The place is pretty, but that's not why I'm giving it 2 stars. They rush you in and out. Apparently if you stay passed 1 hour they fine you $100. The tour is already $45 but you have to go in with the guide. They yell at you to get to one side and even grab you to move you sometimes. There was a guy that wasn't a part of our group that got yelled at for walking to slow. He turned around and told the tour lady he was taking a picture and she said she he stopped and held up the line. He was getting mad saying what's the point of coming in here if not for pictures. There's only one way in and one way out. As you're walking in there's other people exiting and squeezing through. You're limited to taking one photo at each spot and if it doesn't Come out good they tell you too bad you should've had your camera settings right. The tour lady pushed me to the side of the wall at one point as she screamed at everyone to get to the right. There's a photography tour price of $160 which looks like they get better treatment. They block the tourists so the photographers could get their shots. If you ask me there's too many people inside at once. We came here back in 2007 and there wasn't nearly as many people inside so you had some wiggle room. I think the Navajos are being a bit greedy trying to fit all these tours in. They should limit how many people go in per hour so you could at least breathe and enjoy it. The tour lady wasn't the only one yelling. The other tour guys were also yelling at their people. I understand everyone wants a picture but there's no need to be rude. Maybe if they managed their tours better for the crowd control they wouldn't have to be like this. At one point I heard the tour lady say a bunch of us were being annoying. Geez if this place wasn't so nice I doubt people would come. I keep reading the lower AC is better. I will have to check it out. For now I don't think I would recommend this to anyone unless you are prepared to be rushed and crammed into tight spaces. I'm going to be really real - when I saw the price of this tour I almost didn't do it. Paying over $70 for an hour tour of some rocks sounded borderline insane to me - but I'm so happy that I did. Antelope Canyon is truly a natural wonder and once in a lifetime experience. If you find yourself in Page, AZ, cough up the money and go. We did the upper antelope canyon tour at around 2:30 pm, and everything about it was perfect. Great temperature, beautiful light shining into the canyon. A knowledgeable host who taught us all about how the rocks were formed. It's so hard to describe this place, you really just have to go. The only drawback was that we were in a group with an influencer who was hogging the photo ops hard, but our tour guide was great about getting her the pictures she asked for and shooing her away so that others could take photos. 10/10. Make sure you get a reservation in advance as it fills up. read more

This place is definitely worth the hype! And I say that as someone who drove for over 3 hours from Cottonwood to Page. The tour was led by Sunny, a real Navajo man. He took our group to the area (which is on actual Navajo territory) via a van, and it was a slightly bumpy but fun, scenic ride. Throughout the tour, Sunny gave us lots of information about the history of the Navajo people and the canyon. He also helped all of us snag some superb photos and showed us some cool features inside. I don't want to reveal too much, but I'm sure you will enjoy the tour. The price might seem a bit steep, but I think it's worth it. You are technically on their land, and they're being gracious enough to allow us into areas that only they have access to. Alongside the actual drive and the information provided on tour, your support goes directly to the people who maintain the canyon. It could be a once in a lifetime experience for you. Truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Tickets aren't cheap to visit Antelope Canyon -- only accessible via a guided tour from the Navajo tribe -- but the price is so worth it! I think I paid $108. This was a great tour company and very organized with herding our group and keeping us on schedule. Our guide was great, I forget her name now, but she gave us pro tips on taking photos (vibrant mode) and even took our photos throughout the upper canyon tour, which was quite kind of her. It's a bumpy ride there, so keep that in mind and try to sit closer to the front of the bus. It's cool inside the canyon, and then it ends with a mostly uphill walk that is not tough in the slightest, as the incline is manageable. We attended the noon session and were able to see some light beams -- my favorite part. read more

