Once you get in, it's a disaster. The "merchandise" is laying all over the place. Tons of old medicine bottles and boxes. If it falls off of the shelf, it remains on the floor. The building is unsafe. Should be condemned! The structure is unsafe and walls are crumbling. Weeds are growing through the wall where the plaster is falling. The town Post Office is connected to the building next door, probably the only reason why it hasn't been torn down. Upstairs, the ceiling is falling through.... There is a sign saying it's ok to dig through the boxes!! I was scared that a rat would surprise me! Dirty, stinky, trashy.... don't waist your time or your safety!

Their specialty is items that you would find in a drug store like over the counter beauty and medical treatments, and other pharmaceutical and personal care items. The proprietor said that the shop provides props for movie and television productions, and honestly, the shop itself looks like a movie set. So many items there that you never see anywhere, and they've got tons of each item stacked floor to ceiling in room after room. My daughter and I both made purchases: she got a box full of old makeup items (e.g. Don Juan lipsticks & some very early rare Max Factor items, etc.), one of the things she collects, and I found some vintage IHOP restaurantware in great condition. The prices were very fair. The shop itself is a bit cluttered but worth navigating. After sort of having my mind blown after seeing all the stuff they had (I don't know how else to describe it lol--it's an experience) I did some googling and learned that the proprietor wrote a book on drug store collectibles that I found on ebay. If this is the sort of collecting genre that interests you, or if you just want to go someplace different than you've ever been before, you should check them out.

I've been to this antique mall in Camel a couple times now. The store is hidden in the back of an…read moreolder industrial complex, so you have to know it's there. It's the perfect size mall, not to big that I lose interest and not to small. The shop is tidy and the staff friendly, even funny and always welcoming. They were adding Christmas decor during my visit. The selection is mostly vintage glass and smaller items. There is a little vintage and antique furniture. Prices range from reasonable to absurd. I didn't buy anything yesterday, but enjoyed browsing. I check in regularly as the merchandise changes.

Then today at checkout the lady at the register refused to look at me or talk to me except to give me my total. Made a point of continuing to chat with her coworkers and wouldn't even glance at me. I couldn't figure it out then I remembered - I'm a woman with short hair wearing a baseball cap. The horror! What if I was a Trans?!?! I'm sure she could never live with herself at the thought of having been polite to someone who might have been different from her. Big pass. I'll be heading back to Thrifty Threads in Indy.

They had so many wonderful books and they were very well organized. The manager saw how many books I was buying (ended up being 68) and gave me a price break. Instead of $1.50 per hardback book he only charged me $1.25. It was greatly appreciated. I also bought a big picture that was on display at the front of the store. The store seemed to be well organized. I didn't really look at the clothes since I was looking for books. But I will be back. The employees were super friendly. I was greeted by several different employees. Great experience. And I love that the money they take in supports the Muncie Mission.

Background is my wife and I have been wanting to start collecting pottery for some time (serving bowls and other dinnerware mostly). Long story short was I found them thru a display at Logan Mall in Noblesville and they suggested I come by for a visit after calling them. The store looks like an extension of the house they reside in...when you walk in it's mainly the antique area. I'm not an antiques guy so I can't speak to what they have on that. My daughter and I wandered around a bit looking for pottery in this area and we found a surface finish that we both liked for a serving bowl. Eventually I struck up a conversation with Diane (one of the owners) asking how she could help, etc. We told her what we were looking for and she very graciously showed us their pottery shop. I met her husband Matt (the other owner) and he took about 20 minutes of his time to explain how they make the pottery (everything by hand...no molds), how they got started, family, etc. They were such nice people and gracious with their time to put up with my rookie inquiries. My daughter found a few old 45s she wanted as well. Diane said it would be a couple of weeks for the bowl. Fast forward a couple of weeks and I went to pick it up. It was exactly how we wanted. They informed me the finish/glaze was difficult and took a couple of tries but they got it. It is absolutely perfect and will hopefully be in our family for a very long time. The location is right at the corner of IN37 and Strawtown Avenue. If you are looking for handmade pottery with two business owners that have a passion for what they do then swing by and tell them Chris sent you :-). Each piece was amazing and the owners knew the background and stories of every item I inquired about. A very helpful sales woman named Christine was very patient and helpful, despite the fact that she knew I was not going to make any sizable purchases. The shop, which is open on Saturdays (which is convenient) specializes in f 18th-20th Century European antique furniture, accessories, and outdoor garden items. They always have new inventory and constantly acquiring new pieces. This was one of the best shopping experiences of my life. I cannot wait to return!

You can tell from the windows that they have a lot of stuff in there but imagine my surprise to discover the depth and the breadth of the store itself. They literally have some of everything. I took tons of pictures, so don't worry! The staff is very welcoming and helpful. Everything is well organized and beautifully displayed. We purchased some books, a couple of DVD's, a purse, and a pin (I have a collection). We made some great finds and the prices, for what we brought, were very reasonable. If you're a big spender though, they do have a pair of statues in a back room going for $4,900 and I'm pretty sure that isn't the most expensive item that they have available.
