Enjoyed the Rooftop for an early birthday celebration and it was perfect! First of all the views are some of the best in Chicago, the cocktails are delicious (and strong), and the food is quite good. We loved that were heaters as the Windy City loved up to its name, but we stayed nice and toasty. Would highly recommend for a girl's or date night! read more

When I made this reservation, I was not aware that the inside was a hotel lobby. Nice waitress, but rest of the staff was not accommodating. Charcuterie board was not worth what we paid for it. The view was amazing but outside was closed for a private event. Worth it if you can get a table outside! read more

For some time rooftop bars and restaurants have been very trendy. However, most of them are only open for dinner or cocktails. Which is fine, but if you don't go out drinking a lot they really can't be enjoy that much. That's what I like the vibes at Kennedy Rooftop. Yes l, you can definitely go drink there and have dinner there, but you can also have brunch there. I've been here twice, but my most recent visit was for brunch. It was a beautiful late spring day and I loved being able to eat brunch in the warm weather. First, the food was very good. I ordered the avocado toast, breakfast skillet, buffalo wings, a margarita and hot coffee. While I enjoyed the everything I ordered, I especially liked the breakfast skillet. While it wasn't a huge portion, it was cheesy with fluffy eggs and nicely cooked potatoes. It was super cheesy and I gobbled it down quickly. Second, the ambience is amazing. The day I was there is very sunny. I enjoyed eating in the sun. When it got too hot, the manager closed a retractable cloth cover and it provided some good shade. The views are also amazing. You get views in all directions, from looking East to the lake to South to the Loop and skyline and West to Bucktown/Wicker Park. I'm sum, this is a must visit brunch spot in Chicago. read more

I visited this rooftop for happy hour and it started out good. The margarita flatbread was okay and the Coconut Mojita was pretty delicious. Apparently there is a 90 minute reservation that was never shared with me however the manager Jen decided to rudely bring it up after I had been there for 2 hours and told me and my friends that we could move to the bar for additional service. Even when I explained that none of the servers shared that expectation she continued to argue with me that they did. Again she wasn't there so she wouldn't know. Regardless I will not be back after she harassed me leaving the bar and walking back to the elevator to remove myself from the situation. The 3 stars was for the terrible service at the end of my visit and I will not recommend our wedding party to attend the bar while here for the wedding! read more

If you want unobstructed views of the Chicago skyline for your next date night, birthday dinner, or happy hour, this is the spot for you. They mostly have bar food. In addition to my mocktail and my dad's Stella, we tried a few items from the menu. Mango Shrimp Ceviche El Pastor Pork Sliders Rooftop Double Stack Burger Skillet Cookie If you want to check them out during happy hour stop by Monday through Friday from 4-6P. You don't have to worry about parking because free street parking is available if you find a spot on Ashland. read more

Me and the homies came by here this past Saturday during the mini storm. Kennedy Rooftop is located at the top of the Hyatt Hotel right on the SE street corner of North & Ashland. We decided to sit outside within the tent as the storm was too unpredictable, coming and going, to sit on the non tented side of the roof. The view is pretty damn good and worth the trip over...see attached pic! Serge was our server and a pretty good dude. I started out with a whiskey sour which was good. I then went with the mezcal margarita in which I didnt love. One of my guys decided to go with the top shelf margarita in which Serge told us included Don Julio. I followed suit and got the same thing. Was so good we had about 3 more of em lol! We worked up an appetite with all that drinking so we ordered garlic parmesan wings, empanadas and the 606 meat & cheese platter that included nuts, dried fruits, pickles, bread and crackers. Everything we got was very delicious and I wold order them again in a group setting. They have TVs in different angles so you can watch your favorite game. Good spot and will definitely be back here for dates and group outings. read more

Who knew! I just checked out the "best rooftops in Chicago" on Google, and turns out this is right down the street! Walked over and had great views of the city plus tons of space up there. Can't beat it! Good cocktails and service too. Had a Whiskey sour and tried the Mezcal margarita. Both were great! I'm sure they make nice espresso martinis as well. One would assume as people kept ordering them! Definitely going back when the weather gets nice! You can't beat the views and easy accessibility. It's heated up there too and partially enclosed. Who knows, might be back sooner! Great addition to the Robey for Wicker Park/Bucktown... or some might call this at Ashland/North, West Town! Cheers and thank you. read more

