Terrible customer service. Too many staff hanging out talking and not helping customers

The rudest, older person who works in the paint department and I believe he is the owner. initially I gave him the benefit that he was having a bad day and went back a week later to the same attitude he displayed upon my first visit. Well, it's getting worse. I really didn't think it was possible own a small business and be so poor at serving those that provide your income, but apparently it is. The missus only wants to play with her phone. The owner is too "busy" to ask if you need help. Went to Port Hardware after leaving Ace in disgust. Owner at Port greeted me as I walked in and immediately went and found what I wanted. That's my hardware store now!! read more

Unlike other tourist quarantined for 14 days outside of the state i never left since before the epidemic. As a native of California I see things as an outside observer differently, and perhaps more objective in that way. In my opinion I love the folks in this store and I'm glad that they are there to help us even when everyone else had to close. Ironically my only complaint is how they moved everything around so that it's more difficult to find anything. And that forces me to have even more interaction with the staff just to navigate the place. Also they use to have a nice marine fittings and hardware section with cleats and such, but that now appears to be gone. Kennebunk really needs a marine supply store and I hope one day this store could consider such dual purpose. read more

i am setting up my r.v. because i will be staying in wells maine for the summer. one of the things i wanted to add was a bidet. the plumbing connections are different for a r.v. from home plumbing. i saw on youtube that the adapter can be bought at ace hardware. so here's the warning if you go there stay away from the old man with white hair and glasses. i had the adapter that came with the bidet which i handed to the old man and said i need one that would fit r.v. plumbing connections, he asked me what i was trying to install and when i told him it was for a bidet he gave me a nasty look and told me we don't deal in that sort of stuff. i should not have said it but i did, i said you should try hitching one up in your outhouse you may like it. read more

I've always had a great experience at Ace in K'bunk. Staff is knowledgeable and attentive. Two of the men who work there aren't the most warm and fuzzy people I've ever met, but they're never rude and always seem to know their product. I'm not going to a hardware store looking for a new best friend! I'm looking for salespeople with skills and experience who are invested in being helpful, and that's what I've found here. The range of product is extensive too/the store is huge, and yet not as huge as the 'big boxes', which I prefer not to frequent. read more

Terrible! ACE hardware in Kennebunk is TERRIBLE. Previous reviewer is correct. The worst customer experience you'll ever have. And I've heard this from multiple people. If they were 50% cheaper in prices, I still won't ever go to this place again. They treat you like you're a nuisance. read more

Being a small business owner in Kennebunk I make a big effort to use local businesses. This business consistently provides poor customer service so I am finally "done with them". Today was the tipping point. A month ago I had them make six keys for my business. I tested them all and none of them worked. The owner of the building later told me a locksmith is the only one who can make duplicates. I let the six keys sit on my desk for a month with the receipt. Today my 30 year old son asked me if I needed anything at the hardware store. I said yeah you can take back these keys. I gave him the receipt too. He came back with the $12 and said he'll never go back there. All the older woman at the register said to him was "Next time don't wait a month to bring something back." Not nice. I had to wait while they made six keys only to find out none of them work then return them. I'll be taking my business elsewhere and so will my son. Bye Felicia! read more
