This place. So my Hubby and I tried this place a while back. It was nothing like I expected. The place was really crowded and we had to wait to be seated. The inside of the place resembles a fresh indoor seafood market. The food was not so fresh. For starters we ordered the fried pickles. The pickles were the highlight of our meal. I ordered the Roast Beef sandwich. The roast beef was thin slice deli meat masked in thick low-quality gravy. the bread was tough and difficult to bite through with my pearly whites. So I had to result to using a knife. The sandwich had absolutely no flavor. I unable to finish any of it passed the initial 1st serving. My Hubby ordered a Fried Shrimp platter. The shrimp did not match the fresh market decor. The shrimp appeared to be frozen prepared shrimp. This was not my cup of tea. Everyone's experiences food differently I get that. My client wanted to take me to a local spot, I said sure. They said food is great and the service is fast. Well, we arrived at 11:45 waited 30 mins for a table no issue. When we got a table, it went downhill from there. We ordered and thought the food was entered. I ordered blackened catfish well done. Now I travel weekly for work and in different cities, the owner tried to tell me it takes 30 minutes to cook three fish filets. The food CE out room temp, the fish was not well done. I took 3 bites said nope, not eating this. To make it worse we saw three tables that were sat after us, get their food and leave before we got ours. I complained and one woman who was the manager and extremely rude, talked to the owner and said they got their food in a hour it's ok! She didn't do anything to make it right, so I said let me talk to the owner. Now this butch woman came out, immediately looking to argue, said you're our first complaint ever. We are busy and you can't base your food readiness on what other people oder. It takes longer to grill food than to fry. I'm like really? It takes 45 mins to a hour to grill thin fish fillets well done? Not to mention the food came out cold. Not just mine, but my clients who are locals. To make matters worse another woman jumped in and wanted to give her input. I said look at it from where I'm standing, 3 tables after us, served, ate and left before we got our meals. The waitress never apologized for the wait, she avoided us. But the way the owner spoke to me and was unwilling make it right, was the issue. With attitude, she asked "well what do you want me to do"? I'm like it ain't about the money, but why should I pay for a meal that took 45 mins to deliver and it was cold. You'd think that customer service would be important, but I guess they figured because I was black, they could treat me that way or they assumed I couldn't afford the meal. They need to learn how to treat people with respect and if there's a problem with the meal or service, listen to what the customer has to say. Don't become defense and raise your voice, especially cause I was not treating you that way. Yeah, they took $20 off, but the amount of time it took, to have them correct their mistake was truly uncalled for. Yes I will be sharing this experience on all my social media feeds. In the past 2 weeks I have purchased 15 pounds of crawfish to go. I have gotten crawfish from Kenner Seafood for years. Now they are apparently "grading" crawfish where the large go to dine-in and the small go to pick-up orders. These crawfish averaged 3"-4" with many "straight tails". Obviously they've gotten so big the little pick-up customers don't really matter. Call me one of the ex-customers. read more

You simply cannot get better seafood in Kenner. Stingrays and Harbor gave way too much batter. Kenner always comes out hot and fresh with good fast service and has great tasting seafood. My favorite, too much to list. Catfish is wonderful. Crawfish are outstanding when in season. read more

