Fajita burrito and Irish burger. Burrito good. Burger, not so good. Cold and dry.

Mediocre food, horrible service. Came in on a Thursday night for dinner. Place was crowded, but we found ample space at the back bar area. The bartender eventually came over and I knew we were in trouble when you could read the RBF from 30' away. Started with an order of wings in a 'chili & salt" rub, along with some sauteed onions. Never seen that before but the whole dish was delish! After about an hour, I had to ask for more drinks. We eventually got our food, a 'fajita' on the menu, but prepared and serves more like a fajita burrito, and the Irish burger. The fajita was the best food my daughter has had on this trip. The burger was cold. Not that anyone cared, RBF never came back to say a thing. Had to walk up to the bar to get the check. Never once was asked how things were or told thank you for dining with them. Obviously, customers are annoying to this server.

Entering from the street you see a small bar...through the next door is the HUGE restaurant. Interesting history, great interior, delicious food, friendly service, fun cocktails - this was a great dinner experience! Was walking distance from Clontarf Castle Hotel (and was recommended by the front desk staff). And...worlds largest French fries. Each fry was about 1/4 potato. Huge!

If you are looking for an amazing pub and restaurant in Clontarf, Dublin, Ireland. I definitely recommend going to The Yacht. This bar is located on the main Clontarf Road and is very well known in the area due to being in the area for many years. Obviously it gone through a lot of renovations and updates over the years. This establishment is great for meeting up with friends for drinks, for lunch and dinner. The bar has plenty of seats, tables on the ground level and upstairs. If you visit during the week for lunch. The Yacht has the most amazing carvery. Great selection of entree's, desserts and coffee. It has being selected as one of the best place lunch over the years in Dublin. Honestly does not surprise me. The lunch was absolutely amazing. I also went to the Yacht for Sunday dinner. Our party ordered drinks to our table and all enjoyed an amazing dinner in the upstairs area of the yacht. Honestly the whole establishment is clean and has very clean restrooms. I was very impressed by all the staff that we encountered at the Yacht. They were all very Professional and took pride in their jobs. Definitely loved the back ground music also. Took me back to the 1980's. It should be noted I am originally from Dublin, Ireland. Traveled all over the world with the US Marines and all over the United States. I definitely know a great bar from all my travels. Also the Yacht was my Dad's local bar during the 1960's and 1970's. If you talk to anyone In Clontarf or from the area everyone seems to have great memories of this establishment. I definitely will be returning to the Yacht upon my next visit to Ireland. Definitely a must visit when staying in Dublin. Lastly the Yacht rates ten stars and more!!! Excellent Experience upon entering the establishment till we left.

As mentioned, The Yacht decided to close its doors for a complete refurbishment. They have now reopened and my review is a positive one. First impressions were very good, the place looks great from the outside and it got more than just a lick of paint. Inside was crowded but there was no problem finding a space at the bar. I don't usually drink Guinness but I just had to try it since they used to pour a very good one - I wasn't disappointed, it was perfect. Not sure if they serve food or not but its my understanding that they do, I will no doubt be going back on another night when its not as busy. All in all, I am a very thankful local that The Yacht is back and better than ever.

Preumably, The Yacht won't look like this anymore once they're done with it.

I became worried when I saw the hoardings up around The Yacht, as I thought they were going to go the way of a lot of northside pubs: closed down and turned into an apartment block (more on the reversal of that trend later, though.) Turns out The Yacht isn't being torn down, they're just giving it a bit of a face-lift. In fairness, they'd want to be mad to close The Yacht, as it's the only pub and off-licence for some distance, so they do fairly good business there. And on a sunny day, you have to get there really early in the day if you fancy getting a seat outside, as there are plenty of people who'll be wanting a spot with a view of the sea, which is only over the road. Lovely spot, roll on the new look Yacht.

i really like the food in here. carvery is not too bad and you can actually ask for 1/2 portion and not be under 12. but i like the late menu best, the pasta with chicken, bacon and rocket is really good and a good sized portion. tried a couple of cocktails, the pina colada and the woo woo and i would'nt be going regular for cocktails. but after a long walk from fairview to the wooden bridge they are nice and refreshing. the decor is relaxed and comfy but this place doesnt seem like a place id go for a night out but rather for an early evening.

Small menu, appears fancy but not, we tried multiple meals as there were 4 of us, nothing was amazing but nothing was bad.

The pub is quite large and can accommodate a large party such as ourselves for the afternoon. Lots of TV's to catch a match and craic to feel at home. We had a lovely veg soup upon our arrival to take the cold from the gravesite out of us and get the warmth back in. The soup was piping hot and light enough to leave room for a lovely tea sandwich or two. And the tea sandwiches were served with crunchy rippled cheese and onion crisps (Hunkey Dorys) that complimented the sandwhiches nicely. The service was a bit scattered but can't slag them considering we were quite a large party all at the same time. Once they got going they were friendly and attentive. The Guinness was nice, the tea and they make a lovely Irish Coffee as well. To you Uncle Paddy, it was an honor to sit in your local and celebrate you!

Thought provoking albeit populist musings on systemic corruption in Irish politics are always offered. For smokers, the front patio offers spectacular views of the sun setting over Lorcan Avenue.

Why they called it The Bram Stoker I have no idea, once you stepped inside there was nothing to do with Bram to be seen. Anyway, the batman, who I would think was the owner, was very friendly and I ordered a beer. But when I asked about ordering the chicken wings he said he would get some one to come down to me. As it turns out there is a restaurant, called Indigo, down the back of the pub and they cover all the food orders for the pub. It took quite a few mins before she appeared, though she was very friendly. The 'large buffalo wings' left a lot to be desired, they were not large by any sense of the word. I went with the BBQ sauce as she informed me, when I asked, that 'Franks sauce' contained Tabasco. They were alright but they weren't going to fill me up for the night. Before the waitress had come down to me I had asked the barman if he had any newspaper I could read. He said he was sorry he didn't but offered me a tourism magazine he had at the end of the bar. (it was in pristine condition and I would say had only been open a few times) After news, tourism would be my next best read in a pub... And I always like to know what Bord Failte are spewing to the tourists, what crap is m***pages.ie? :p Anyway I digress, finished the food and tried looking for the bill, going to the bar as I couldn't see the young lady, and was informed she would be sent down.... Another few minutes later. All in all the pub and barman were very nice and welcoming, the food delivery situation - and the food itself - leave a bit to be desired. Come in here for a quite pint if you are tired walking along the Coast Rd path..... You can't miss the big sign.

The rooms are very basic - no luxury here, no sir. Hard mattresses, 80's furniture. The afternoon we checked in, a dog in the neighbor's yard (the rooms face a row of residential back yards) barked nonstop for two hours when we were trying to take a nap. The staff seemed baffled when we told them, and not particularly helpful. The staff is the hotel's main weakness. There was a very unfriendly woman waiting tables when we went down to the restaurant and our waiter was an absolute snot. He made it more than clear, waiting on us was a big hassle for him. The reason I give the hotel a three is they have a beautiful, inviting restaurant and a surprisingly great craft beer selection. If they can upgrade the rooms to match the restaurant and fire the rude staff, they might have something.
