I can't believe I can't leave zero stars. This place has to have the worst customer service I've experienced yet. After laying out a turnaround time of two days, I sit here 11 days later still without my laptop and am now being told its at least two more days. After asking to be kept up to date, I have not received one phone call from them to let me know what's going on and when I have expressed my disappointment, the female "manager" has been defensive instead of apologetic. The people here don't Know anything about computers. I took my apple laptop on Saturday March 4th 2017, with a booting problem. The Manager Katrina spoke nicely, ( thats what I thought, at that time ) and said 50 dollars for the diagnostics and may be up to 150 dollars to reinstall osx, and said she would call monday with the exact quote on March 6 th 2017. I did not receive any calls until 11:30 AM, hence I called at 11:55 AM, 1:30 PM and 3:13 PM and she said she is running the diagnostics every time I called and said she would call me in a few minutes. I told my wife to go at 5 PM and ask her what is going on and she told my wife that the mother board is gone and would be very expensive to repair and my wife asked for the computer and she brought the computer home. It is now 8:41 PM and I am typing on the very same computer. What did I do then: I called my son, and he helped to install the OS X operating system and is working fine. Lesson Learned: These people tried to rip me off, don't know any thing about computer, By the way, I saw some fish tanks in this store and they should sell fish instead of telling people that they know about computers. I wish I could leave ZERO stars ! Do not take your computer to these people! They are the worst at customer service. Especially the dark haired woman with very bad skin . She was extremely rude and nasty in how she talked to me. This person should only handle computers and not be allowed to interact with the public as she lacks interpersonal skills . I thought maybe she was having a bad day but two weeks later, my friend also went there and received the same treatment from this lady . Not to mention these guys took forever to get back to me about my computer which was never fixed. If you have any computer issues these guys aren't worth the time and effort . Everyone hates taking their computer in for repairs, and I'm no different. It always seems like they gouge or take advantage, since they possess knowledge that you probably lack, similar to auto repair. I'm no idiot when it comes to computers, but I lose patience while trouble shooting problems and can afford to spend some money when I simply don't have the time or inclination. Recently I lost the audio to my computer. I spent a solid four hours troubleshooting, installing drivers and such, and couldn't figure it out. I had to take it in if I was to solve the issue. I had an idea that it was a hardware issue, but I couldn't prove it or diagnose it myself. I take some responsibility that I didn't ask enough questions and that I wasn't clear about what I wanted, but basically they told me that my version of windows was "corrupted" from viruses and that backing up all my info and installing a fresh copy of windows would "probably" solve my problem. I was happy about that, since I ASSUMED that they knew what they were talking about. I should have probed deeper at this point, asking what they could do to see if it was a hardware problem first, but I gave them a go ahead on a $200 repair (I have a lot of files that needed backing up). It turns out (and I wasn't surprised) that it was a hardware problem after all. I just spent $200 for them to clear my computer of viruses, which I have no doubt existed since windows really sux. I could have done that myself, but I probably would have waited until my computer was nonfunctional. All that I wanted was my sound fixed. If after paying for a $50 inspection they told me it was a hardware problem, I would have spent the $50, thanked them, and been on my way to writing a positive yelp review. Instead, I'm telling all you fine people that you have to be savvy when dealing with computer repair places in general. Ask too many questions and be clear about what you want. I took my computer in because it would not turn on. They told me it had a virus and the start button was broken. When I got it back it worked once but the on off button still was not working right. It now will not turn on at all or the screen just flickers. All so when I got my computer back they had deleted my Microsoft office software and downloaded their soft ware. So I had to spend time deleting and fixing that only to have my computer not turn on the next day. They charged me $250.00 and my computer is worse than before! read more

