    Navajo handshake with Tracy
    Chris P.

I've been to Antelope Canyon before, so I went into the tour not expecting much -- but I was pleasantly wrong. Our guide Tracy was incredibly knowledgeable, not only about the science and history of the canyon, but also about Navajo culture. She started by demonstrating how the canyon was formed using water and sand before we even headed down. As we walked through the canyon, she shared photos and stories about things like Kokopelli, traditional Diné textiles, and the pronghorns from which the canyon gets its name. She even played the flute for us just as Navajo traders did all those years ago! Even though the canyon was crowded and slow-moving at times, Tracy never wasted a moment. She filled the quieter stretches with fun facts and took amazing photos for everyone (she had the camera settings on lock). Without her, I probably would've walked away with a few nice pictures and sandy shoes. But because of her, this became an unforgettable memory. Ahéhee Tracy! You were phenomenal.

Jourdain was amazing! I learned so much and captured great photos. He played his flute and it was an amazing experience.

Keanu was amazing!!! You need to do this tour- worth the travel here and the cost. He even taught us how to take the best pics :)

Jourdain was an amazing guide who kept us safe, educated, and engaged ! All our pictures he took came out amazing and I especially enjoyed the Native American flute song he played for us. Definitely would recommend !

I'm torn about what to rate the experience. I settled on 5 because the landscape and formations are so incredible, they supersede anything a human could do to ruin in. Take the drive to this remote area of AZ. Stop at horseshoe bend and also check out the Colorado River. This slot canyon is incredible. The way the sun interacts with the canyon walls is impossible to explain and must be experienced in person. The route consists of a short walk to 7 flights of metal stairs. Walking the narrow passageways, we stopped periodically for a hard to hear story or pictures. The guide was accommodating and took many pics for us, however he was so far ahead at times that made it difficult to hear about the history. Oh well. I let nature speak for itself. It's worth the drive for sure

The tour starts with a hoop dance for everyone to enjoy. You are then paired with and local guide who escorts you through the canyon. Sjodin was our guide through the canyon and was very friendly chipper and excited to feed us history about the canyon and the natives. She made the trip very fun and exciting. She gave us opportunity's to take pictures in spots she knew would create treasured memories. If you haven't been it's well worth the drive. You will enjoy the scenery and learn about the natives and the history on the southwest. Please visit the website to understand the does and don'ts. A must visit in my opinion. BTW the walk isn't tough but there are stairs

Dixie's antelope canyon tour was an amazing experience. Our tour guide Armondo was just as amazing full of knowledge and passion about the canyon. He truly made the experience ten times better than expected. Highly recommend booking your lower canyon tour with them. I hope to come back in the future and experience the canyon again with Dixie's.

Totally worth the price. This is such a unique experience and I love that the Navajo are the ones providing the tour. They share tons of information on the landscape, their procedure and tips and tricks for taking the best pictures.

ABSOLUTELY BEYOND WORDS INCREDIBLE. First of all, if you go to lower antelope canyon, AND AS A FELLOW NAVAJO WOMAN, I would sooooooo heavily encourage you to ONLY support Dixie Ellis Lower Antelope Tours. This company is Navajo owned and employees are about 90% Navajo. ALSO this is sacred Navajo land. I truly hope you spread the word to everyone about this. There are companies that offer this tour and have access but it's not native owned and there for doesn't support native lands or culture or people. I also over heard some of the tour guides from the other one, and they lack respect. Our tour guide, Cedric, is Navajo and was the insanely perfect. He was knowledgeable and culture oriented with true Navajo culture facts/ history, sharing our culture proudly and with intent to honor. The lands here are sacred, this canyon is where our wind and water gods reside so the essential importance of holding this in mind and heart is so gravitationally important that I can't stress it enough. So thank goodness there is a Navajo based company to uphold this tradition. The building itself is a larger HOGAN which is a Navajo traditional home and incorporates many traditional aspects in the design and decor. The gift shop has plenty of traditional based books and more. I felt proud to speak my language here and share this with my friends. Thank you in big part to the staff including mostly Cedric. The building is well kept, bathrooms available. No WiFi, atm on sight and portapotties nearby. You cannot enter the canyon without a pass or guide, no videos!!!!!!!! And be present!!!! Tip your guides and be respectful! Spread the word about this business over others. I hope you love this land as much as I do. This share and review is beyond words as my heart feels more than it could express. Thank you for your support of this business.

