The lower canyon is stunning! But we all know it's the guide who either makes or breaks your trip right? Well, I'm here to tell you Jonas is the man! My group of 5 walked up to our guide Jonas and when we said good morning, he dead pan looked at us as if he didn't want to talk to anyone so early in the morning. It was 11:00 am!!!! He told us the rules and we started on our way. I will warn you now, I am not going to do justice trying to describe how much fun we had. Jonas was hilarious. It started with that dry engineer vibe and ended with straight up had us rolling. He did a fabulous job offering to take photos of our groups with our phones. WHY, just WHYYYYY were his photos so much better than mine? It's MY camera!!!!! He showed us his magical camera settings after a bit of begging. He offered to take photos often throughout the tour. He was super patient, but also kept us all on schedule. When two women fell behind a little bit, he asked if we knew what language they spoke, we didn't. This man just starts rattling off, "let's go please" in different languages until you hear the women respond and catch up. Again, the canyon was beautiful. Our group was small. In the beginning I was worried it would just be group after group all stuck together walking through, but it was not crowded at all once we were inside. I felt like we had all the time in the world. I highly recommend Ken's Tours. And maybe all of the guides were great, but if you're given a choice, don't ask for Jonas unless you have the cash to tip him well because he's hilarious and knowledgeable and apparently a professional photographer on the down low.

Shawn Hicks!!! Your energy for an 8am tour.... Its amazing! Shawn has the stories and extra information about the lower antelope canyon and the Navajo Nation. He also gave us photo hacks and the results were amazing! We highly recommend Shawn and Ken's Tours! Its worth every penny

We couldn't have asked for a better experience! Thank you, Shawn for making it unforgettable!!!

This experience has been a bucket list item for many years. Thank you Shawn for making it unforgettable.

We did Lower Antelope Canyon and Shelby M was our tour guide. She did amazing and helped us take pictures at the perfect spots. She was so kind and provided so much information. Thank you Shelby M, we will be back to do upper and hope we get you as our guide again.

What an amazing tour. From check in to leaving everything was perfect. Alex was our tour guide and he was funny and very helpful with taking photos. I highly recommend doing this tour. Beautiful all around.

Spectacular!!! Book these tours in advance bc they sell out fast! Our guide was Ala and she was so informative and lovely - we learned a lot from her! The tour lasts about an hour and there are steps and some uneven terrain in the lower canyon so dress appropriately. It truly is the most beautiful experience - lots of photo opportunities. It was easy to book online and they sent us e mails prior to the tour to provide us with directions and rules/regulations. It was definitely a highlight of our trip - a must see!

On a recent trip to Arizona, I rememberied visiting this beautiful attraction a few years ago.. They had the upper and lower tours and we chose the lower. I've heard they're both beautiful. There were alot of people touring and they separated us into small groups. Our guide was informative and entertaining. We walked around curves and it felt like being in a cave. Our guide directed us to the popular photo shot spots. We were able to get tons of pictures. We had a great time at this beautiful natural site. This is a must see when you're in the area.

I don't care what anyone says, weather aside, the only thing that truly influence how great your experience is in the canyons are the guides themselves - and we got the best guide ever. Our guide's name is Shelby and she is - THE BOMB! She is everything a guide needs to be but sadly - rarely are. She is experienced, knowledgeable, super smart, chill, kind, generous, and I don't know how many languages she speaks but I think I heard her talking five different languages. There were 15 people total in the group she led and everyone had the best time. Hers was the last of three canyon runs in two days that I didnand Shelby was so leaps and bounds above everyone else that I wouldn't want to do it again without her. Shelby, if you are reading this, thank you, gracious, merci, arigato, ahéheé!

We visited in mid-November and booked our 2pm tour directly through their website. The weather was nice--just a bit cloudy. We arrived about an hour early to check in, and the process was fast and easy. They do require the ID and credit card used for the booking at check-in, so make sure to have those ready. Our guide, Ala, was amazing! Super sweet, knowledgeable, and an excellent photographer. She helped us capture so many great photos and made the whole experience fun. We chose the regular tour (about $70 per person) and had around 15 people in our group. Our 8-year-old had no trouble walking through the canyon, although the first set of steps going down were a little steep and intimidating. We wore hiking boots, but most people seemed fine in regular sneakers. They only allowed phones, cameras, and a bottle of water--no bags of any kind, and no video recording. Just a heads-up for anyone planning ahead. Overall, it was an awesome tour and totally worth it. Highly recommend!