RUDE & unprofessional! I never patronized this place in all the decades living in Midtown Mobile. However, I spent 15 minutes in there today after a quick Google search. I will NEVER go back. Had 2 Dell laptops that I thought had been popped by a lightning surge. I was also suspicious of the one power charger cord I had been using to charge both. Maybe the surge got that cord too. I figured The Computer Crew could try charging one of my laptops with one of their power cords. The first associate who greeted me was very helpful. She quickly found a used power cord and plugged it into one of my dead laptops. Wouldn't you know, it worked. She proceeded to boot up the system and was going to check to make sure the charger was registering correctly in my laptop. Out of nowhere, her Manager (I'm surmising, or owner) came from the back and immediately started throwing up road blocks to what her associate was doing to assist my problem. She started saying that what her employee was doing was considered a "diagnostic" and it would be $50 and to leave my laptop with them for a few days. What kind of sales tactic is that?? One employee is seemingly helping me thru a simple problem while the other halts that process and starts commenting that the diagnostic currently in progress has a fee. I was aghast. I couldn't believe how insolent her actions were and how I was being treated. After explaining my laptops were under warranty with Dell and that all I wanted to do is find out if another power cord would work, I was told it would be $100 for 2 diagnostics and to leave them for a few days. I was dumbfounded by the response. I then asked simply if they would plug their used working power charger into my other dead laptop to see it it would work too. The Manager's response: "No" because they "couldn't guarantee it wouldn't hurt my laptop." What??? I grabbed my laptops and broken power charger and walked out. They absolutely handled this situation unprofessionally. Their customer service is horrendous. I wouldn't trust them with repairing my computers at all. What they did was absolutely wrong and the way I was treated was undeserved. I do NOT recommend this computer repair company and strongly encourage anyone seeking computer repairs and "diagnostics" to look elsewhere. read more

Did not tell me about their 30 day policy. If you do not pick up your item within 30 days, IT BECOMES THEIRS. Brought them a laptop that wasn't powering on, they told me it was the Hard Drive, I'm no expert, but I don't think the Hard Drive would effect it powering on/off. Got a call from them asking if I wanted it fixed for around $340. I said no and that I would be by to pick it up. When I got there, they said it wasn't put back together yet and somebody would call me. They never called and when I finally just went up there on my own accord, I was informed that it had been over 30 days and my laptop was now their property. STAY AWAY if you don't want your property stolen. On top of that , they were very rude about it, the worst was their so-called manager, she was very un-professional and frankly didn't care that The Computer Crew STOLE MY LAPTOP. Please read the other reviews about this business and see that this is not an isolated incident. They don't deserve your business, please go elsewhere. read more

What a fantastic experience! I was amazed at how quickly they were able to check out my computer. I had taken it to another repair shop, only to be told after 2 weeks that they didn't know how to fix it. Luckily, with The Computer Crew, that wasn't the case. When I called to see if I needed to make an appointment, the lady on the other end of the phone was very helpful and made me feel comfortable right away. I was treated with courtesy and respect from the moment I walked into their door. The technician that worked on my computer was thorough and let me know what was going on. There weren't any undisclosed charges, I felt in total control. I will be using this company for all of my computer problems and would recommend them to anyone I meet. read more

I downloaded the Yelp app and created a profile, just so that I could write a review about how awful this business is. I took my computer in to get a new keyboard. After two weeks, they still weren't "able to find a keyboard for it," so I picked it up and went home. Got home to find out that they had "ran some tests" on the computer, which made the computer was completely messed up. Oh also, I got on google and found hundreds of replacement keyboards for this laptop. read more

I was frantic when I spilled my drink in my laptop. I thought for sure it was fried! I took it to Best Buy and was told they couldn't do anything for me and recommended that I bring it to The Computer Crew. When I got there, they explained the possibilities but ultimately, the diagnostic test would tell them what was really damaged, if anything. I was thrilled when they called me to tell me about the findings and they only problem was a few keys sticking on my keyboard and it needed to be replaced because of the soda I spilled. The repair was totally worth it and now I have my laptop back working better than ever. They were up front with me and I respect people that do what they say they will do. I will recommend them to everyone that asks for computer help and if I need them, I will definitely go back again! Awesome experience. read more

I recommend you steer clear of The Computer Crew. The Computer Crew does not guarantee their work and stacks the deck against their customers. After paying the $50 diagnostic fee, my wife authorized their technician to make the $248 repair he recommended to correct an intermittent problem with the laptop she depends on for her out-of-town presentations. Less than 24 hours after picking it up, the same problem occurred so she took it back to them. Upon further investigation, they stated that this was a different problem caused by a different component and they weren't sure it could be repaired. I picked the computer up and requested a refund since they had not corrected the original problem. They refused and I told them I would see them in small claims court. Their response to the court summons was a provision in the fine print of their repair contract which states that by signing the repair authorization, the customer acknowledges "there is no guarantee of work performed" and all disputes must be settled by arbitration and that the customer is responsible for all legal expenses incurred by The Computer Crew, even if The Computer Crew is found liable!