A definite must-see for those visiting Page or making the roughly four-hour drive from Phoenix. The canyon views were absolutely breathtaking -- no photo can truly capture the experience. Our tour guide was equally impressive, adding to an already memorable visit. I highly recommend buying your ticket online, weeks in advance. We went at 2:15 to catch the sunny skies.

    Bella T.

Our tour guide was very nice and told us all about the lower antelope canyon, pointing out shapes of the rocks along the way and even showing us where Britney Soears filmed one of her music videos. The tour itself was pretty easy. There are some stairs along the way and tight spaces, but otherwise, it's a pretty flat walk. The directions on our reservation told us to arrive 45 minutes before our tour, but I don't think that's necessary. 20 minutes would have been fine because check in took less than 5 minutes. I liked the gift shop and indoor exhibits. The tour seemed well-organized.

    Janae D.

Everything was great but what really set it apart for us was our guide Eder! He was fabulous, and helped us capture amazing photos.

If you're debating whether or not to visit Lower Antelope Canyon -- go. And if you're wondering which company to book with, make it Dixie's. I'm currently on a girls trip with my aunt and my 91-year-old grandma, and this experience exceeded every expectation we had. My grandma was nervous about navigating the canyon, but she was determined to experience its beauty for herself. Thanks to our incredible guides, she was able to do exactly that. Isaiah was beyond attentive from the very beginning. He was patient, encouraging, and made sure we could move at a comfortable pace while still enjoying every moment. A few minutes into the hike, he thoughtfully made sure we had opportunities to stop and rest when needed. Then Staci stepped in and completely elevated the experience. She cared for my grandma with so much kindness and genuine compassion, making her feel safe, comfortable, and included every step of the way. The level of customer service and care we received was truly exceptional. And the canyon itself? Absolutely breathtaking. The beauty of Lower Antelope Canyon is hard to put into words -- every turn feels unreal, and it is worth every single step. Thank you to Dixie's for giving my grandma such a special memory and making this one of the best experiences of our trip!

Ask the Community - Dixie Ellis Lower Antelope Canyon Tours

How is the security of the parking lot? Safe to leave a boat there while on the tour?

I would think so! There's plenty of staff around and in the building.

Where do you put your water, cash, and camera if no bags are allowed?

You can purchase a clear bag of $10 for your things or bring your own clear bag.

Are pets allowed on the tour?

I highly doubt it they allow pets. I did not see any on our tour. You have to climb down ladders, quite steep in places, it would be near impossible unless you were carrying the animal. I would plan to not take an pet.

Is this infant friendly, I am bringing my two year old with us?

Check this first and imagine 10x the crowd. You don't see a crowd here because photographers have an exclusive pass time where it's just them. https://youtu.be/QmUKF0NXb4o… Read more

Our tour was the last to return on May 25, 2026, and after being out for well over an hour our 10-year-old desperately needed to use the bathroom. When we walked down there he went to enter one of the porta potties and the woman who was cleaning SCREAMED "They are closed! Go away!" I'm not exaggerating. She did not speak rudely, she did not raise her voice, she literally screamed at our child. When we stepped in to say he was 10 and he needed to use the restroom she again screamed, "Well, you should have thought about that earlier and planned ahead!" We told her we had just walked off the tour bus and had no chance before that and she again screamed, "I don't care. They are closed. Go away!" The porta potty our son tried to use had obviously not even been cleaned yet. When we walked back to our car we passed someone else who was there at the main building and explained what had happened and asked if our son could please use the bathroom and he started laughing. His response was to laugh. And then he said, "I don't know what to tell you, maybe you can go find a gas station somewhere." We turned and went to our car as our son asked, "Why did that guy laugh at how mean the woman was to me?" That was our experience. Our tour was basically perfect. Charles, who led our tour could not have done a better job. It had been a perfect day until that point. We spent over $550.00 for the three of us to tour the canyon, in memory of my mother who recently passed away as this was her favorite place she had ever visited. What a horrendous and unthinkable way for this to end. Even after having paid an enormous amount to do this, the fact that no one found it in their heart to help out a kid who needed nothing other than to use the restroom is unimaginable. More than that, people were outright cruel. I cannot even believe there are people who would treat a child this way. I would never recommend this tour company to anyone I ever meet and will share this story with all of our friends and family when they come to vacation out west. They should be ashamed of themselves.

