When I did get it returned finally, the work was still not completed. I was still missing pieces that should have been installed. This man cannot be trusted to use your money wisely to fix your vehicle. We were told that he would pay for our rental car by him, however, the checks that he wrote to us all bounced. He sublet work to Simmons Rockwell and when it came time to pay for the work, he didn't have the money, so I was responsible if I wanted to get my car back. When the insurance check came for that work, he spent the money, and I never saw it. It has now been almost 11 months, and he owes me $4600 plus interest. After taking him to court, the judgement was in our favor. He said that he doesn't have any money to pay, yet he is still accepting vehicles to work on. This is completely unacceptable and people should be aware so they do not go through what we have been through with him.

We began receiving excuses like family health problems, wrong parts etc. finally after numerous phone calls 4 months later we called and were told it would be ready by the end of the week. We picked it up on March 3rd. When my wife got in the car she was appalled. She said she had a feeling they were using her car. The car was brought in with 7 bars of gas on the gauge. When she got in the car it had less than one and the emergency gas warning was on which means you have less than 25 miles left to get to a gas station. That means whoever was using it put on between 100-150 miles. They left a coffee cup in the car along with merchandise tag for shopping purchase. To make themselves at home they even accessed the tape deck. We were to drop off another car to have work done. I think we'll look elsewhere for a more honest and reputable shop. The shipping charges for a flat panel front fender were outrageous, should have been $16 to $26. He charged $150.

When I asked how much the estimate was Kim said she did not know. She was just calling me to tell me they had finally looked at the car and sent in an estimate. When I called a few days later to see what repairs were approved and when would my car be finished. I was told they sent the estimate back to Geico. I was never given a straight answer so the next day(1/29) I had Geico call them for me. Gerber asked did you get an estimate for the value of the auto? I again called Geico and was transferred to a "loss of use" specialist who informed me my car's damages according to Gerber exceeded the % of the retail value of the car.

From the estimate to the drop off and pick up, and the rental car, the folks at Gerber were easy to work with and the repair work they did is outstanding. My truck looks like new. The manager, Al Ritzler, should be commended for the outstanding work and customer service.

I told him that I didn't care what the car looked like (as it is getting older) but that I just needed it to be fixed so that it was drivable. He stopped what he was doing, brought out some tools, and fixed it up right as I waited! I was thrilled and extremely grateful that he was willing to help. He didn't charge me for the work that he did at that time but let me know what the parts would cost to fix it "right." The estimate he reported to me was under $100. He was very willing to accommodate my upcoming busy work schedule as well, which is great as I didn't get a rental car. After West's closed, I was worried about where I would go to have my car fixed in these type of situations that arise... I am relieved that there is still a body shop in the area that doesn't just try to rip you off! This is the place to go! :)
