Horrible experience, went in to get my daughters $600 prom dress tailored and it looked like a completely different dress when we had it returned. The dress started with the straps crossing around her neck, when we got it back the straps were on her shoulders. When we brought this to their attention they tried to tell us that we were incorrect. They only realized they were wrong once we showed them multiple pictures of the dress. They "fixed" the dress for us, however the straps had very obvious stitchings on it and looked bad. Was not the same dress we bought. I don't recommend. Go somewhere else. read more

Horrible experience. He ruined my daughters homecoming dress ( it was perfect when he pinned it ) when we got it back the straps too long and dress took short). I tried explaining it and he started screaming at me and wouldn't refund the entire amount. What happened to customer service?! I've been going there for 20 years. I can't believe how horribly he treated me. He would not stop screaming at me and never took responsibility for ruining the dress and it's 3 days before the dance. He didn't even care about that. Bought a Calvin Klein suit online and called my dry cleaner, Crest Cleaners, and they recommended this place for alterations, as Crest doesn't offer these services. The price is very reasonable and it did take some time to get my suit back, but my suit fit me perfectly. I also got my Diesel jeans patched up (two for $36) which was great. Sure beats paying $450 for two new pairs! Highly recommend this place for any alterations. read more

Hmmm. My tuxedo pants were too long. I considered for moment whether I should fix them myself... No, this was a tux. Unfortunately, my last tailor had moved on. With a sense of adventure, I rode out in search of a new one. To my delight, I found one in Kentlands. Big blue awning and glass windows. Wooden floors and fitting rooms. Fresh flowers on the counter. Spools everywhere. I walked in to see multiple tailors happily tinkering away at their craft. They smiled and serviced me immediately. After skillfully measuring the product, they tallied up the necessary alterations. They offered to not only fix the inseam, but to add slimmer contours and hems to match the modern cut of my tuxedo coat. These guys were good. I accepted. I returned the following week and I was very happy with the results. Everything looked and fit perfectly. Once again, service was fast and professional. And the price was exceptional. Their work is very good, and I highly recommend it... BUT.... There is a language barrier, which isn't the best experience when they hem the wrong shirt. Also, be absolutely SURE you understand and agree what the price is (not posted anywhere), and what work is being done. If you have multiple items with varying requests, things can tend to get hairy. While their work is really really good, I've had one too many debates about pricing and service. (Should there ever be a debate??) It is a shame since they do great work when they do get it right, but they just aren't so good at resolving issues. read more

I'll definitely go back here if I need anything else altered. Good hours (open til 7 during the week and 9-5 on Saturday) and quick turnaround. The man who owns the shop is very nice. He does great work- I had a ridiculously complicated bridesmaid dress that was too long for me (this thing was like ten layers of tulle in differing lengths) and he managed to shorten in perfectly to fit me. The only thing is, they are a bit pricey. Then again, it's been a long time since I've needed a dress altered; perhaps this is just what it costs now. read more

I recently had to have 6 pairs of dress pants shortened, and the whole process was wonderful. Measuring took no time at all, and I did not need an advanced appointment. Turn around was under 2 weeks, and the pants look great. I will definitely come back when I need future alterations done. read more

Hard to find but not bad. I wish the owners were a little friendlier. I got my lace and very difficult to alter skirt hemmed for my bridal shower and I was asking him his opinion and he seemed to not want to give me an opinion. He's the taylor so I was a little taken back by that but regardless once I picked up my skirt- he did a good job. read more

Not the cheapest place in town but the work is fantastic. I always need to get shirts, jacket and coat sleeves shortened. They can keep the original cuffs without altering them and when finished it looks just like a factory product. They also can also shorten faded and ripped jeans and keep the original hem which I find amazing. Everything they do looks like it came from the manufacturer. I've used them at least a dozen times and keep coming back! read more

I had sleeves shortened on a suit jacket. I wasn't happy with the quality of the work (poor stiching, too much lining, crooked hem etc) and when I returned to point it out he was obviously disturbed I questioned him. Rude and unprofessional and shoddy workmanship. If he had happily agreed to fix it to my satisfaction I would have been fine but his attitude about it was a turn off. If you want attention to detail, look elsewhere. I will never return, and I suggest others do the same read more

These folks are fabulous! Their work is excellent, turnaround time was quick. And they altered my cocktail wedding dress exactly how I wanted it done, to perfection. Nice people behind the counter, but there is an obvious language barrier. Not a problem at all though when you make sure and make double sure that every alteration was what you wanted before leaving/paying. All my clothing that I left for them to deal with were designer; Visvim, Stone Island, Etc. And it came back to me with exactly what I wanted to have done to them. Most recently I dropped off jeans to have tapered from the knee down to tighten the ankle width, and those were perfect. All in all, good people, make sure you confirm the alterations, and understand what the alterations will do to the fit of the garment. read more

I wanted to shorten a t-shirt which I had bought for 20 dollars and they wanted to charge me 24 dollars to do the job. They just throw a number at you and see if you are going bite the bait. My advice is to stay away from them. read more

I love Kentlands Custom Tailor! I am a really petite girl, and I have to get almost everything I buy altered, which is a real hassle. But KCT always does a great job, and the garments always look like I bought them at the store that way. I've had some really expensive dresses with very delicate fabrics altered there, and I'm never disappointed. They always do very clean finishes, which means my clothes don't get ruined! read more

I needed a pair of dress pants shortened and needed it done on a very short notice. They were very accommodating and professional. I thought the price was very reasonable for a next day alteration. They also did a good job with the pants. This was me testing the waters. I plan to get my suit altered here as soon as possible. read more

The absolute worst. They did alteration of a pair of pants for me. when I tried them on a few days later I discovered they were too loose in the waist. I took them back with the receipt and the man insisted that he did not do the alterations and wanted to charge me an additional $24 to correct his own mistake. Unbelievable. I recently moved to the area and needed two suits altered significantly. The tailor took his time measuring and marking and did and excellent job actually performing the alterations themselves. He was able to meet my timeline and had it done when I expected. The hours were also great. I can't generally get in during the day as I work, but they are open later and on Saturdays to meet my schedule. They are not cheap, but they charge a reasonable amount for the amount of work and quality they perform. I plan to do more business with them. read more

I've had a number of suits altered here. I am very difficult to size, with extra long arms and other issues. They have done a very good job every time (6 suits, at least). Other places do not. This is the only place in this area that I take my suits. They are not cheap, so I'm not sure that I would use them for inexpensive clothes alterations, but if you want your suit to fit right, this is the place. read more

I brought a ballgown to be altered here. The fix wasn't simple - it's a mermaid/ trumpet style dress, and it was too tight in the hips. The work was flawless and you can't even tell by looking at it that it was altered at all, but now it fits beautifully. I also brought in a work dress that fit all wrong in the chest/ shoulders/ arms area, and now that fits beautifully, too. Impressed. read more
