moved first thing the next morning for free. Again, on Saturday, the movers did not show up. We called repeatedly trying to figure out where they were but were not able to get in touch with anyone from the company. Finally, a crew showed up around 10:30am with a small truck, reporting that they were told that they were moving a studio apartment (we have a 2 bedroom) and said they had to leave to get a bigger truck and would be back in 15 minutes. They never returned and we were never moved by Kerb. We were unable to reach anyone from customer service for the remainder of the day and were told we would be contacted today, but still have not heard anything. We will never be using this company again and would never recommend Kerb to anyone for their move. read more

Booked Kerb through Yelp. They responded quickly and it was very easy to book appointment. Their quote and fees are very transparent and ends up being cheaper than most of the other moving companies. Also used the Yelp voucher which I was a little skeptical about, but they took no problem. In terms of the actual move, my wife and I moved from our 2 bedroom apt to our new house. They (Julius and Keith) showed up right on time and did an amazing job. Their truck was plenty big and they had all the equipment they needed to protect our belongings. They moved everything very efficiently, but were also careful with every item. I was expecting scrapes on walls of our new house as we have some tight staircases, but the only scratch was from me carrying something on my own after they had left. I am a man that believes in fairness so I read the reviews on Yelp to determine my choice for her. I seen reviews rated from 1 star to 5 so I decided to go ahead and make my own judgement on what these people were about. Well I am happy to report with my experience I fall towards the positive crowd. I don't understand why others are saying they didn't communicate or show up because they communicated plenty with my friend and I. She told me her items were carefully packed, they came on time, set their quote and did everything that a moving company is supposed to do. No qualms there. First time using movers...will likely hire them again for the next move, hopefully way down the line. It was a VERY hot day and they kept going strong. An old (and I do mean old) piece of furniture was broken, but it was already nearly broken and my daughter was outgrowing it anyways and the stairs (2 long, steep sets of stairs) didn't help the situation since the furniture was so long. I think this would have happened regardless of who moved it because of the stairs. They handled it well, offered a discount and to figure a way to fix it and we moved on. They stacked my storage unit well so I can see everything and access what I need to. It was a very hot day and they did a great job where I would have given up after an hour just from the heat. We had quite an...interesting experience with Pgh. Movers. The front end was great. On the phone, everyone I spoke to was professional, easy to work with, and we were excited about hiring movers for the first time. We had a small 1BR apt and were moving only about 2 miles away to a 2BR apt. Eric and Lucas came to move us. From the get go, they complained almost non-stop about how heavy our boxes were and overall how much they didn't want to do this move. (Odd thing to hear from professional movers. Not to mention we weren't moving any big or unusual appliances). Once we arrived to our new location, they complained even more upon seeing there were steps up to the new apartment (which we listed on our original inquiry form). They took many leisurely breaks and were sometimes carrying 1 light thing at a time. They suggested several times that we could help them to make it go faster. We did, because we were so nervous about the amount of time it was taking them to move everything (paying by the hour) but that was frustrating because we were paying THEM for that service in the first place! They also broke a small table, acted like nothing happened, and place it in the apartment "back together" so it looked like nothing happened. They refused to disassemble and move one of our bookshelves for us because it seemed too difficult (although we were told this is a service that would be provided). My husband and I had to do it ourselves later and it took us all of 10 minutes. We were just very confused and put off by the level of unprofessionalism we saw with this moving crew. I ended up calling Pgh movers and opening a claim because of how unhappy we were. They apologized profusely, assured that "Action would be taken" with the crew, and gave us a $50 refund. I hired these movers because of the raving reviews I saw here on Yelp. All in all, $600 and 4.5 hours later, we sorely regretted hiring them and wished we would've had our friends do it instead. It would've taken about half the time, less things would've been broken, and it would've been free! I only gave 2 stars because of they fact that they gave us a "goodwill" refund and were very kind on the phone.