Antelope canyon itself was extremely beautiful and definitely a memorable experience. However, I do think the tour company could have done things better to make a better experience. It was a little unorganized in the beginning when we were at the office, they put too many people in our group causing us to be the last group while sorring it out. We visited the Upper Canyon with Lamar Oct 28 10:45am. We arrived over an hour earlier since we didn't realized the Canyon was a different timezone than Sedona. Lamar was personable and shared interesting facts throughout the visit. Prior to entering the canyon, he educated everyone on how to set their iPhone or Android phone for optimal pictures. He also took pictures for everyone in the group who wanted family pix. He is a very talented photographer, utilizing a flashlight to capture amazing family memories throughout the canyon. As we entered the darkroom of the canyon, he walked everyone through the steps to change the phone setting so we could continue capturing vibrant pictures in the second half of the canyon. Antelope Canyon was certainly an amazing spectacle to see! The tour was about 2 hours in total. The drive to the Canyon from the pickup location was about 20 mins each way, with about half of that being through a rough unpaven road through the sand to get there. You spend a little more than an hour through the Canyon itself. My tour guide, Oscar, was very knowledgeable and helpful throughout the tour. He helped talk through the history of the Canyon and also helped out with picture opportunities. I gave it 4 stars because I think the tour itself was a little pricey ($85) and also because you kind of feel rushed to get through the Canyon. All in all though, I do think it's worth checking out! Prior to our 12 noon reservation this past Saturday, we received an email reminder of the do's and don't. On day of we arrived early at their office to check in. We were instructed to be part of the yellow group. We went back to our car parked by the Pizza Hut and waited til 11:55am. Rosie was our driver/tour guide. She led us to an open air 4x4 truck. The ten of us piled in sitting sideways. Then it was a 20 minute drive to the slots. Once at the slots, Rosie led us in. She did a nice job of explaining the nature of the slots, and how the slots were discovered. She also suggested where we needed to stand in order to capture the best possible shot. She took a picture with someone's iPhone which showing an image of an heart. I stood where she suggested and took my own and showed it to her. Nope that's not it. Oh well. We had to keep moving. Rosie acted like a photographer by taking photos of us using our smartphones family by family posing and capturing the colors. Walking through the slots we had to continually look upwards toward the sky. We spent about 40 minutes touring the slots. If I had to choose between Lower Antelope & Upper Antelope I'd go with Upper. The slots are wider allowing for more depth and natural lighting. Set your iPhone to vivid warm as suggested by our Navajo guide from lower Antelope Canyon the day before. You'll get some great enhanced photos. I carried a backpack with water. But it wasn't necessary as the temperature was in the 50's. Not thirsty at all in the forty minutes or so touring the slots. We exited the slots and took a newly constructed ramp back to the 4x4 truck. Before Covid you'd return the same way you came but post Covid you made a loop. read more

The only way to see antelope canyon is through a tour, and they make it really easy. You show up 30 minutes before your tour and they drive you 20 minutes to the canyon. You walk through the canyon and they drive you back. While you wait for your tour: there is a bathroom in their shop, a donut shop and a coffee shop in the same area where you park. The drive: it is 20 minutes in total, the first 10 on a road and the last 10 off-roading. If you get car sick, beware it is a bumpy ride! The tour: the tour was fine. I think some of the other tour guides were better, but it was still good. Ours showed us where all the good spots are to take photos. Parking is easy. Overall amazing experience, would highly recommend! My group of friends and I went on the first tour in the morning with Sunny (apologies if misspelling his name!) as our tour guide for upper Antelope Canyon. He was a great guide and incredibly friendly as well! Apparently, mornings in late Fall or Winter offer some very unique lighting within the canyon because of where the sun is in the sky and the shape of the canyon; we went during this time of the year and the views within the canyon did not disappoint. Additionally, we were told that midsummer is best for lighting in lower antelope given the difference in the shape of that portion of the canyon. If I'm mixing this up please correct me! Upper Antelope is a bit of a drive from the meeting point to the trailhead and there are no restrooms or water out there, so make sure you plan for this. I've done lower Antelope Canyon on a separate trip can I can safely say that both are very very worth seeing, and if you're debating about whether or not to pay for an excursion this one is definitely worth doing - definitely don't skip if you're in the area! read more

Culture shock , today was my first time in my life i officially meet an indigenous Navajo which makes sense since I'm in Navajo territory, Page. Culture shock for Cindy , today was her first day she met a Burmese. We shared how to say Hello - min-ga-la-ba and Yá'át'ééh in each other's language. For that duration of time we was connected like the Wi-Fi #blessed If your reading this please don't post any pics of inside the canyon itself because pictures hide the true beauty. One must come here to see it with their own eyes as it's creator intended. The natural elements water and wind play a huge factor when creating this beautiful masterpiece. It's truly a masterpiece with its all mighty artist filling in the canvas one stroke at a time one day at a time over the years . I found truly surprising the tour guide not asking for a tip initially or even at the end. It tells me a couple things about that individual. Although it's posted at the end of the vehicles not everyone sees is or knows it's mandatory to tip your guide. So please tip your guide accordingly. The tour begins by meeting at their "office" which is located in a retail strip mall. You wait out in the parking lot at your designated "color" pick-up spot. Depending on the time of year, it can be very uncomfortable standing around waiting. When your tour car driver arrives, the van holds 14 people that are crammed into each bench seat. The drive out to Antelope Canyon is short, time-wise, about a 20-minute drive. The road to the canyon is unpaved, rough, dusty, and covered with loose sand where our van felt like it almost got stuck a couple of times. Luckily, we arrived all in one piece. (Tip): No bathroom facilities are available on the van or at the canyon. In fact, they warn you, if you have to "go", "Don't!", not even in the desert. Its silly. Why not put portable outhouses? Seriously. Prior to boarding the tour van, go use the bathroom across the street at the Circle K convenience store. Don't bother using their office bathroom. The tour of the canyon lasts just over an hour. This doesn't include the drive to/from or walking out of the canyon to the van. The length of the hike is only 150-yards. The tour consists of several stops where the tour guide explains the canyon formations, minerals, colors, designations, and other details. Our tour guide was friendly, spoke fluent English, very knowledgeable, and was very patient with everyone. He would answer any questions and was helpful in taking pictures of the guests. Picture taking of everything and everyone slows down the tour. You are prohibited from walking on your own or leaving your tour group. No liquids other than a clear water bottle, backpacks, only clear handbags are allowed. There are plenty of photos on social media sites of Antelope Canyon so I wont inundate you with more. Suffice it to say, it is beautiful, a natural wonder, and worth visiting. However, the price is a bit steep for the tour. We paid $100/pp. They tack-on a parking fee & processing fee. We felt $50/pp would have been more reasonable. Total time spent was about 2 hours. Would we go again? Probably not. Were we glad we went? Yes. Why a 3-star rating? Too pricey. read more

