Once you enter you are hit by a wave of chocolate goodness that honestly made my mouth salivate! They had a ton of options from chocolate covered marshmallows, pretzels, Oreos and various candies all dipped or coated in chocolate. We browsed a bit and then the very friendly staff helped us with options. We bought a pound of the covered ones and got a huge assortment which come in both dark and milk chocolate. The amazing thing too is that they hand dip everything! It is a family owned spot that has been around forever, so they know their chocolate! Biting into the cream filled center my first thought was that this chocolate was amazing, and super thick. They did not skimp on the coating which I so appreciate. The filling was plenty and you almost didn't have to eat more than one to feel full, they were that full of taste. Delicious! If you are out this way check them out as you won't find this kind of chocolate store anywhere else close by for sure!

I love puns, especially sophomoric jokes, and this is the place for it. The fun begins in the parking lot for being greeted warmly inside by a "Welcome to Uranus." There is hilarious merchandise everywhere. Don't forget about the fudge, which is fantastic. There is a separate building for the ice cream parlor (be sure check out the Egyptian themed bathroom). They also have a mini golf course, playground, and multiple photo opportunities. My husband and I had intended to go for half an hour and ended up staying two hours. Uranus Fudge is super fun and comes highly recommended!

We've driven by the signs for this idiot place on I-69 probably 100+ times and have always said "We need to stop one of these days." Well, we finally did... It's in the middle of damn nowhere and cheesier than Chick-Fila macaroni and cheese, but kitschy and as much as I hate to admit, it was kind of cool. They got us for $60 on over-priced and overrated fudge and other BS products that the "self-titled" house boss wanted, but it was an entertaining lil place right off of I-69. Would we go again? Probably not, but our stop was alright... If you need to take a leek during a road trip and want a little entertainment on the side, check out Uranus Fudge (because according to them, "The best fudge comes from Uranus").

All the cupcakes were moist, and a great flavor; too often when you visit bakeries they have frozen the cupcakes and I can always taste that. These were fresh! I love that they chose a downtown location in a historic building and left the safe in the wall. They store the cake boxes in the old safe and it is visible behind the counter which lends character to the atmosphere. This is a candy lovers dream store. Lots of candy gifts ideas.

We got a German chocolate cupcake, which is chocolate cupcake with caramel and coconut-pecan frosting. It was big enough for two people, for sure. The Cookie Monster cupcakes were cute, and there were also cupcakes that looked like sundaes, plus a lot of other flavors, like strawberry cream, pina colada, cherry, M&M and others. Along with cupcakes, you'll also find ice cream, pie and cake slices, cookies, bulk candy, and a whole two walls full of packaged candy, including old fashioned candy like Pez, Chuckles, wax lips and other novelty sweets. This is a sweet and charming little store for all things sweet, located in a vintage-looking building. Parking is on the street or in the small free parking lot a short ways away.

It's a candy and snack joint! You will definitely find something for everyone here. Hoosier Cupboard is located in downtown Franklin, in a cute little house that also looks like a train depot. Across the way is some sort of train thing, so I'm sensing a theme. My children got an ice cream cone (Blue Moon) and a scoop of chocolate ice cream in a cup. They have kids' sizes, which is appreciated. I am not an ice cream person, so I got two hand-dipped peanut butter cups, one for each hand: one milk chocolate, and the other dark chocolate. Both were delicious! We ate our treats at a table on the outdoor patio. There is lots of outdoor seating, and zero indoor seating. So, your options are to sit outside or get your goodies to go. The people who work here are polite and patient, which is also appreciated. You know how it goes when you visit a sweets shop with kids -- they can't make up their mind about what they want. But the people behind the counter were very kind and waited with the utmost patience while my children made their decision about which ice cream flavor to choose.

Rocket fizz has 2 locations that I am familiar with. One in Plainfiekd and one in Downtown Indy. I love both locations but downtown on the circle was our choice. When the monument isn't under construction I love walking the steps. We parked a block away and walked back. And once inside we were in candy heaven. We spent alot of time perusing. Because their were so many choices it was hard for my grandson to decide until the store clerk mentioned she just made some grab bags. Excited he was. They were pricey but it was for the fun of it all for him. It has been a while since we've gone but he still talks about our visit. And for me, the memories are worth every dollar spent.
