Very poor communication! I went into this location of Ken's Car tunes on a Thursday with a buddy to see about getting an amp and sun installed. My buddy also wanted to get an amp wired for his car. We were given quotes we both felt decent about and asked when they could fit us in for installation. He said he could get one of us done on Friday if we dropped the car off. The next morning at 930am I did just that after again calling to confirm they could have it done. I waited around Mobile after work that day and finally went in at 5:50pm to pick up the vehicle. I was then asked if my ride left because my vehicle wouldn't be done that day. I was frustrated but obliged and got another ride and went home several hours after I could've been home had I know the work wouldn't be done. On Saturday I waited around until noon and finally decided to call and check on the status and I was nonchalantly told "oh yeah it's done." Great, so now I got another ride for the 35 minute drive again from my house to finally pick up the truck. I am very perturbed with the lack of communication. All it takes is transparency and communication. I had plans to bring my other vehicle to get a sub and amp installed as did my buddy but now we will go to another location or business all around. The system does sound great as expected from Kicker and an audio professional installing it. read more

I stopped in to Ken's to begin replacing the radio and speakers in an 04 Wrangler. I walked out with a full set of speakers and new satellite capable head unit. It's a small store with a private parking lot, and doesn't seem to have a ton of stock. When you look around you discover audio and marine options from Raymarine to Alpine to Kicker! The real reason I went ahead and got the system was the sales guy Rammy! Rammy is awesome and the whole reason I bought the system. He was polite, able to answer all questions, and steered me away from aspects that would annoy me, and made it an absolutely awesome buying experience! I have a Kenwood dnx990 radio that the led screen went out can you repair it.also I have a jl hd amp that will come on but no sound r bass comes out replaced the bass knob that's good but can y'all repair it also.i don't want new stuff I just want mine repaired.to good of set up to want other stuff.if u can't maybe you can tell me someone close that can fix it.thank u,dale read more

Called to get a quote for installation of remote starter in my Mercedes was quoted a price from a very nice person from the Springhill Avenue store. Two weeks later had time to take it to have it installed and because of location I went to the government street store and unfortunately met the manager who decided he would try to gouge me an additional $300. So I left that store and went to the Springhill Avenue store where I got the quote but the manager called ahead to make sure they would not give me the price I was quoted. Watch out for bait and switch with them. My plan is to never go back to Ken's car tunes and tell everyone I know not to go there or trust them. read more

Good Car Audio shop. Brought a bad installation job from a shop down the road to Kens, and they had no problem working with me to fix it. The manager Dan was extremely helpful, and very professional. I ended up purchasing JL Audio door speakers, amps, and enclosed sub box from Kens. This coupled with the repairs they did to the inferior installation job from the other shop, and my Nissan Frontier sounds amazing. Best car audio set up I have ever had, by far. Highly recommend this shop. They will work with you to get the set-up you are looking for. Got my 2016 corvette stereo upgraded there. Initially I took it to a competitor and they told me they didn't know how to do the stereo and they'd call me in a few days. I waited and they never called. I decided to try Kens and they were more than happy to take my business. They upgraded the whole stereo fixed the subwoofers the other place had put it in one year ago. They called me almost daily giving me updates and I could tell they really appreciated the opportunity to work on my car. The car sounds amazing!! The bass no longer overpowers the other speakers. The heavy metal jams with a huge backbeat and you can hear every sound!! The hip hop bass booms and you can hear ever bit of music and rapped lines! It's quite amazing!! Thank you!! read more

Twice, after taking working equipment out of one car, did I take this equipment to Ken's to have it reinstalled in a new car only for them to tell me my amp was not working both times in an attempt to get me to buy a new one. Also had them install an auxiliary cord and within three months the cord ending wiring has snapped at the base of the jack. Take your business elsewhere; they are more interested in repeat money than happy customers. read more

Ken's Car-Tunes JUST DOES NOT DO A GOOD JOB I have beeen there 4 times for the same issued and it is still no fixed correctly. VERY POOR WORKMANSHIP. So last November I bought a set of JL Audio TR650-CSi due to my right front speaker in my car was blown. They had a decent sell for black Friday I figured why not. I had the install done a couple of days later which took all day to get my car done and was up there until after close. After I listened to the first song I knew something was wrong it still sounded horrible on both sides now not blown but vibration all throughout the doors. I took it back in multiple times over the next few weeks during these times each taking around 4 hours or more to look at it. Then they played ignorant like they couldn't hear the rattle when my girlfriend was standing right next to me saying she hears it loud and clear from outside the car. So then they made me buy dynamat . So I buy it with a guarantee this will resolve the issue, I'm up there again until a little after close at which point the installer breaks the clip for my driver side door handle and the plastic panel where you grab the door to close it. He uses a zip tie as a (temp) fix until they get the part from Honda. A week later they say they have it, I rush over on my lunch so they can fix it, just to find out they have the wrong part. You would think that would be the first thing you check before telling the customer you have it. Best part of the story is the dynamat did not fix my issue. They finally get my part a couple weeks later installed but never ordered the door panel they broke I guess they *forgot*. So I still have the issue and I go up there and Jerry and the owner I guess is who it was listens to my car. says they can't hear it even though it is very easy to hear and anyone else I let listen to it could hear it instantly throughout every song at some point. They offer me a 50 dollar partial refund and say they will look more into it to try and make me happy. I said well why not at least I get my money back for the dynamat that I shouldn't have had to pay for to begin with. I dealt with them all the way into February. So I leave it alone for a while was going through some life events well in August this year I realized I couldn't hear the tweeters. I look and ya they are not there. Apparently when they installed them if that's what you call it, I say they throw them in and hope for the best, but that's just from experience what do I know. Anyway Jerry confirms they fell inside the dash he gets them out of the dash and I hope properly installed them this time. Now at this point he can hear the vibration coming from the doors. I ask what they are going to do about it because it's not my fault it has the dynamat it was professionally installed by them. He says he doesn't know he has a frequency disc and I don't have a working disc player so he tells me he will try and get it in mp3 format so he can aux it in and find out what frequencies are causing this. He said he will call me in a week that was almost a month ago. I'm tired of this ridiculous situation. The only recommendations they've come up with so far was buy an aftermarket radio and amp and let them clean up the sound. I'm thinking you've got to be out of your mind if you think I'm going to let you do that especially since you would have to touch my dash which I kind of need in one piece, second you have to bypass the factory amp, and third and probably most important that's going to push more power to the speakers meaning more bass = more vibration = the original problem amplified. I had to stop myself from laughing and saying some things I would regret. I just needed a quick fix for a blown speaker which in all actuality I should have just left it that way sounds about the same.