The tour is already $45 but you have to go in with the guide. They yell at you to get to one side and even grab you to move you sometimes. There was a guy that wasn't a part of our group that got yelled at for walking to slow. He turned around and told the tour lady he was taking a picture and she said she he stopped and held up the line. He was getting mad saying what's the point of coming in here if not for pictures. There's only one way in and one way out. As you're walking in there's other people exiting and squeezing through. You're limited to taking one photo at each spot and if it doesn't Come out good they tell you too bad you should've had your camera settings right. The tour lady pushed me to the side of the wall at one point as she screamed at everyone to get to the right. There's a photography tour price of $160 which looks like they get better treatment. They block the tourists so the photographers could get their shots. If you ask me there's too many people inside at once. We came here back in 2007 and there wasn't nearly as many people inside so you had some wiggle room. I think the Navajos are being a bit greedy trying to fit all these tours in. They should limit how many people go in per hour so you could at least breathe and enjoy it. The tour lady wasn't the only one yelling. The other tour guys were also yelling at their people. I understand everyone wants a picture but there's no need to be rude. Maybe if they managed their tours better for the crowd control they wouldn't have to be like this. At one point I heard the tour lady say a bunch of us were being annoying. Geez if this place wasn't so nice I doubt people would come. I keep reading the lower AC is better. I will have to check it out. For now I don't think I would recommend this to anyone unless you are prepared to be rushed and crammed into tight spaces. Or perhaps you enjoyed being yelled at and stressed throughout your trip. They even ask for tips after it's over... It's not like they don't make money off of this place already. Shaking my head...

She shared fascinating insights about the canyon, Navajo history, and even local flora and fauna, weaving stories throughout the trip that made everything feel meaningful and immersive. The tour begins with about a 15-minute drive to the canyon in either a Sprinter van or large SUV. Once there, the walk through the canyon takes about an hour. The hike itself isn't long, but there are currently around seven different tour companies, so everyone pauses frequently for photos (for good reason!). The route is a one-way loop, you enter from one side, exit the other, then walk up a short trail and down some stairs around a small mountain to return to the vehicles. I suggest wearing good shoes. Helpful tips we learned from Quana: There are two main Antelope Canyons: Upper and Lower. This tour company only offers tours of the Upper Canyon, which is shaped like an "A" (narrow at the top, wider at the bottom), making it easier to walk through. The famous light beams shining straight down only occur during monsoon season (July-October). The Lower Canyon, on the other hand, is shaped like a "V" with a much narrower floor. It often requires sand to be added for footing and is more prone to flooding after rain, which can lead to cancellations. Because of this, it's important to book your tour with weather in mind, clearer skies make the colors pop so much more. Quana didn't just share this knowledge, she also helped us adjust our camera settings, gave us the best photography tips, and was kind enough to take multiple photos for us. I truly left this tour feeling inspired, excited about Navajo culture, and grateful for such an incredible guide. If you can, request Quana, she made all the difference. I sincerely hope I get to come back one day. Thank you, Quana!!

I loved that our guide Marcus played the flute during the tour and explained how music helps to keep him grounded and pays respect. He also was very down to earth and was able to assist with photos and educated the group on the history of the canyon. Learned so much about how tell the age of the rocks and what different making mean. The Navajo people have done an outstanding job maintaining history and paying respect for all of things the earth provides. Things to note : bring water and a portable fan to help stay cool. There are over 100 steps without railing to enter the lower canyon. Take your time and rest when needed. Water is very important there are coolers with water long the routes. They is alot of red sand and it gets windy so wear eye protection and mouth covers. They will be a van ride to and from the entrance. Bring cameras and videos are allowed.
