After a lot of research, I settled upon Dr. Kent Davis' office. I have horrible experiences with previous dentist, so finding the right dentist was extremely important. Yesterday I had my first appointment to check things out and devise a treatment plan. Every staff member and Dr Davis were so nice and helpful. Today I went back to have my teeth cleaned, and all I can say is that Julie is the best. Next week I start the first of reconstruction appointments. At this point, it is hard to express how much I enjoy this dental office and everyone involved. I will update this review as the work continues. I highly recommend! read more

A couple years ago, our dentist which our family went to for many decades, moved into the same office with Dr. Davis, for a short period before he retired. After he left, my wife and her brother went to Dr. Davis once or twice. He was near our home making it convenient for us. My brother in law stopped going to him after Dr. Davis put in a crown and the tooth abscessed shortly afterward. . My wife had problems with Dr. Davis dropping a crown on the floor, without cleaning it and also with him dropping one in her mouth. I realize things can happen. However, my wife's crown came off recently so I took her to my dentist. She found out that when Dr. Davis put the crown on the old tooth, he'd left a gap between the crown and old tooth! Now, she needs to have it extracted and go through a process of having a bridge made. Based on this knowledge, I'd stay away from Dr. Davis. Stop. This dentist office is a night mare. Over charges, bad work, scams for money, Dr calls at night intoxicated. It all began in December 2020. I had dental work started elsewhere. But due to covid and christmas that office was closed. I had lost my insurance due to covid. I called several other dentist but ended up with Dr Davis. I paid $200. For an initial exam. I ended up paying this office close to$3000. And feel i walked away with nothing done. dr davis told me the other office had not been truthful. Stole their client with false info. Now ic why he had so much availability. The receptionist plays with your money. She attempted to give me a receipt for $3.23 Instead of 323.00. She acts like they are doing you favors. She printed my receipts in a confusing matter. To intentionally bring me to 6 months later, today. when additional charges started to appear on my card..but luckily I kept receipts and notes explaining receipts. After I contacted Mari about the extra charge she was ready with her explanation. also, she altered the receipts and added services i did not get as freebies. She also chooses to take care of business after the creepy pervert who keeps touching my shoulders and arms while performing dentistry is done. Then Dr Davis calls you at home intoxicated. On my first visit. Mari talked me into a cleaning plan..$499. Don't do it, its a scam to give you another exam. Then they do everything possible to avoid honoring their plan.. This cleaning plan was where they found $5000 additional dental issues.after claiming other dentist was fraudulent.. Well of course I ran out and got insurance. But then went to a Different dentist, oviously. I Went to Robert Rogers in pleasant hill. Guess what not 1 issue. (Dr Rogers is a awesome dentist.) Dr Rogers thought it had been years since i had a cleaning he spent an hour and a half cleaning my teeth..scrapping tarter build up off. .. THAT. untrained person at Dr Davis office spent a whopping 20 minutes cleaning then said I had periodontal disease. At Dr davis the untrained hygienist . Wow just wow.. Cancelled my appointment once then tried a second time I said no. I have a schedule also. They had talked me into that cleaning plan $499. Now they don't want to clean my teeth. Every move they make every word they say is all one huge con job. And Dr Davis has these woman where can they go? they have no legitimate schooling... Dr Davis told me he likes to train his female workers himself. Eww. they don't have official dental training. when you get to the dental cleaning exam that they force you you to have another exam,before they will clean your teeth. Remember I already paid for an initial exam. There is so much more. Dr Davis drilled through a temporary crown that had my brand new $1000 Porcelain crown piece from first dentist. It could be popped right off. The root canel went on for hours 3 with no meds. he fumbled around telling me how great he is. Mari the receptionist and office manager is a con artist she never stops talking. She changed paper work she added things to an invoice I didn't have done. she acts like your best friend. Like she is doing you favors. But they exploited the fact i did not have insurance. Over charges untrue diagnoses. When I refused to reschedule the cleaning the second time. When i arrived for my scheduled appointment they pretended I had a fever, Sent me outside. they called to confirm and then changed my appointment . Then. Threatened me if i didn't change my appointment Dr touchy davis would be doing my cleaning.. I was waiting to write review until i got the second half of my cleaning deal but like I said they put fraudulent charges on my card. Weirdly , I think it was all a scam to take my money and do