We have moved numerous times long distance and this time we used Debo. We were lucky and got a driver named Dustin. He and his crew were the BEST!!!! They were very fun to work with - congenial and polite and energetic. We have had some real bad experiences but this time we were so pleased. The guys didn't waste any time either. Unloading we had them put a ton of stuff in a basement (16 steps) and we never felt a bit of resistance or frustration. And they handled our stuff with a lot of care. I would use Debo anytime for any move - and if you are lucky enough to get Dustin and his crew you will be smiling FOR SURE!!!!! And to top it all off, Debo came in well under the estimate. My family just moved from Pittsburgh to Texas. I had a very bad experience moving to Pittsburgh with another company and kept waiting for the bad thing to happen this time, but it never did! I received a binding estimate for the move and that's exactly what I paid (I got an invoice by email and I thought "ah, here's the gotcha", but it was a refund because my items came out of storage early). The movers were professional and did a great job on both ends. There were a couple of minor dings and breaks on the older and weaker pieces ($5 chair from yardsale, e.g.), but all the glassware, China and big pieces were intact. They delivered in the delivery window. One thing to watch out for-- our packers were short and couldn't see into the high cabinets so I had to come along behind and make sure they'd gotten all the items out. read more

STAY AWAY: The move was okay. They were punctual. Movers were friendly and moved quickly. They were not the cheapest quote I received but I had used them many times before so I was comfortable using them. Team leaders were very thorough and generally were quick moving. The guys were so nice, in fact, that I let them take several items for doing such a great job. The one needed a crib mattress and the other needed a stand up bar and stools. I even gave one of them a TV. They really were that helpful and I honestly didn't need the items and I asked them if any of them could use the items and they took me up on it. I did notice after a few weeks that some of my things were damaged. I had a platform bed that was destroyed, a chest of drawers that was damaged beyond repair, several boxes had broken items that leaked onto other items and I had to throw them out. I had a shelf that is missing pins for the shelves themselves, so it's ruined. My riding mower needed work to get it working and it was in perfect working order when they packed it up. Not a big deal. There were several dings on the wall and the carpet on the steps was stained and needed steam cleaned from one of the movers boots but I'm fairly easy going. I was just glad to get the stuff back. I paid this company over $4000 for moving and storage and I paid them at the close of moving me in in accordance to my bill. I received a phone call from the company months later stating I owed them another $500. It was allegedly a company error with their billing department. When I returned the phone call to discuss this, I have never experienced a costumer service person/owner as rude as Claudette in my entire life with such contempt for the customer. I have used Debo many times before. My business has used Debo and it's staff to move new furniture into my building (nursing home) several times. I will NEVER use DEBO Moving and Storage again knowing the kind of people that own and operate it. I am not an unreasonable person as I think most of the DEBO staff who have come into contact with me have found out. However, the experience I had with the owner of the company I will never forget. If the owner has that kind of contempt for the customer, I feel sorry for those that work there. read more

When my husband and I decided we needed to move from Pittsburgh to Asheville in December we knew we weren't going to do it ourselves. I was on the hunt for a great company and group of people to take all of our stuff 500 hundred miles through WV (possibly in the snow) to our destination safely. I called 7 national moving companies, Debo wasn't the cheapest and they weren't the most expensive but they came out to my house, took a careful look around and gave me an honest quote that they promised not to charge a dollar more for. My move in date kept changing (new property delays) and Debo never skipped a beat. They came promptly Dec 23rd and picked up my stuff without a single grumble. The weather was actually amazing, but the three floors of stuff might have brought on complaints, but everyone there that day was a professional. Fast forward to move in day down in Asheville. They had kept in touch the entire time letting me know where all my stuff was. They arrived with only two guys (4 had come in Pittsburgh) but it didn't take any time for them to unload all of our stuff and put it where we requested. They did it logically (hello bringing the carpets off first!) and were all around great. There was one "causality" and it wasn't even serious, but they owned up to it and offered to replace it. Worst company I ever had to deal with! The salesman Mike was rude and called me a kiar when I stated that I had told him when I needed my items. He attempted to bully me and caused me so much stress. I would go with anyone else but this company. It was awful. read more

I had to move quickly and Debo had helped me get out of my house and in to my new one with no problems. They took everything I needed and I didn't have any real issues with them. I cannot say enough positive things about Debo! When relocating across the state, I had to have a salesman come in & give me an estimate. I was really happy when they were the most competitive in terms of price & was hoping they would be able to give me an estimate for delivery (since it's not local, it could not be guaranteed same day). Everyone I worked with at the office was very understanding--I needed at least a timeframe for delivery because it would help me know what to take in my own vehicle & what to pack for the truck. Both of the Cindy's in the office were so patient & helpful. I received my confirmation call the day before the move was scheduled to find it would be SAME DAY! They didn't even upcharge for same day (there was an option to do that at the time of the estimate but I needed to save the money). Now, I was definitely afraid that because they were the lowest that they would be sneaking in fees once the move was delivered (they are COD/cashiers check) but that didn't happen either! The moving crew was nice--not unlike some other companies I have worked with where the workers are definitely questionable. Seriously top notch guys and very hard working. It was a long day of moving for me & I didn't even have to do any of the heavy lifting! My items were delivered in great condition & I was really, really, happy to spend the night on my own bed instead of an air mattress like I had originally planned. Don't get the wrong impression--I'm not sure every move is handled with same-day delivery, but I moved to a rural area where I am sure not a lot of people are going (Reading, PA). Debo's is amazing. I don't even know where to start. My husband and I just recently moved to the area from Boston. We had people move us out of our 3 bedroom home in Boston, then other movers into a storage unit here in Freedom and now Debo's from our 10ft x 20ft packed to the brim storage unit to our new home in Hopewell. Debo's was by far the the best experience out of all three moves. My husband has a bad back and I'm pregnant so moving ourselves is out of the question. My husband was not able to get time off work to be there for the move so it was just me. Debo's had a 4 man crew assigned and they had everything I own on a truck and put in its place in just under 3 hours!!! I am literally so impressed. The guys were super nice and asked where things went. They offered to put large item back together for me. I didn't have to lift I finger and to top it all off. These guys were awesome. I called and they took my contents inventory over the phone. They set the pricing expectation up front so there were no surprises on my credit card. I had three movers: Aaron, Colton and Rick. They gave me a window of arriving between 8-9am and were there at 8:45am. Everything was moved carefully and they took the time to wrap my dressers so they would not be damaged. Price was very competitive for the area. They moved all of my items into my new house in about four hours. I highly recommend this moving company. read more