Kennedy rooftop offered fantastic skyline views. The major downside for me was the location in a hotel. The drinks were reasonably priced for the city. Sam and I met some friends here for a quick drink and apps. We waited forever for an order of empanadas which ended up being surprisingly tasty. The waiter was kind enough to comp the dish due to the wait. read more

The Kennedy Rooftop has one of the best, if not the best, view in Chicago! I was so excited to hear they started serving a weekend brunch menu! Everything tasted so good. I recommend the breakfast burrito! The chorizo in the burrito was so so good! I will be back again soon! read more

Kennedy Rooftop is a hidden gem in Wicker Park offering panoramic views of Chicago's skyline, chef-crafted cocktails, & a craveworthy food menu. This seriously is one of the best views we've seen in Chicago, definitely worth the trip out itself! There are plenty of heaters around the rooftop & even a fire pit so you can continue to enjoy dining outside even in these cold temps. For the winter, they also have heated igloos that you can reserve with dining/drink packages! But don't worry, there are also a few tables inside if you get too cold. Their menu includes shareable options like Mediterranean hummus, Sweet Chili Wings, & more! We really enjoyed the variety that the charcuterie board offered, & it was the perfect compliment to our cocktails. The pork sliders were also delicious; we really liked the additions of the grilled pineapple & tangy bbq sauce. For entrees, we'd highly recommend both the chicken & salmon, but every other option seemed like a great choice too. The chicken was very unique in that it was stuffed w prosciutto, mozzarella, & arugula, & had an amazing fennel cream sauce on top. Everything in the salmon dish was packed w flavor as well, right down to each couscous! 4.0 stars ambience only I definitely recommend getting here early when they first open up so you can have the rooftop to yourself. A nice photoshoot and to stretch out to to enjoy the view without having too many people in your space, but it's pretty spacious. I I think that if everyone is respectful, everyone should be observing the 6 ft rule anyway, but this is Chicago and it's kind of hard to get that message across Love the rooftop space so many picturesque spots to choose from What I did not like was the food. It just was not up to par for the prices that they wanted to charge. My beyond burger was tasteless I believe I had a margarita that was during happy hour. That was okay. The sangria could have been a little bit better and have some more fruit in it The happy hour menu does not have any food, only drink specials. That was the kind of disappointing But I would take some friends or family who were visiting Chicago for the first time cuz it was an amazing way to view the city read more

Has the potential to be nice, but the menu is very limited. I love the view and it does get hot, maybe invest in more umbrellas or keep sunscreen near by. The ambiance in this Hyatt is so cute, maybe even sexy, but you can't be seated until your entire party arrives, that's because the 2 hour window starts from when you're seated. Service was okay, our server seemed a little tight though I think he really tried to come out of his shell. Overall nice experience, but again the menu. Everything is al a carte...myself and everyone else had "french toast" with bananas and overly sauced jerk wings, interesting combo...right, with bottomless mimosas. Then you have eggs and avocado toast, end of menu, yikes! read more

Here for the view, a good time with friends. Food was ok, nothing special. The location is accessible to both commute people, walking people in the neighborhood. And it's part of Hyatt Hotel, so expect a variety of people. Also, we picked this due to the fact it allowed minors/children. Service was fine too. Again, depending on your goals whether it be food or drinks--I recommend it for the view. read more

The menu is very limited. That wouldn't be a problem if the quality was high. But, the food was very bland, cool, and overcooked. We had the salmon pasta and chimichurri kabobs. There was almost no seasoning, even on the "TexMex Esquite" that came with the kabobs. It pretty much tasted like luke warm canned corn. The pasta with the salmon had no sauce and the salmon was overcooked, cool, and lightly salted with no other discernable seasoning. The view was good, but much better from the lounge area. Skip the restaurant and have a cocktail in the lounge. read more

Rooftops have been popping up more in Chicago, and Kennedy rooftop is definitely one to add to your rooftop bucket list. It's located in the Hyatt Place hotel walkable from the heart of Wicker Park if you're already in the area checking out Wicker Park's restaurants/shops. Seems like Kennedy rooftop is better known for its outdoor seating, but I love that they also have indoor seating with open city views so you can still enjoy your time here during cold or rainy weather! Cocktails range ~$13-16 which is pretty standard for Chicago. Keep in mind they don't take reservations, first come first serve! read more

