Even if I had more furniture ( I didn't count my chairs and it was my fault ) I still don't understand it took them 5 more hours with 3 staffs instead of 2 staffs!! I am pretty sure that the company takes into account the time it typically takes when they estimate a price. I simply cannot comprehend, by any standard of reason, how the move took 11 hours. It also took one guy over 90 minitus to assemble a queen size bed & one dining table while other 2 guys were just haning out. Why didn't they splite the work so that one person handled the assembly while the other two carried the items? It is very unfair that they charged me for the labor of three people for those 90 minutes. Did they handle things and charge me in such an unreasonable manner because I am not American?

By last minute, I mean I was on Yelp at 10pm on a Monday night trying to get movers to help unload stuff to my apartment THEN move some stuff to my storage unit, for Tuesday morning. (I ran into a family emergency that stopped my move halfway through Monday. So to say I was in a real bind is an understatement.) I appreciate the prompt response from Nick via text and a confirmation call Monday night. By Tuesday morning, he and his coworker, Chauncey (sorry if I misspelled!) arrived right on time as they said they would and moved all my stuff in 1.5hours. The price was very fair and reasonable for less than a 12hr turnaround move. Most importantly, they took such great care of all my belongings, making sure things were properly strapped to the truck and covered with moving blankets (those going into storage). It was easy to book through their website, and $80/hr for 2 people seemed pretty much on par or cheaper than the other options. They were also willing to work just 1 hour, which many other bigger moving companies were not willing to do. On the day of the move, the captain of the move team called me to confirm the time, and they actually were a bit early! The two movers were college football players, and they moved all my things up so quickly. Everything was done professionally, and I was extremely pleased with the move. Of note, you do have to provide the moving van and moving equipment (bellhop, wheels, etc.) since the Home Team only providers the manpower/womanpower. So why the 4 stars, you ask? Well, it was a bureaucracy issue, as always. The movers helped me for 1.25 hours, but I was charged 2 hours. The owner kept saying that the minimum was 2 hours, even though I pre-confirmed that he said 1 hour was the minimum. Fortunately, I booked online so I just took all the screenshots and sent them back to the owner. I also contacted my movers, and they confirmed that they were only paid for 1.25 hours. Then it took 2 weeks for them to say that they charged me in error. Eventually I just filed a dispute with my credit card and was finally refunded. It took THREE WEEKS to refund the difference, and I had to contact someone almost every other day. Given how prompt, courteous, and hard working their movers were, it's incredible how unorganized and honestly corrupt their office was.

I have officially reported them to the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PA PUC), who informed me of the following: 1) the PA PUC had already issued this company a cease-and-desist letter, 2) this company is NOT on their approved list of moving companies, 3) that the PA PUC will look into this matter further for additional fines, and 4) the PA PUC will forward this matter to the federal department responsible.

Local company with a tight-knit crew…read more Stumpf just helped me move my household items (including a grand piano) from Pittsburgh to Annapolis, MD. I chose them for several reasons: 1. They are experienced piano movers. 2. Their price is reasonable compared to other national services. 3. Their reviews looked good, and I know I can trust those reviews because they are likely about the people who will actually move my stuff, not some random crew. Overall, I am happy with the service. The estimate was accurate. The packing was efficient and professional. It took them about 6 hours to pack up about ten rooms' worth of stuff, and another 4 hours the next day to load the truck. They stored my stuff for me for two weeks while I waited for the new house. Then they arrived at the new place at 8am as they promised and unloaded everything and set up the piano. Throughout all this chaos, the only casualty was a (not particularly nice) ice tea pitcher. I was happy with their service and would recommend them without hesitation.