As you may or may not know, as a consumer, you have a handful of options in exploring Antelope Canyon, and if you're anything like me, it can be difficult to make a selection. As warned as I was, I don't think I understood the extent and true accuracy of the reviews for this company. Let's be clear, the canyon itself, and this company's knowledge of the canyon are remarkable. There are a handful of natural factors that alter the nature, availability, and experience of these tours daily...well hourly, and the teams knowledge of the canyon allows them to navigate and speak to these factors with ease to ensure a safe and rewarding experience for all. The 11am tour will offer different light compared to the 2pm tour. Rain at 10am, will change the way you experience the 2pm tour day to day, and the ever changing nature of this formation itself will alter the tour options offered To the curious consumer I offer a few notes: *the meeting location is easy to find with ample parking BUT ensure you book ahead. *there is only one bathroom at the meeting location which can be a challenge when lines form...but there are zero bathrooms at the canyon, so prepare ahead of time, especially if you're bringing kiddos along. * the trip to the canyon is...rugged. If you're looking for a plush ride, this is not it! Although you have a covering overhead that protects from the sun, you're otherwise exposed and jammed in pretty close to your peers. As the route is 50% paved and 50% off-road, I highly recommend bringing a light scarf for face and eye protection as a hat may easily blow off into the wind at these speeds. If you have a weak stomach, or are easily ride sick, beware...some of these bumps may do you in! *you're only allowed 1 backpack per group/party. *alongside other public tour companies, I'll agree, you are doing the canyon marathon. Your time is rushed, although informative, info sessions are short, and you're pushed through at a pretty rapid pace. We personally did not get our "instagram worthy birthday canyon photo" but that's okay, we still enjoyed the experience. If general exercise is a challenge, this experience may feel difficult. Next time we'll likely kayak horseshoe bend and explore canyon X or book a more exclusive (albeit pricey) experience, but for a first visit to the canyon, I'm incredibly thankful for this company and this experience. read more

If you have a chance, we highly recommend requesting Rick B as your tour guide. There is another Rick so make sure it's Rick B. He has been doing this for over a decade and he is the absolute BEST! You can easily book your tour online but make sure to book in advance as they do sell out. When we were waiting for our tour, many people were turned down because they were completely booked till Wednesday and we went on a Saturday. Make sure to dress comfortably the day of your tour. Also, arrive 30 minutes before your tour. Make sure to sign your waiver prior to checking in to help expedite the process. We finished our breakfast early in Page so we got there 50 minutes early. This wasn't a problem because we took the time to check out their souvenir shop. We ended up picking up a couple magnets for our fridge. While waiting, Mink was freezing so we ended up buying a sweater to keep her warm. She had a jacket and a BLANKET but she was about to get hypothermia lol. The sweater saved the day and she was able to go on the tour. They give you a receipt after check in with a color. This is how you know which group you belong to. Each group is about 7 people. It's a nice intimate size and smaller group size is due to COVID-19. This was perfect because we all got BEAUTIFUL photos and didn't have to rush. We were told that double the amount of people would be on each tour prior to COVID-19. Masks are required during the entire duration of the tour from check in till you get back in your vehicle to leave. The ride over to Antelope Canyon is about 20 mins each way. Your actual tour is about an hour. This is plenty of time to learn about the canyon and take photos. You will love this tour and make sure to bring cash to tip your guide. There are a few tour companies that conduct tours at this canyon on tribal land requiring permits, which is why the tickets are pricey. I went with this company because it is Navajo run. I have seen pictures of the caves and I must say it is quite an experience. Make sure you have time to digest your meal beforehand as part of the voyage is on a 2-3 mile unpaved road, which is a bit bumpy. Your ticket includes transportation and a tour guide. I enjoyed "Jenn?" as a guide. There were three groups from this tour company at the site. It was well paced with ample time for photos. She even helped stage and frame the spots. I also enjoyed her anecdotes, which is a personal lived history rather than a metanarrative. It is about a quarter mile inside the caves, and a 5-10 ten minute climb up a hill to exit. This is not much of hiking experience. If hiking is what you are after, I would consider Horseshoe Bend on your own. I like how the groups were no larger than a dozen people. My group only had seven. The vans looked like they had seen multiple tours. However, it is only a 10-15 minute drive from the office to the canyons. They do a few tours, the upper and lower Antelope Canyons. I went on the upper, and one of my fellow visitors went on both. He said they are comparable, but the lower requires going down ladders. I don't know about other companies, but this one has a lot of caveats about cancellations, refunds, health, etc. Just make sure you are committed and note the weird time changes as you enter Page. I booked two months in advance and there was only one spot left for the day and time I wanted. read more