nothing.. Well, I'd like to say a few things about this dentist...first of all, he's out of town a lot. So make sure you plan ahead and hold off on any emergencies cuz you'll be sent to random dentists should one arise. Second, judging by other people's reviews, it's a common practice of Dr. Kent Davis to produce hidden fees after quotes abc payments have been processed. I can't tell you how many times I've heard "it looks like your insurance didn't cover this"....even though it was ran by our policies the day of. He's seen all of my kids, as well as myself and my husband. He doesn't believe in offering any type of pain relief post procedures. So it sucks my husband had to sit in pain after an extensive procedure. I have four children, all that go to different schools...so i run late on occasion, but most dentists offer a grace period of 15 minutes. This morning, during school traffic, we ran 15 minutes late due to rain and school traffic. My 7 year old has been experiencing pain from an abscess for the last couple of days, so i couldn't believe to hear i was fired as a patient for running late (with a phone call to give them a heads up, which they said was fine, they could of just told me on the phone)...so now i not only wasted my time which i could of spent looking for another dentist, he actually left my 7 year old in pain and with zero remorse. So here i am sitting outside his office typing this, only to see no one has come in for an appt, so it's not like i was running into someone else's appt. what kind of doctor leaves a child in pain?? Do not go to this dentist. There are far better, more compassionate dentists out there. ******UPDATE****** Just spoke with front desk and asked them if i could i have copies of our records so i could go to a more competent dentist. What a surprise to find out that the pediatric dentist he referred me to (Dr. Tiffany Ham) spoke with him prior to our appt. She just happens to be the last dentist my son saw, and we had a terrible experience at her office. So i posted a yelp review about it in detail, and according to Dr. Kent's front office, she had a lot to say about me. She must not of liked the review i left her, and it's a terrible feeling to know these dentists are basically gossiping behind their patients backs, and firing their patients for leaving bad reviews. I don't recommend this dentist. In my 20's, thinking all is well with my teeth, Dr. Davis tells me I have the beginning of gum disease. At another appointment he tried to tell me what hurts and what doesn't. I went to another dentist and found out I didn't have any gum disease, and this dentist is very understanding, caring and patient. Though we didn't know eachother then, my husband also had experiences of being lied to ripped off by Dr. Davis. I cannot trust him awake. I've been going to Dr. Davis for 10-years and while I used to be deathly afraid of dentists, I'm pretty much over it now. Kent babied me and gave me "conscious sedation" when I needed some major work. It worked - I was relaxed (I don't remember much) and I had the work done. (My husband took me home!) But it worked - it really worked. After some other work, I've actually come to the point were I'm not afraid of the dentist (well, maybe only Dr Davis) anymore. I recently had a couple of crowns put in and I didn't need any special treatment. Dr. Davis truly has a soft touch and of course, I should add that the crowns were perfect the first time around. Nothing is worse then having tooth pain in the middle of the night. YIKES! I requested an appointment for the next available day. Mari the office manager gave me a call first thing that morning and scheduled me an appointment for 30 min later. WOW! that's wonderful service. Dr. Davis examined and gave me a temporary fix. Recommended that we do a root canal and crown. But would have to see a specialist for the root canal. Mari called the specialist for me and was able to get me in the same day! After my root canal I was able to get in for the post and mold for the crown within the same week. After the post they sealed and cemented a fake tooth till the crown came in. I did chip the temporary tooth and gave them a call and they saw me that same day and fixed it! Mari even tried to see if she could get my crown sooner since I had already chipped the tooth within the first week. She was able to get me in a day sooner then my original scheduled appointment. Dr. Kent Davis is very gentle and has a great sense of humor. All of his staff are very friendly and welcoming. Being someone who has worked in dental offices before, I can confidently say that this one is truly exceptional. When I came in, I was greeted by a warm and friendly reception staff; this was my first cue that the experience would be a good one. The office was clean, and had a comfortable feel (even the music was great!). Julie did a general cleaning and was so knowledgeable, sweet and fun to talk to. Doctor Davis and Asal did my examination and filled a couple of cavities for me. I was a little nervous at first- it had been quite a while since I had seen a dentist- but I was put at ease when ten or twenty minutes had gone by and I had no sensation of pain or discomfort whatsoever! I was told by the receptionists later that