This was an amazing experience! They took us down in groups and it was a very easy hike. I was pregnant and it was very easy for me to get through it. The tour guide was very knowledgeable. Although it's pricey, it is so worth it!

Tour guide and photographer, Kylie took the BEST photos.

Wife and I have had this tour on our bucket list for years and finally planned it. We started with the Lower Antelope Canyon by Ken's after searching through a few options. This was amazing. We started our tour at 9:30 am and was lucky to be given Kylie as our tour guide and professional photography on her worst days. She was extremely knowledgeable and always requested a phone from each of the 2 families on the trip. She knew the best angles and history of the site. She was great at pointing out all the different animals that have been carved into the walls over time by Mother Nature. We cannot wait to go back and take another tour or any tour with Kylie as our guide. She was remarkable to match the setting.

This was an absolutely gorgeous tour. Not strenuous. Shawn was our tour guide and was absolutely amazing! He Took looks of pictures for our group and gave us a lot of insights into the canyons

absolutely hands-down the best tour I've ever been on & I'm 51! Shelby Lynn is knowledgeable, communicative, committed to her craft of ensuring her guests have an incredible experience but most of all, she helps you take the best pictures to make sure you leave with memories that will last a lifetime. We went on the deluxe tour which cost more but it is the way to go with a group of 6 or less! We are already planning to visit again to take others! It is only 4 hours from Phx and worth every mile- MUST MUST! Ask for Shelby!! Shelly let us know that the summer gets really packed so make sure & be prepared if you go then we went today April 5 and it was absolutely perfect for lighting at 1 PM.

Ask the Community - Ken's Tours Lower Antelope Canyon

Is there a specific number of people allowed per tour group? What time of day is best?

Yes due to covid they break people in smaller group and you need to wait until the group in front of you is gone. Safe distance is maintained also mask needs to be all time up even not allowed to remove for pictures. (Make sure you get one clear… Read more

Are you allowed to take picture? I noticed their website says no bags, no cameras, no.... anything really. So I'm curious to know if we're even allowed to take pictures with our phones

Small clear bags ok. Using phones as cameras ok and bring water for sure

Does anyone know if there is a waiting area for people that are not going on the tour? TYIA!

Yes. they have a little cafe and gift shop. It is much like that of a train or a bus terminal but it is comfortable and clean.

Is the delux tour worth it for less crowd? Are you able to take tons of pictures on the delux tour??I want to go with my buddy and we're wanting some pretty pictures of us with this amazing place without lot of struggle to have just us in the pics

If you're wanting to take tons of pictures I would pay the extra. I did the regular tour and we had 105 people in our time slot plus the other tour company went in after us. You can get good pictures but chances are you will have people in them.

Do you get chlostrophic in those narrow areas of the canyon?

Well, there are some small spaces, but they open up into larger areas. There are metal stairs to climb down, but not too many. Try to be the first groups at 620am so that it's not crammed with people.

Is there always a wait to get into the canyon? Planing a trip next week, and I'd like to know if I should plan to stand in a line for any period of time.

Yes - once they call your group, they'll divide you up into three smaller groups and have you wait in a corral as groups are lead through the canyon. The interval is roughly 15-20 minutes after you're called out, but it is shaded and they move at a… Read more

The tour is already $45 but you have to go in with the guide. They yell at you to get to one side and even grab you to move you sometimes. There was a guy that wasn't a part of our group that got yelled at for walking to slow. He turned around and told the tour lady he was taking a picture and she said she he stopped and held up the line. He was getting mad saying what's the point of coming in here if not for pictures. There's only one way in and one way out. As you're walking in there's other people exiting and squeezing through. You're limited to taking one photo at each spot and if it doesn't Come out good they tell you too bad you should've had your camera settings right. The tour lady pushed me to the side of the wall at one point as she screamed at everyone to get to the right. There's a photography tour price of $160 which looks like they get better treatment. They block the tourists so the photographers could get their shots. If you ask me there's too many people inside at once. We came here back in 2007 and there wasn't nearly as many people inside so you had some wiggle room. I think the Navajos are being a bit greedy trying to fit all these tours in. They should limit how many people go in per hour so you could at least breathe and enjoy it. The tour lady wasn't the only one yelling. The other tour guys were also yelling at their people. I understand everyone wants a picture but there's no need to be rude. Maybe if they managed their tours better for the crowd control they wouldn't have to be like this. At one point I heard the tour lady say a bunch of us were being annoying. Geez if this place wasn't so nice I doubt people would come. I keep reading the lower AC is better. I will have to check it out. For now I don't think I would recommend this to anyone unless you are prepared to be rushed and crammed into tight spaces. Or perhaps you enjoyed being yelled at and stressed throughout your trip. They even ask for tips after it's over... It's not like they don't make money off of this place already. Shaking my head...