This review is for the crawfish, one of the best in Kenner problem is they let their shrimp and crawfish sit out so it gets room temperature. They should consider using a different form of warming. When it's a busy season it doesn't even matter because they can't keep them in stock. Lovely place might feel a bit of racism/or simply that you don't belong if you sit and dine in. My first time ordering takeout off their menu. Previously, I ordered boiled seafood. I ordered a fish plate and fried okra appetizer. I could not eat the appetizer because they sprinkled Parmesan on top, why? Well I am lactose intolerant so it was a wasted. I really wish restaurants would stop using cheese as a garnish without clearly stating on the menu that the item contains cheese. While visiting New Orleans today my best friend said let's go get some raw Oysters for lunch. Hook me up! I wasn't exactly sure where to go so he said let me handle this. We went to a place on Loyola Drive in KENNER just off I-10 called Kenner Seafood. If you didn't know where it was you'd drive right by it. Parking was right next door but tight like most good places In NOLA. It was unbelievable. As soon as we walked in the door they had a glass cold cabinet full of fresh boiled crawfish, boiled shrimp, boiled crabs and Oysters; everything was right there. I knew I was in Seafood Heaven! We walked through the little store and went to the restaurant area in the back. The place is not very big and had a good crowd for lunch. We found a table immediately and ordered a dozen raw Oysters with all the right fixins! They were huge, salty, and perfect. Sooo good! Next I ordered six Baked Oysters Rockefeller. Our Server said it may take about 15 minutes cause they make em fresh! I was in food Nirvana land. They were big, steaming hot, covered with buttery spinach and cheese cream sauce and seasoned just right. I savored every one and wanted more. My buddy had a plate of Crab Claws in Vinagrette Sauce. Yummy! Said he's on a diet. Mine starts next week! Had to chase it all with a cup of Seafood Gumbo. It was full of crab, shrimp, and sausage. Sooo delicious! I was drinking Barq's Root Beer through it all. This is not a high profile fancy joint. The walls are covered with classic framed Jazz Fest posters. It's all about great NOLA classic food! I was going crazy watching the delicacies coming out of the kitchen for other tables. The service was prompt and N.O. Friendly. The restrooms were okay. The prices were more than fair. In the event that they delete my post on FB, I figured to post here too..... This evening we ordered Kenner Seafood off of Doordash, we were skeptical about ordering here for a second time because the last time we ordered from Kenner Seafood we received po-boys undressed. WHO ORDERED PLAIN PO_BOYS???? Well tonight was just as bad. We ordered half and half shrimp and oyster po-boys. I specifically made sure that I put in the comments section of each po-boy "that we wanted the po-boys DRESSED (Mayo, Lettuce, Tomato)". Well when I received the the order, I immediately noticed that there were no wrapped sandwiches. When I opened the "boxes" platters not po-boys were delivered. I'm sure you all are thinking (eye roll) what the big deal, right? Well let me tell you......... We called to ask what happened with our order, I was told by their wonderful customer service person on the phone that I didn't order po-boys, that we orders platters. I explained to her, Ummm No actually I didnt, I began to elaborate that on Doordashes website "half and half" was clearly under the "Po-boys/Sandwiches" section, (see screen shots below for your entertainment) on both Doordashes website and the same is on the app. Go check it out. So she continues to argue her point and I asked her if I didnt Order a po-boys then why would I add in the comments section to make both po-dressed?? Shouldn't your kitchen staff have questioned this? She said yes I guess they should have questioned this FACT. She then told me that Doordash puts their m'enu on Doordashes website. I then asked her, should Kenner Seafood want to know if their menu was CORRECT????? I didnt stick around on the phone long enough to hear her answer. Oh I'm sure her answer was they were going to make Po-boys, and we were welcome to come pick them up, yeah right, we were the ones that were in the wrong, right? But honestly I really dont think she would have owned their mistake based off her previous answers, so there was no point staying on the phone, I just hung up. I will NEVER eat or order food from Kenner Seafood again. Oh and BTW the gumbo sucked. Advice, get your menu correct, you may want to think about how you handle customer service issues. read more