Service: Came here with my fiancé in hopes of quick drinks and food. Firstly, it took foreverrr to have a waiter to even bring water or ask us if we wanted anything. I had to go to the bar and ask if a waiter was ever going to come. And it didn't really seem that packed inside. So that was kinda annoying because we were pretty hungry. After we ordered food it took a long time for the food to come too! It was a lottt of sitting and waiting. Ambiance: the views were so cute! A great place to enjoy a skyline view and sit outside. There's also a cute neon sign you can take pics in front of, super insta worthy. The large couches around the rooftop make it perfect for hanging with friends. Food: the food was also okay, my fiancé ordered the empanadas and they were good but not the best. I ordered the rooftop burger which was also average. We ordered some drinks too and they were meh as well. Overall, I'd you're looking for a place with cute views to chill and hang with friends then this is the place for you! If you're hungry and looking to eat a good meal as well, then maybe stop somewhere else for food before heading here. read more

I'd give no stars if I could Food was bad and cold and took over 1.5 hrs Got moved to a table made for 4 people max with a large party while there were larger tables clearly available The staff was rude Our server was just..no words For how much they charge and the fact that you reserve for a times slot and still have to wait 30+ min is crazy Truly don't understand why they have good reviews I work in food service for years and this has been one of my worst experiences... Experience: With no option of reservations, my girlfriend and I visited this rooftop on a Saturday during lunch hours. At the end, we were seated fairly quickly. Parking: Depending when you go, you could definitely get free parking by the school on Ashland. Just be aware of the signs. If not, there is valet parking associated with the hotel and I believe paid street parking is also available. Again, I would park by the school during no school hours. It was a short walk and very convenient. Worth: 100% worth the visit! I believe this place is such a hidden gym. The rooftop has a great view of the skyline. The staff was very friendly. The food was amazing! I had the empanadas and pulled pork sliders (as pictured below), and no complaints whatsoever. In addition, we had drinks during their happy hour! The rooftop has an amazing view, delicious drinks and great happy hour!! We stayed at the Hyatt so we came up for drinks during happy hour while it was still light out. It was still a little chilly but they had all the heaters on so we were comfortable. Nicole was our bartender and she was great, super helpful and accommodating! We came back for dinner later that evening and just split a burger which was pretty good! We obviously didn't try some of the other food items which I'm sure were delicious as well but we did get to try a variety of drinks and they were all really refreshing and the perfect ratios. We came to the hotel for a staycation but Id come back just for the rooftop! read more

If you want to get a great Chicago skyline view then this is the place. On top of the Hyatt on Ashland this rooftop superceded my expectations. It was spacious and beautifully put together. I came with some of my friends and we all had a great time. I kept it light and got a couple of glasses of pinot griggio and my friends got some cocktails which they loved and felt it was worth the price. We split a small plate of Hummus which was pretty good. Ultimately I give this place 5 stars for a nice experience and the view and as a place that's great to come w friends. The service was good but not the best but our waitress was friendly. Even though it's in West Loop area which looks casual this for me was an nice fairly upscale experience. I would come back here when I visit Chicago. read more

The best views in wicker park! I've been here a few times now because I really love the vibes and views. The cocktails and food is lovely too. I recently went for their brunch and I really enjoyed the banana foster French toast and breakfast skillet. I'll definitely keep coming back especially to bring my out of town guests! Went to The Kennedy for brunch, the layout of the rooftop was nice. The view was facing south with the skyline to the southeast which was a delight. I got the breakfast skillet and got a few drinks. The skillet was pretty filling and a nice combo of beef, eggs, a variety of potatoes, peppers and cheese. The service was pretty decent, but I did get there when it wasn't so busy. read more

Hello, Do your igloos have heaters? Is there a temperature at which they will be closed? What's the cancellation policy?

We did close this weekend because our heaters couldn’t handle it this cold but we are getting new heaters that will be able to handle this cold and should have them next week.

Are reservations allowed? If so, what's the max number for Covid?

It’s a first come first serve so all you have to do is show up. We look forward to seeing you in the near future.

Is it all ages?

It is all ages until after 9 than it is 21 and older on the rooftop. We do have a inside area that we allow younger ages in accompanied by a family member 21 and older.

