Russell was very helpful. I was looking at gardening boots, but they didn't have my size. Russell called their other store and was able to offer some options. He was engaging and friendly. The store offers an array of grills, power tools, paints and general hardware supplies. The shelves are remarkably well organized and neat. Many shelves were empty as I assume they are preparing for spring inventory. Many items were on clearance including Yetis so there are some great deals. In the entry alcove is a fascinating history of the hardware store's evolution. The history dates back to at least 1889 when the store was located at 110 West Main Street in Carmel. The store has been owned by four families start with O. W. Nutt prior to 1889. Steve White bought the store in 1984 and built the current location on Rangeline Road in 1989. I love that someone took the time to capture the history. There's plenty of parking in their private lot. You can only enter or exit going north in Rangeline, but the roundabouts make going in the right direction easy.

Because of this massive network of over 4,100 individual stores, they can use this network to provide lower prices to compete with the big box stores. They have everything for every season whether it's flowers, plants, trees & shrubs to outdoor furniture, Christmas trees during the season accessories and a huge array of grills for those grill master enthusiasts. Oh and of course typical hardware stuff like paint, tools etc. Don't miss going into the yellow house and they even have a restaurant, yes in a hardware store, called Sully's that you can eat and also take cooking classes there. You can also walk around with an adult beverage while you browse! They have the OG at 71st and Keystone, they acquired Allisonville home and garden by Sullivan, 49th and Pennsylvania and in Cicero. We purchased several vegetables, like kale, cabbage, Brussel, sprouts, and more. We also purchased some soil and a few other household items we were running low on. Our experience was great from start to finish, and I was very impressed with their selection of gardening vegetables. There were multiple varieties of greens, a dozen plus a Herbs, and pretty much everything you could need to start an expansive vegetable garden. Looking forward to future visits at this neighborhood, hardware store.

He told me he had never seen or heard of anything being online as I was offering to show him the info on my phone. I was confused about this reaction because it was this store that prompted me to sign up for the awards program online in the first place. He seemed agitated and cut me off mid-sentence and walked away from the register. He also said he would 'check with someone.' The cashier and I were both confused by this. She asked him to confirm whether or not he was talking to someone else about it while he was standing 10 feet away noticeably not busy. He scoffed and replied 'I'm not doing that today' while rolling his eyes. The cashier looked uncomfortable and apologized to me. The manager didn't care if I made a purchase or not. I'm not sure if he was in a bad mood before I came in, but he was unnecessarily rude and unprofessional in a situation that could have easily been treated with more grace. The other Sullivan locations nearby have been amazing with their customer service. I recommend shopping with any one of them instead.
