I would rate this higher stars if I could…read more I was 2.5 hours into my 5 hour trip, and I heard a loud and unsettling THUD sound as my fender fell off and hit the highway. Pulling into the nearest auto repair shop I could find, I am so thankful I pulled into this one. The fender damaged the speed sensor wire. Joe (the owner) called around to many places to get that wire as he knew that I had 2.5 more hours in my journey. Each place he called did not have that wire. It was past the usual time to order things as it was getting late in the day, but he was able to pull some strings to order the parts for first thing in the morning that very next day. This didn't just feel like a cheap quick-fix repair shop, I felt completely taken care of. I went to a different repair shop back in November for my fender, and only 5 months later, it fell off again. While I cannot predict the future, this repair shop really does the work to make repairs that last. I am completely confident I'll not have my fender fall off again. The cost was not just simply reasonable, but it was an excellent deal! I told my uncle what I paid (as he knows way more about cars and repairs than I do) and he said he couldn't believe it was that good of a deal and expected it to be significantly higher. Considering the cost for the parts, and that he was able to pull strings and order them for the very next morning, and the superb quality of the labor, I definitely lucked out. Lastly, they go above and beyond. I just met Joe, but talking to him felt like talking to a old friend. He was friendly and professional to every customer. He could sense I was stressed and didn't have a strong background knowledge about cars, he took his time to explain stuff to me in a way that I could understand. He answered all my my questions with professionalism and honesty. Unlike other places, he didn't try to sell me extra services I didn't actually need and suggested ones I should consider sometime later this year. Despite just meeting him, he is very trustworthy and he goes the extra mile for you. If I didn't live 2.5 hours away from Corning, I'd solely go there for any and all future car repairs

My Jeep has been pulling HARD to the right and burned off the outer edge of the passenger side…read morefront tire in 5K miles (last rotation). Because I purchased the MOPAR Max Care warranty, I brought it to Chilson Wilcox for service, assuming that being a "certified" Jeep repair shop actually meant something. They told me my tires were at 33 PSI, and not the recommended 37, but that everything else was fine. Their only recommendation was to just keep rotating my tires and burning them up. I got back into my Jeep after the appointment, and they had overfilled my tires to 41 PSI and it still pulls hard to the right (no surprise). When I called back to see what they recommend, they said that I could drop it off and they could *try* and figure it out, but that their labor charge was $160+ per hour. I should have known better than to take my Jeep to Chilson Wilcox after I looked at a Gladiator there a couple years ago and asked if the LED package could be added to any trim. The salesman said that he thought it was only available at the "Sahara" trim and above... I bit my tongue and didn't say anything, but anyone who knows anything about Gladiators, ESPECIALLY A SALESMAN, should know that there is *NO* "Sahara" trim for Gladiators. This place is a joke and an insult to the Jeep brand.

They took longer than what I expected with an appointment. They said one of my lightbulbs was out for the license plate & made me pay for a new one before passing it which is whatever. I'm disappointed that I have to write this, because when you find a shop you like, you stick with…read morethem. For about 6 years this was my go to place. I've had brakes done, oil changes (when I couldn't be bothered to do it myself), bought tires a few times and had those changed, inspections, and more. (I typically perform standard maintenance myself.) The employees and manager(s) were always fantastic and helpful. It was one of those places that said, "Hey your cabin filter's probably due for a change. If you want to do it yourself it's not hard, but we can do it for you for $X or Toyota might do it for free if you still have a maintenance plan with them." I used to work in my father's automotive and body shop and don't trust other ones easily but this is the type of response that makes me feel good about the place. The irony is that with this trust came recommendations. While they might not make bank on me, we've sent scores of people to them. However, today I brought in our two vehicles for inspection. I had called a few weeks before and the usual cheery voice got me on the schedule. As I've had simple issues before that would lead me to not pass, I checked the basics yesterday so i wouldn't have surprises today. After bringing in my first vehicle, I got a phone call saying that my car would need a new driver side wiper blade to pass as it was torn. I didn't mention the fact that I had checked it before bringing it in, assuming that the tech must have done it by accident. Also, it was raining the night before and I had rain on my windshield on the way there. I would notice if the blade tore off from the end on the way there. It wasn't that big of a deal though; the wiper was about 9 months old anyway. She asked if I wanted to replace the wipers for $50. Of course I asked if I could just run back over and put one on myself as I already had a set, and whoever called (I was told later it was the manager) said that would be fine. It's happened before and there was never an issue with this. (Again, it's why I checked the wipers before bringing it in.) I live about half a mile down the road and was there in less than 10 minutes. I walked over, changed the blade and walked in to have them finish up the paperwork. As an aside, the blade was torn inches (!) from the end, flapping in the breeze, so clearly not the way it was when I checked them the night before or when I used them on the way in. I was charged for the inspection and got my keys back. The person at the counter then asked what day and time I'd like to come back for a re-inspection since I had failed. That threw me for a loop. I explained the situation, and that it was only a driver side blade (probably torn by mistake) and that I was told on the phone I could just run over and replace it. He apologized and went to ask the manager and came back to apologize again and inform me that they'd be okay with fixing it right then, but that they'd still need to charge me for the "re-inspection." I think he could see how absurd it was and checked again. I paid because it wasn't worth asking him to go back a fourth time. I would understand if I failed for brakes or something more catastrophic and needed work done, but it was a wiper blade (that wasn't even torn when I brought it in). It truly feels as though it was done out of spite for me choosing not to pay for wipers when I already had new ones. Anyway, my wife decided she didn't want to have her car inspected there after that, and I agreed, so we canceled the appointment. We were also planning to get new tires for her car so opted out of that too. If the new management is going to be this petty and destroy the relationship, it's not worth going there anymore. There are plenty of other places around to try.

Returned on Tuesday as scheduled and was told I would have a long wait and they suggested I return at 2pm. I returned and I waited for 40 minutes and then requested my keys back. They had no intention of accommodating me. I think they hate women.
