Everything was delicious restaurant was clean and the staff was very friendly. Good place to eat will definitely eat there again.

Ken is the worst pizza restaurant I've ever experienced. They are way overpriced, the food is terrible, and the restaurant was dirty as heck! I got it, it's an AYCE pizza buffet. It's not going to be the greatest but for price it should at least be edible. The pizzas were room temp at best, crust is like rubber, the sauce a sugar laden tomato mess and cheese was horrible. The counters were filthy covered in grease and dropped toppings, the floors were the same as the counters. The one saving grace was one of the bus lady's. I believe her name was Maria and she was super nice, we had a great time chatting with her, distracted us from the god awful and dirty everything The only thing that actually was good to eat were the brownies. Great old school salad and pizza buffet, including multiple types of dessert pizza. This place has been in Tyler for years and there's a reason! Most pizzas are thin crust, Mazzios style (there is a family connection between them). Buffet is available on the weekends as well, which is always a bonus. read more

TERRIBLE SERVICE. My dad decided to take all of his grandchildren to eat before they head back to school and we literally had to stand at the pizza bar to fight over pizza. I went to the front to ask the lady what the issue was and she said they had five families come in at one time and if you have seen the establishment it was built to hold around 20 plus if not more. We were also told that oh it isn't our fault that the family before you took the entire pizza bc they are coming out one at a time a an empty buffet. How do you blame you not being able to keep up with five families on another family that also paid and I'm sure was waiting on food just as we were. Not only that I said well can a discount be provided since we are not getting a Buffet which is what we paid for and I got it is not our fault so $100 later our family is still hungry and the food was TERRIBLE!! They have a nice buffet. Also, clean and roomy so it's great for a decent meal. The problem is the noise. It would make a better experience if the staff would not throw the pizza trays around when restocking the line. They could also turn the music up a bit because you can hear a faint sound of music but between all the banging & clanking coming from the kitchen, it's hard to tell. read more

This used to be a family place. It isn't anymore. Not only did the food get bad, but all the booths were disgusting. They have what seems to be a 10 year old working there also- Which is against the law. They are playing FAMILY GUY on the tv in the dining area. Ok as you can see the pic is not a full pizza! Sorry I had to eat it some and then do the review lol. Y'all this pizza is crazy good!!! I have never been here my husband use to come to ken's when he was a child after church on sundays and has great memories of how good the whole lot they have is. So today I wanted to try a pizza place I have never had since we were in Tyler. So we choose Ken's. Best choice ever!!! We ended up getting three large pizzas with thin crust on all. One meat lovers one pepperoni and this awesome spinach Alfredo!!! There literally was no pizza left!!! Everyone dug in! And to all the bad reviews because it's a old building and what not!! Who cares!!! I rather have good pizza then a new building! Heck they have been making pizza since 1961 y'all!!! That tells me that since they are still going then they are doing something right in the pizza department right!!! I couldn't go in to eat because of the COVID-19 so we picked them up! I couldn't wait to get home to eat the first piece I snuck one while driving!! So yeah if you want a awesome good pizza and you love thin crust then you will love their pizza. Went the other night for dinner around 6PM. There were a fair amount of people in the restaurant. Overall, the tables were clean. Their food/buffet was horrible. Dried out, old pizza from being under the heat lamp for too long. Pizza wasn't coming out, and I watched multiple people approach the buffet line and walk back to their table without food. I know people rave about their salad bar... I don't get it. read more

And what appeared to be several very young children working. Such a badly run restaurant. I couldn't find the manager. No one knew where she was. The bathrooms were covered with urine. Since their move to the new building, their food seems to have gotten better. I have only one complaint---their senior buffet is nearly twice that as CiCi's. It cost me and my wife around $24.00 with the senior discount at Ken's while it is just $15.00 at Cici's. We like the variety at Ken's (Spinach Salad) but CiCi's does offer anchovies which I love while Ken's doesn't. read more