Doctor Davis has a special technique for administering the numbing injection so that the patient feels pretty much nothing--How cool! I think what set this clinic apart in my mind, beside the amazing work, skill level, ambiance and professionalism, was the fact that all of these people- Doctor Davis and the whole staff- seem to get along so well! They helped me feel comfortable and eased my nerves with their playful banter and joking. At one point, Doctor Davis expressed how much he truly appreciated his staff and all that they do. You don't find a working environment that harmonious very often! It was a joy to see. It is so important to get dental work done by the right dentist. As an acupuncturist, I have seen patients who have suffered greatly from sub-par dental work at the hands of doctors who are cutting corners and not taking proper care of their patients. I went to Dr. Davis with very bad teeth. My insurance company said that they would pay for the exam and x Rays. For future emergency dental work. The dentist sat me down in the chair looked at my teeth and coughed a lot and then did not take x Rays. He just said he was not the dentist I needed. And then said he was done. Then he said he was not going to charge the insurance company. So why is he posting YouTube videos of people's dentures. It is crazy or this dentist doesn't care about serious dental problems. Words cannot express how well taken care of I was when I went to see Dr. Davis. I had initially gone in because I was experiencing a lot of pain and figured I had a really bad cavitiy. Unfortunately that wasn't the case and needed to have a root canal done. I have had a root canal done before and it was the worst experience of my life. The pain left me scarred and when I was told I would need another one, I knew Dr. Davis could see that I was pretty nervous to have to undergo the procedure then and there. So he did what no other dentist has done, he spoke to me in the most calming voice ever and let me know that no matter what, I would be taken care of and I would feel no pain. His words put me at ease. Needless to say, he numbed me up pretty good, which to my suprise, didn't affect my entire left side of my mouth; just the area in which he was working on was numbed. When he told me the worse part was over, I began to cry. And I mean I seriously cried. I couldn't believe that I had felt no pain, not even the slightest hint of pain. was felt throughtout the entire procedure. I knew from then on that this dentist was honeslty the best at what he does. And the staff, well let me tell you! The girls there are amazing! The receptionists Mary and Porscha are the sweetest. I had to cancel my prior appointment with the office and Mary had helped me to do that and she was so understanding of my situation. When I had finally made it in, she asked how my family was doing and was just so personable. And finally, I had the pleasure of also meeting Asal, the RDA, and she was sooooo nice! She spoke to me like as if she had known me for years and that only helped me feel more at ease with being at the dentist. After leaving my appointment, I felt so compelled to tell all of my friends about this office because there really is no other like it. My family and I LOVE Dr. Davis and his staff!!!! We have been coming to him for all our dental care for the past 9 years. The hygienists are very thorough and personable. The major question is...what dentist has the capability to numb only the area that he's working on and not the entire side of your face??? He is so gentle. I barely felt him working. His staff is very knowledgable and friendly. Together we worked up a plan of care to repair the years of neglect I had inflicted on my poor mouth. I currently live in Mountain View California and travel an hour to get to Dr Davis in order to make use of his services. One example of how dr. kent davis puts the welfare of his clients before himself, is one night about a year and a half ago I called Dr Davis's office at 10:45 pm with the intention of leaving a voicemail message, so that he could get it first thing in the morning . Strangely enough I actually got Dr Ken Davis instead of his message machine. After explaining to him the exuberant amount of pain I was in, and that I was considering having the tooth pulled at a 24 hour dental clinic in the area, he told me that if I was able to drive to his office and leave then that he would perform the work on me himself that night. Worst dentist! My husband went here and had the worst pain! He wasn't numb from the novicane and told Kent Davis and his response was "Oh well you should be soon". Then my husband came home after getting his wisdom teeth pulled and he had no medicine to come home with. He was in alot of pain. Then we get a call from their office assistant Mary. They said that they charged our insurance late, and now we have to pay for the service out-of-pocket. We ended up going to another dentist who we told about our experience with Kent Davis. They said that Kent Davis was doing fraudulent charges to us and to file a dispute with delta dental. My new dentist even called Kent Davis's office and told them that they were wrongfully charging us. They ended up hanging up on our new dentist office.
