I was trying to find an establishment that did both dry cleaning and alterations. I found Dryclean Station online and rushed in right before they closed. They were super busy and ended up staying open an extra hour or so, which made me feel so much better about walking in last minute! I had two dresses dry cleaned and one dress tailored. The owner was super helpful and knowledgeable about what I needed done. She quoted me pick up time for within 3-4 days. The prices are on the higher end. Alterations were around $45. Drycleaning was around $30 for two dresses. Owner did excellent work. And it was done quickly. Worth it. read more

My wedding dress needed very difficult alterations, and Mrs. Young Kim, the seamstress and owner, made the dress look flawless! I had bought a beautiful Maggie Sottero wedding dress with a sweetheart neckline; however, the bust of the dress was several cup sizes too large. The dress did not have a built in bra, and it also had large wires beneath the lace, shaping the large bust of the dress. It seemed to be an impossible fix. Mrs. Young Kim thought outside the box by cutting the wires that framed the bust and by inserting padding inside the bust area of the dress. She also trimmed an inch from each side of the dress so that the dress would hug my chest better and reshaped the neckline to make the trim seamless. My lace dress had a unique pattern at the bottom of the hem, which I had asked to cut off due to the excessive length of the dress. Instead of just doing a simple hem at the bottom of the lace dress, she preserved the original unique lace pattern by adding it to the newly hemmed dress. The bustle was expertly added as well! It is not easy to work with tulle, lace, and wires. Luckily, Mrs. Young Kim is skilled, patient, and innovative. The dress now fits me perfectly. Moved back to the Kentlands area last year and was looking for a new dry cleaner. Found Dry Clean Station and they are awesome! We even brought in very expensive linen curtains that they hemmed for us. They did a great job at a very reasonable price. Cannot recommend them enough. read more

Great service. Quality results. Worth the price. The service is more than satisfactory because the owner is attentive and friendly. It also helps that the store is clean and has a homey feeling. Quality is excellent. I used to use cheap dry cleaning stores like Zips or any of the places that offered to clean your shirt for $1.50. I will never go back to those cheap stores because there is a huge difference in quality and expertise, especially when it comes to alterations. I have brought the owner 2 different bridesmaid dresses with issues including bust too large, hem too long, and uneven shoulder straps. She is a miracle worker. She's also fixed the hem on my favorite pair of jeans and a button on my favorite jacket. That was a couple years ago and I've had no issues with them since then. The quality of the dry cleaning itself is also excellent. I compared a Zips cleaning to their cleaning on my stained silk shirts and I could still see the stains from the ones from Zips. I took my wedding dress there. The price was right, the location convenient. My alterations were not too complicated, or so I thought... (shortening the dress slightly, adding a modesty panel to a part of the dress that was too revealing, and creating a bustle), but every other place I went to wanted to charge me "an arm and a leg". This is the place where I learned the difference between the "over-bustle" and the "under-bustle"... And I learned it the hard way. I ordered an "under"bustle, came back and hated it. I don't settle for less. The shop owner/seamstress changed it for me to an "over"bustle, and now I'm very happy with the result. I must say she did both bustles perfectly. I have called upon Mrs. Kim with no few number of very difficult challenges, and each time she rose to the occasion!!!! I have been bringing my laundry to Dry Clean Station for over 10 years. They have always been polite and friendly and have done an excellent job with my laundering and dry cleaning needs. But in the past few years I have started using them for alterations as well. Most recently I brought in my late father's 20 year old wool, winter coat - shoulder pads and all. I knew it was a long shot but the sentimental value was priceless. Two weeks later I now have what might as well be a new winter coat - beautifully altered to fit my father's daughter (me). I've been a loyal customer for years because they do a wonderful job on all of my dry cleaning, even very delicate items, and are warm and friendly. I would HIGHLY recommend Dryclean Station. I walked in with 2 dresses I ordered on line from a high-end department store-when I got the dresses I could not zip up the dresses all the way-European designers cut the clothes differently, their sizes run smaller. I loved the dresses so much I thought I could lose a little weight and make them work-that didn't happen. Anyhow, thinking there was NO way to alter these dresses- I said let me just go to DryCl.ean Station and ask Young if there was anyway to make the dresses work for me-I had nothing to lose at this point. She had also worked a miracle before on another dress that was too tight. On my red lace off the shoulder dress with bell sleeves-she figured out a way to not only take it out but to use a little fabric from the bell sleeves-I was ecstatic!! The second dress was a little trickier-but she said if I got the same color cream as my dress at the fabric store she could insert a 2 inch panel along the sides that would blend in with the cream colored lace-I immediately went to G Street fabric and found what she recommended. Just picked up 2 dresses a couple of days ago and they fit perfectly! I can not thank Young enough-she is AMAZING and does incredible work-she fixed my dresses to PERFECTION! If anyone has something they love that's too tight or barely fitting-go talk to Young! She has been a blessing!! I could never thank her enough! I like the convenience of this dry cleaner but they're a little pricey for a lot of dry cleaning at one time. I use them occasionally for special items. They do a wonderful job. I ALWAYS go to them for alterations. I've never had one problem with them and they get the alterations done pretty quickly. I see that they have shoe repair services. I've taken my suits here a few times and really like it. I lost track of time once, showed up a few minutes after closing to pickup my clothes and they cut me some slack; that's something only a mom & pop place will do and I really appreciate it. It's not cheap - about $7-8 a piece - but I'd rather take my garments to a place in the neighborhood than drive out of my way to find a less expensive place. I used Crest a few times and was disappointed; this place is much better. I recommend it if you live nearby. read more