We chose the option for all selections of meat and seafood. After trying all the meats, I would opt for the lobster and shrimp. You can also substitute the oil for a broth. I would like to try the broth for next time. In one of the shakers, Gejas makes their own meat spice mix. It's recommended to put on the meats and even the desserts. It's a mix of tangy and savory and was a great compliment to the meal. We then chose the seasonal dessert, a white chocolate with vanilla cookies. Fruit, marshmallows, and churros to dip. We were so full by the time dessert came, but we enjoyed a few bites and took it home. The three-course meal, with five types of meat, came with about 10 pieces of meat. They also start the entire course with a mixed salad (so technically it's a four-course meal). It was very fairly priced, as well. Not many Michelin starred restaurants can pull that off on a Monday, but Esmé always seems to have energy. This place has become one of our most reliable favorites. They change the menu a few times a year in conjunction with rotating local artists, and the restaurant itself feels more like a refined art gallery than a traditional dining room with white walls, clean lines, simple and elegant. Last night was no exception to their usual excellence. The experience is really anchored by Chris Gerber, a longtime Chicago hospitality pro, and his team. They are flawless. This is true hospitality in every sense of the word. They usually keep two signature dishes, and for good reason. The caviar supplement sounds odd on paper, but in your mouth it is absolute perfection. The cod sounds simple, but it is anything but, rich, decadent, and always one of the highlights. Everything new on this menu was also outstanding. Every course had beautifully balanced sauces that made sense with the dish, and the presentations were creative without being gimmicky or over the top. The plating always ties in with the featured artist in a way that feels thoughtful, not forced. One tip. Be careful when choosing your beverage pairing. We did not read closely enough and ended up with the more inventive pairing that included cocktails and a beer. It was fun, but afterward we wished we had gone with the higher end wine pairing instead. Bottom line. Esmé remains one of the most consistent Michelin starred experiences in Chicago. It is not just very good. It is reliably excellent every single time.

The beef was the most disappointing part, I couldn't even chew through all of it. The add-ons were the best part - pasta was great and our dessert was delicious. But the rest of the meal was unfortunately mediocre. Hoping that others have a different experience with the regular menu!

PARKING Parking on Halsted on a Saturday night can be a nightmare, and it did take a minute to find street parking. North of the 1800 block is busier because there are several restaurants within a two block radius. Side streets are permit parking after 6pm. Meters on Halsted are $2.50/hr. ATMOSPHERE Willow Room was pretty packed. We had a reservation for 8:15pm and my party of two was seated right away. The restaurant features a full bar, dim lighting and is nice and roomy. They have banquette seating around the perimeter, in addition to tables in the middle. SERVICE Our server, who was very nice and accommodating during our dining experience, came by and gave us our menu's. I had already decided on the RW menu and after review, my friend was interested in the Beef Wellington (not on RW menu). Our server informed us that normally the whole table had to order off of the RW menu if one person does, but said she would check with the kitchen since this was the last day of RW. Luckily, we were able to proceed with ordering from different menu's. FOOD I ordered a raspberry Cosmopolitan. I'm a Riesling/Moscato girlie, but I tasted the Riesling and didn't like it. RW dinner was priced at $60. I ordered: First Course: Caesar Salad (Typical salad, was good) Second Course: Mussels (Tasted fine, came with a baguette) Third Course: Short Rib (Could've been slightly more tender and better seasoned. I've definitely had better. Wouldn't order again.) Fourth Course: Orange Ricotta Donuts (Donuts were very good. Three were served, a few more would have been more filling.) My friend ordered a glass of Pinot Noir and: Truffle Fries (Fries were very tasty. I would order again if I went back.) Beef Wellington (The breading was buttery and very good. The beef could've been more seasoned. I wouldn't order.) Key Lime Pie (Was not sweet and had no taste. When our server came back and saw it was uneaten, she offered to take it off the bill. It should be removed from the menu altogether.) The busboys and server were very attentive. Our water glasses were always filled. OVERALL The atmosphere was nice, our server was great. Of all the food we ordered, I would order the truffle fries and Cosmopolitan again. I did leave full and did take my leftover Short Rib to go. Main dishes needed more seasoning. I would dine here again and try a different menu (brunch/lunch), or Happy Hour if they offer it.
