The first time I came here was few months ago, it is very close to my place and it is always busy... so I gave it try! I was very disapointed, after 5 min waiting standing ( not nice when 5 months pregnant) my capuccino decaf. the girl appologize telling me " Oh I just realise there is no more deca... sorry!!" I was not coming back... But yesterday was another story! I was hungry and needed to go to the loo so I decided to give them another chance. I have been pleasantly surprise. I had a mix strawberry ( mmmmm delicious kinda scone with plenty of big strawberries at the bottom ) with a capuccino decaf. It was FAB. The staff was very nice, quick, helpfull and smiling. The ladies is very small ( but let's say that I am huge : 39 weeks pregnant now - can't see my feet anymore!) was clean and tidy. The small terrasse is also nice on sunny days!!

I had a scone and a cappuccino here and both were delicious, the staff are excellent too. They sell teas, jams and nuts. They also serve main courses like Shepard's pie for about 10 euro and judging by the plate that the man next to me got it's really good. He stuffed himself so quickly. They also do sandwiches and breakfasts. It's a popular spot with the locals.

Good tea, good coffee, good food. Food portion on the border of being small. You definitely won't be disappointed but lacking of wow factor.

I 'm disappointed with their tea and coffee..I love a good cuppa with a sandwich or treat, the tea they use is weak and their coffee is just ok. It's really well organised, and they bring your food to the table. It can get very busy and you're left walking around or standing looking for a seat, or sometimes sitting on top of strangers. On the other hand, the staff are so ready to go by closing, they are cleaning away your table and really forcing you out at 15 mins to closing, the last time we were there is was super rushed, which was a bit of a let down. I'll get it to go next time!

I say "specialises in", whereas I actually mean "deals exclusively in". Go there and try to buy Toffeepops or some Supernoodles and you're out of luck, mate. The Food Room do juices, wraps, quiches and all that malarkey, which are all very nice, but the place is a right pain in the hole if you want to buy normal groceries. The Food Room is part of a wider Clontarfian malaise: there are very few normal shops in this part of Dublin. A friend of mine lives but an asses roar from The Food Room, which is really handy for her when she wants to buy birthday cards, but not much use when she wants a few messages. I'd quite possibly be giving this place a better review if there were more real shops in the locality.

Initially, we simply purchased a coffee here at The Butlers Pantry where we were greeted and efficiently served. A few minutes before, we stopped at the Thunder bay Bakery, literally a few doors down, and purchased what was the most awful pastry -- Dry, tasteless and served with a side of Awful Service. So, we figured if we purchased coffee here (The Butlers Pantry) we could try to wash down the lunk of a pastry we purchased at the other bakery. Dunking food usually makes it at least palatable. Alas, it was no use, we ended up tossing the nasty pastry and getting 2 more coffees here and the pastries! *************** BEST CHOICE EVER. The chocolate Croissants were delish, and fresh. The croissants were baked to perfection. There were a lot of fresh choices there and we are happy we found this to indulge in a pastry as we walked to Dollymount Strand. We still talk about the pastries here months later! They were that good and we will return when we holiday in Dublin soon!

Sometimes this can be well rewarded - like the day I managed to pick up a delish pre-packaged but gourmet baked salmon and potato salad for half price (which made it around 3.50 and cheaper than buying a sambo). Other times it's not so great, like when you order a cute looking vanilla cupcake and bite into it expectantly, only to discover it's actually icky lemon flavour... Coffee and tea are served here, as are some delectable sweet treats, but on the downside there are no chairs and tables to eat them at. The Butler's Pantry would do well to invest in a couple of outdoor tables, to attract more bassers-by away from the neighbouring cafes in Clontarf village.

Kennedy's Food Store and Deli located on Vernon Avenue serves the most amazing full Irish Breakfast. Upon Entering Kennedy's of Clontarf my family and I were made feel very welcome and were directed up stairs. We were immediately seated to a table up stairs and immediately were taken care of by the amazing staff. They immediately brought us fresh water and menus . We all ordered the full Irish Breakfast and various breads for the table. The water tasted so fresh and was presented in really nice glass vases. The bread was so fresh. It was not long after after we were served fresh coffee and tea. The staff continuously checked on us but not to the point of being annoying. They made us all feel very welcome. They all took a lot of pride in their establishment, jobs and taking care of their customers. Our Irish Breakfasts all arrived in great timing and everyone enjoyed them. The Black, White Pudding, Eggs and Irish Sausages were absolutely delicious. It should be noted I am originally from Dublin, Ireland, served in with the US Marines all over the world, and traveled all over the United States. I definitely know a great place for Breakfast. Kennedy's of Clontarf is absolutely amazing and met my expectations of how an Irish Full Breakfast should be served and presented. The establishment is very clean and has very clean restrooms. If you are from Clontarf and have not being home in a while. Kennedy's occupies the formed Tighe's Butcher Shop that had a major presence in the area for many years.
