Navigating a parent's estate is never easy or fun. When my dad (a professional artist) passed away…read moreand our attorney suggested an appraisal (of hundreds of pieces), we had a million questions. Brady was amazing and helped tremendously, even suggesting that perhaps we didn't actually need the appraisals. In the end, we didn't, but even so, he was more than willing to talk through it, take a look, share his expertise, and help me figure out the best approach. His willingness to help even though we ultimately didn't need his services showed he's not just in this to make money. He had our best interests in mind, and we're grateful. When we DO need anything like this in the future, we will be more than confident going to him for help.

We made a family decision to call some appraisers to provide clarity on the property. Mr. Dreasher was the only appraiser who answered the phone and was ready to talk about our situation. Upon arrival he greeted and introduced himself with business cards and addressed how we should go about making the process fast and efficient for everyone, knowing that we were still in grieving mode. He identified items we had questions about and then more noteworthy artworks and antiques for which he was able to provide restoration concerns and an estimates of value. In the end we only needed a few items formally appraised with a report, but having a knowledgeable person who gave us confidence in the appraisal process was just what our family needed at the time. Big Thanks!

I came to Indianapolis to take a class through the Hoosier State Chapter of the Appraisal…read moreInstitute. This review is strictly a review of the Chapter in relation to how well they hosted this course. I was impressed with the level of communication received from the Chapter prior to the course. I received a confirmation order after I purchased my course. I received my course materials several weeks before the course began. I also received a final reminder email in the week leading up to the course. Since the weather was MISERABLE, the only improvement in communication would have been if they would have called us the morning of to confirm that the course was not going to be delayed. There was a major snow storm, the first day of class. The Chapter made sure there was tea and coffee available during the course (thank you!). The facility was clean and the chairs were comfortable. I appreciated that there were an appropriate number of plug-ins available for everyone to use. The only had two small environment concerns: the temperature was quite cold throughout the course. Granted, it was 5 degrees outside... but I wore my vest and jacket during most of the class. Second, we used a projector in the course, and it was a bit frustrating that you could not turn the lights down in the front of the room. That would have made the projector much easier to see. Instead, we fought quite a bit of glare. All in all, thank you for hosting a well organized course!

Well, it may take a few weeks for all kinds of reasons like ordering materials, the artist has a backlog... etc? If you want 'quick' you should go to a commercial, boring, big box jeweler. Ok, mini rant over. Let's talk about Mark and the work he has done for me and my husband. My husband wanted to have a custom engagement ring made for me. He had a design in mind and a recommendation from a family member to see Mark. Mark gave great advice on sizing, diamond quality and integrity of the band design. He even showed my husband the difference between Russian and Israeli cut diamonds (um, huge difference). Without Mark's advice I would have gotten a ring from somewhere else that needs adjusting all the time (I had a lot of single prong stuff in mind for the band, bad idea) . Mark can also order directly from a manufacturer, which is what we did for our wedding bands. It's cheaper than custom and, like another reviewer said, the prices are clearly stated in the manufacturer's ordering book at market prices. In the end the design I wanted had already been made - so why have it done at a custom price? I appreciated Mark's honesty and transparency on that decision. Lastly, Mark and his wife are kind and fair people. No pressuring you into something you don't want or can't afford. We had a great buying experience for all three purchases so far.

Didn't feel pressured or any unpleasant sales-y atmosphere, and Paula was great too. Fiancée is also very pleased with the outcome! As mentioned in some of the other reviews, allow some extra time for variability in ordering things and other suppliers.

Reashea was able to work within my small budget and was diligent in researching prices and materials. She was so helpful in telling me everything I needed to know about materials, stones, cuts, and settings. She was so personal and involved in the process. She helped me pick out the ring and kept my updated throughout the entire process. She is very trust worthy and when she gives her word she means it! There was an accident with the ring where the people she was working with cracked the ring. She told them that she gave her word to me that I would pay what she said I would for the ring and I would get it on time. She called multiple people and fought to keep her word to me. I ended up with a better ring for the same price and it came just in time! She helped make my engagement perfect! I would HIGHLY recommend Shea's Diamonds to ANYONE!

And basically a receipt on letterhead. Her website... sheasdiamonds.com says gia certified appraiser, SHE IS NOT...I text her and the response I got was she wasnt claiming to be an appraiser...but she had been in the business for 30 years.. And she knew what she needed to do. You dont write an appraisal for insurance and act like you can and have it posted on your website if you cant. Washed up Ashcraft employee riding that name trying to sell jewelry part time and talking about her customers. It will all catch up to her. I will not support her business as she also has taken advantage of another business owner in Muncie.. Mason's Repair and Restore..its a repair shop for jewelry on wheeling. Because of him she was able to start her business and she left him high and dry..she set her "store" up in his shop each friday except in December and she was there all Month so she did pay him that month. The rest of the Fridays for a year and in exchange...she gave him knowledge and traded some stuff.(hum...)..I guess not paying him allowed for her to open up her own place. Good for her... when I confronted her about the appraisal...she text me and called me...she wanted me to know she was friends with Jami Brown...like I care. And she wanted to discuss that she traded stuff to Mason's...her entire phone call and text to me was her defending herself and sad. I guess if she didnt talk about me she wouldnt have to defend herself. I grew up in a small town. She wants to think shes from a big town. Its not personal. Get your appraisal from a professional. And shop local. From people who stand with you. Not who use you to stand on top of you.