Avoid at all costs. We learned the hard way, Kens Pizza in Tyler is... disgusting. This place makes a Cicis Pizza look like a 5 star restaurant. Remarkably, the pizza had a decent looking presentation... might come out ok in a iPhone photo... but thats where it ends. The food was dry, bland, old, and stale. The pizza was not fresh, and even if it had been, the flavor and quality of ingredients are just above the bottom. The salad bar looked the part, but the frozen, thawed, and frozen again ham cubes were chewy like bubble gum. Nasty. The place needed to be swept up, and cleaned up, cob-webs ran in the corners as a old TV blared a cartoon from a make-shift shelf in a corner. 30 year old neon signs saying GAMES pointed to a sad game room with a collection of arcade machines unrivaled by Angry Birds on a modern phone. The best part about my visit, was the part when I left and vowed to never return again. Terrible. read more

I am a Tyler native. I have loved Ken's Pizza since I was a kid. I've taken each of my kids to Ken's Pizza all their life. I recently moved back to Tyler after being away for several years; I was pleasantly surprised to learn that Ken's Pizza had bought a new building and moved. With much excitement, we went to Ken's very soon after moving back. I was sadly disappointed in what I witnessed. I am a chef and have run a catering business and a cafe. I know food service. The pizza was good, the same Ken's I knew and loved. My concerns lied with the condition of the brand new location. Walking in, during a slow time, with very few customers, the floors were filthy, food all over the floor, all over the salad bar, all over the condiment bar. It was not busy, they had time to clean the dining room. There were plenty of employees, it just wasn't being done. I mentioned my concerns to the manager. She was nice enough to give me a free buffet and proceeded to complain about having "all these kids working" that she couldn't get to work. Having been a cafe manager, and having college age students as workers, I know that the work ethic of the team is directly correlated to the manager and how they run the place. Since that time I have returned 3 more times, hoping for better conditions. I have been disappointed in my findings. Today, after months we decided to give it another try. Again there was food all over the floor, food on the salad bar. The floor mats in front of the drink station appeared to have never been cleaned. These should be cleaned at least once a week. The base boards and walls around the drink station were filthy. There were booths that were littered with food, even though the table had been cleared. From experience, as a chef and restaurant manager, I know that if the staff is leaving major things undone out where the customers can see, then they are not keeping things clean in the back; where no one can see. I love Ken's, I love the pizza, but it's just not ok to have such a filthy dining room when there's plenty of employees to clean. It would behoove the owner to hire a professional restaurant consultant to come in and do some training. read more

This place is a sad little exoskeleton of part of my childhood. I remember the post-soccer game meetups in its heyday. The wood paneling is still holding the place up in vain, while the game room gives off the worn-out musk of a Baptist church preschool room. Ken's has been a part of Tyler for as long as I can remember. I'm not sure why the negative reviews on here, but our experience has ALWAYS been positive. The lunch buffet is delicious and always well-stocked; service is always friendly, and the quality of food is what you'd expect to find on a pizza buffet. (The cheesy fried potatoes are awesome!) Ken's IS a Tyler landmark; they've been here for years. It has something of an aged feel to it, yes, but that's a poor reason to give it a negative review. The food is great, the staff is friendly, and the buffet is always filled with fresh hot pizzas. If your only complaint is about the paneling, the decor, or the tiny little arcade they offer, stick to your bland, tasteless yuppy food joints that serve Sysco's finest canned meals and keep being sad. read more

We heard kens pizza was good so we decided to try it out. The pizza was pretty good... Until my son pulled a napkin from the napkin holder and an entire fake finger nail came flying out. I was horrified and told the server. Her response was just as horrifying "it's probably just a servers nail, she must have lost it refilling the napkins. Want another table?".. I don't care whos finger nail it was, thats disgusting and unsanitary. They didn't seem to think there was an issue with this. She even acted annoyed when I refused to hand it to her.