I did get the permit for South Coyote Buttes and the trip was built around it. The cost for the different tours were discussed and confirmed. As we got closer to our trip, Chris emailed and called several times to finetune our trip. We are now back in Bakersfield. We ended up taking 3 trips with them. Rob Wulff was our guide. Rob was the ultimate guide, soft spoken and knowledgeable about the area including the geology. Rob was extremely helpful specially on our first trip which was an overnight stay at White Pocket. The weather was not cooperative with the wind blowing 40-45 mph. Rob made it as comfortable as he can given the conditions. He showed us the good spots photograph and also made sure as a group (5) we were constantly watched over for our safety. During our hikes, Rob made sure the pace was right for everyone. The cost of their tours were comparable if not less than the other tour companies. Their service was great. Their attention to the details was impeccable. We will be back for more tours with Chris. Horseshoe Bend was our first stop after checking into our hotel. The nice thing is it's not that tough to pull off. When you arrive, you have to pay $10 to park, and then a short hike on a most paved road (10-15 minutes) will take you to Horseshoe Bend. You'll be able to see this incredible beauty of nature from a cliff that overlooks it. The main area has a railing but there are also open areas off the cliff where you can see it, too. Be careful as your pursuit to get an amazing pic may get you in trouble if you're too close to the cliff's edge. A picture isn't worth risking your life. Take a couple of pictures, enjoy the beauty, and make your way back. You can easily visit Horseshoe bend in 30 minutes to an hour. The day before our tour, Julia called to let us know strong headwinds were expected and asked if we wanted to adjust our time. We already had a different morning tour scheduled, and they were incredibly accommodating with our plans. At the launch site, we met our guide Logan, and we were lucky that it was just our family of four on this tour. Husband and I wore aqua shoes and my daughters opted to wear their Birkenstock sandals and go barefoot, which was fine if you're okay with getting red mud on them. Logan was friendly, patient, and extremely knowledgeable. I was a bit nervous since I'm a beginner kayaker, but he let us move at our own pace. It ended up being a great workout while still feeling peaceful and relaxing. The scenery was absolutely stunning. The canyon was quiet, beautiful, and not crowded at all. We paddled across Lake Powell and into the canyon, and the cool lake water felt amazing in the warm end-of-March weather (mid-80s). They provided life jackets, offered bottled water, and Logan even took photos of us both on the water and at the end of the canyon, which we really appreciated. He also shared helpful paddling tips along the way. The entire tour lasted about 2.5-3 hours and was a perfect mix of adventure and relaxation. Our group completed the kayak and hike which were very much worth it! We needed slight accommodations and Sid and John were reassuring and supportive for both my mom and I. This tour is really for everyone and I can't recommend this tour company and John enough. Because we traveled during off season, we had the entire lake and trail to ourselves. John left much time for us to take cool pictures and was a wealth of knowledge. He made sure to engage with each person in the group and was successful in getting the more shy individuals to step out of their comfort zones. John and Sid (the other employee) made this tour worth it. They provided awesome recommendations for things in the area and also future outdoor related activities in the U.S. Be sure to pack enough water. Remember you are in a kayak and your items will likely get soaked. Luckily they provide one water proof bag per kayak which can hold your phone and camera. If you feel the need to pack more, I recommend that you bring your own waterproof back pack. I opted to go barefoot in the kayak and wear shoes on the hike. You will have to walk through water to get on and off of the boat. Do not let your size and fitness level deter you from this tour. The team is incredibly accommodating and reassuring, making this the perfect tour for all. Highly recommend this tour and either Sid or John!