When I think of NOLA seafood, I think of places like this, places where the staff knows the regulars by name and they have daily specials and pies for you to take home for 1$ at the end of your meal. When I walked in, I was greeted by a friendly man named Bryan who asked me my name and told me about the hot spots in NOLA and kept the conversation going while I waited for my food. The whole atmosphere was wonderful! We ordered two pounds of boiled shrimp at 12.99$ a pound, a crawfish blossom appetizer, two orders of the chicken and sausage gumbo and an order of the green beans to go and it took about 15 minutes. The boiled shrimp were HUMONGOUS and so delicious! They were almost a meal in and of themselves because of their size. So good! I loved the crawfish blossom. It was like a bloomin' onion from Outback Steakhouse with fried crawfish in the middle. It was a little soggy because we did get it to-go and I'm sure it would have been nice and crispy had we eaten it there but it still was very good. The horseradish sauce was a nice touch. I don't know that it was Outback quality but it was still good. Maybe a tad bland? The fried crawfish were amazing! I could have eaten them all by themselves. The gumbo was FANTASTIC! I am a gumbo connoisseur and I've had it in many cities and states and this is some good gumbo. We really enjoyed the seafood and the chicken and sausage but we definitely preferred the chicken and sausage. It was chock full of chicken and sausage and veggies and had a delicious broth and I even had some left for lunch the next day. The green beans were nothing special. I'm pretty sure they came from a giant can and had absolutely no seasoning on them. I probably wouldn't order these again. Some bacon or some onions would have been a nice touch. I will definitely be back. Parking was kind of complicated. There are only four spots right up front but pull into the parking lot directly after the building and park in that lot. They do offer to-go orders, fresh fish, their own fish fry seasoning, homemade pies, and even frozen alligator for you to cook at home and other delicious things! In addition, we had a bowl of seafood gumbo which is very good and 18 fried shrimp ( their Tuesday special) and we had to leave food on the table because it was too much. My husband and I had 2 lbs of crawfish, a cup of seafood gumbo, side salad and a huge bowl of red beans& rice with smoked sausage. All for well under $30! The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. We opted to eat on the patio; the weather was beautiful. We were seated almost immediately at 5:30. Food was okay, the highlight of our meal was their oysters we both ordered the raw and charbroiled and both we're good. I had grilled pork chops for entree and it was alright nothing spectacular but the big let down was their crab claws because you can tell they're frozen when you bite the meat it doesn't separate easily from the claws. Love their boiled crawfish and their sides. They're one of the few places where you're guaranteed large ones- will gladly pay extra to suck on them heads, pinch those tails and gnaw on those claws! Love eating most of them mudbugs! Reasonably priced, usually hot and personally seasoned, some of the best crawfish anywhere around. And their sides are cooked perfectly too. I always come here if I'm anywhere near this place. Definitely worth it. Dined in a few times and haven't had any complaints. Pasta is good as well as their fried seafood. Po-boys are overflowing and use good crusty French bread. They also have daily specials so I've tried their stuff bell peppers. All are pretty good! Only I would avoid are their salads. Limp iceberg with 2 tomatoes slices and 1 cucumber isn't my idea of yumminess. So come for the crawfish. Stay for the rest of the food. And make sure you save room for their bread pudding. read more

I ended up finishing at a site earlier than anticipated, so I had some time to grab a pound of crawfish. As of last week, it's $4.69/lb for dine-in (incl. tax) and cheaper if you take it to-go. Corn and potatoes are not included. I gave two stars for two reasons: 1) Service. I sat down at a table (seat yourself per the staff request) and waited ten minutes before someone acknowledged my existence. Given that this place is only ten minutes from the airport, they should know that there is a certain population of people who will be in a hurry to get to the airport. Once I got my food, the waitress checked in with all the surrounding tables periodically except for me. She also took another five minutes to leave the bill (pay at cash register). When I tell a waitress that I have to get to the airport and all I want is a pound of crawfish, it's not that hard to close the tab. 2) Quality. The crawfish were salty but not spicy. They were okay, but I can make better tasting crawfish at home. There's no depth to this place's crawfish. Usually using garlic, oranges, etc. will add great flavor, and if this restaurant does so, you can't taste it. The crawfish were TINY (tails half the size of my top thumb joint) and cold. Boy, do I miss Steamboat Bill's in Lake Charles! Unless there really aren't any other options near the airport, I will not return! read more

I have traveled and I have tasted many different foods from all over the US and some internationally. Being from NY, there's an advantage to good food bc you know what it tastes like. I've lived in FL which means seafood is fresh and well made. My daughter got the chicken parm and the sauce was so overloaded with sugar she could barely eat it. I got fried shrimp and they weren't good either. We left majority of the food behind paid our bill and let them at the counter know we weren't pleased. The manager took of some of my seafood cost and that was it which was fine bc I knew I wouldn't return. I informed her of how much sugar she's got in the sauce and she stated people around here love it that way. Okay cool?