We have used Debo three times over the last few years for local moves. They provided excellent service each time. The moving teams were efficient and professional. They were on time and very carful with the items being moved (including a grand piano) and with the walls and floors as they maneuvered some large pieces. Stay away from these guys. Had estimate & then received wrong sized truck that couldn't get up driveway. Workers had such a chip on their shoulders. When asked where to put stuff, if it required extra energy it was always a problem. They disappeared for "lunch" without saying anything. Wouldn't go through access door because there were too many spiders. Finally they had to get 2 more men (5 total) at an extra expense to me to get the job finished. Leaving message for owner brought upon even more attitude from workers as he immediately called the workers. Damaged door trim & some dinks in walls in brand new house, but worker claimed they didn't do it. Horrible experience! Stay away!!!!! read more

Destructive!!! Used Debo for a long distance move that included storage of our belongings for up to one month. Seven pieces of our furniture were damaged. Not just scratches, but legs broken off very expensive pieces. Attempts were made, without our permission, to use gorilla glue on the truck before bringing it into the new location. This company had also insured us that we could get our belongings out of their storage with a 7-10 notice.....not true! You will get them and pay daily storage rates until they deliver on their time frame. Shop around! There are reputable companies out there and insist that all furniture be wrapped. Still haggling over damaged furniture. read more

I have used debo moving and storage twice and have had a great experience both times. The movers were punctual and everyone was very friendly both times that I moved. My apartment building I was moving to the second time had a strict move in policy and the movers were able to accommodate that with no problem. Do not understand the negative reviews. I suppose it depends on your crew. I found this company the best and I have moved over 7 times within the USA and twice from overseas. The crew I had were great, very friendly, helpful hard working. The driver Gary was awesome arriving one day earlier than expected. The move was carefully explained by the sales agent Mike who went over all my options of insurance and prices. I have no negatives to say about the company and would recommend them. read more

Worst company I have ever seen My daughter had debo pack her up on July 10. She is now living in Florida with 2 children aged 4 and 14.and DEBO has changed her date of delivery 4 times. She is in Florida sleeping on air mattresses with nothing but what they took with them and now she has been told that the truck won't be there until AUG 5. Her and the kids have been sleeping on air mattresses since July 12. and DEBO has not sympathy for what they have been going through. Wouldn't recommend this moving company to my worst enemy. This was the worst choice I ever made. The crew was a bunch of ill-mannered high school grads and drop-outs. They chased each other through the house with a back scratcher instead of packing our things professionally; they talked about how they spite customers who scrutinize how things are being packed; they were scattered in all the rooms at the same time, so I could not supervise or oversee our personal or expensive items; they talked negatively about the crew leader constantly; one member told me the crew leader broke my ceramic pots in the garage and packed them anyways (and I saw that it was true); and many of my items were broken in the boxes when I unpacked them. I called the office to complain about the packing crew and was told "Oh, that's never happened before" (which can't be true from these reviews). Was assured by the sales rep that the truck would back down the driveway ~ but the driver showed up and said "no". The moving van was parked off-site, so the crew leader who walked through all the things that were to be packed and then tagged/inventoried each piece was not at the house to insure that everything was loaded. Spent over 10K to move from east coast across to the west and was never reimbursed for all the breakage. I would post the photos if I could. Worst moving company we have EVER used. They broke or damaged multiple items, bragged about how they are "protected" when they break stuff, hit and destroyed the lamp on our walkway with the dolly, took 9 1/4 HOURS to move a 500 sq ft apartment, and used our bathroom and DID NOT FLUSH THE TOILET in the apt, causing us to return to an apt that smelled like a sewer pipe broke the next day. And the worst part, the employees LIED ABOUT THE WHOLE THING when we complained, and so the company was ignoring us. They also lied on their stat sheet about what they moved and added pieces of furniture I don't even own and extra staircases and boxes to justify taking 9 hrs to move something that should have taken 3 hours (plus the 1 hr mandatory travel time), not thinking that we would complain and call them out on all of the lies and exaggerations. Only I have pictures to prove otherwise. When they did finally contact us, only after I started to write reviews, they offered to pay us for 1.5 hrs of the overcharge, which was only 16% of the losses they caused us (5 1/4 hrs overcharge, $295 property damage, and $40 damaged items, not including the chunk they took out of my entertainment center). I told them that was not acceptable compensation for all of the damage, but they are again not responding...BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!!!! read more