Recently relocated to the area and found Dryclean Station a few blocks from my new residence. Very friendly folks but my experience with their cleaning has been less than satisfactory. One reviewer said that "staff pay attention to detail", and no offense, but I'm not sure what detail they're paying attention to. My first visit, I brought in several dress shirts and a couple of pairs of pants. I picked up my stuff a few days later only to get home to find two of my shirts with issues- one of them had a major issue, a giant black smudge across the front with several other large black spots. I returned and showed the shop owner. After asking like 10 times what happened (my response- how do I know, it's a brand new shirt I brought here to have cleaned), she took it and told me to come back in a few days, which I did. Unfortunately, it took about 3 weeks for them to finally get the stain out, after the same cycle of "there's still a stain on my shirt" and "come back in a few days". Aside from that, I've found other clothes that were not cleaned or pressed properly. The final straw was bringing them a silk tie to dry clean because of an ink stain. They laundered instead and did I don't know what to the tie, plus failed to clean the ink stain and endured two more weeks of the come back in a few days routine. I'd say zero attention to detail and slow service. Like I said, nice enough but as far as my experience, I think I'd get better results by hand-washing myself in one of the Lakelands ponds and letting my stuff air dry on the grass. Will not go back...ever! read more

The staff is great- helpful and friendly. They did a great job with my sweaters and were fairly priced. But NEVER NEVER take your wedding dress here. I couldn't stomach paying half the cost of my dress to Parkway, the wedding dress cleaners in Bethesda, so I called Dryclean Station, who assured me that they did wedding dresses and did a good job. Well, they didn't. The first time I came to pick up my dress, it wasn't ready. The second time, I noticed the sash, which had previously been cinched, was no longer cinched and hung limp. I was upset and the owner promised to fix it. Also, the cups had come out. So, she replaced the cups and attempted to fix the sash. Well the sash was made of thin silk and instead of sewing the cinching along the seam lines, as had been done originally, she made cinching on the front. It looked wrong and cheap and I asked her to fix it again. Again it was wrong and I took it home. It was then that I noticed that the dress was still visably dirty. So the sash got ruined and my dress isn't even clean. I'm sure Dryclean Station does a great job with regular clothes, but a wedding dress is beyond their realm- just suck it up and pay the experts. read more
