It's huge, well laid out and organized, brightly lit and very well stocked with an amazing selection of crafting supplies and home decor. Price are good and sales prices are outstanding. I can almost always find what I'm looking for at Hobby Lobby. I come to the Rochester store often and I've never had a bad experience with staff or anything else. Someone said the store is filthy? I'm a crafter and have spent quite a bit of money at Hobby Lobby, beautiful inventory, clean store; however, customer service, especially by the manager and assistant manager, leave a lot to be desired. Rude and even confrontational! what happened to the customer is always right? First incident was last year when purchasing 4 very expensive picture frames. couldn't get ANYONE to help me get them down from top shelf. Made of resin to assimilate stone, they were very heavy, so when I overreached for one, down I went landing on my back. Not one person moved to help this 68 year old on the floor unable to get up. I was able to get a witness statement from another customer who saw every thing and even helped me up. Staff shrugged their shoulders, got manager, rude. I very quickly was sent a letter with a release of all claims with a pittance offer, that I did not take. Today? I returned an item from their floral department which upon examination at home had a piece missing. I was told I didn't buy it there. ‍. From what I understand, HL is a Christian business and closes on Sundays, apparently to let their employees attend church services. That's very commendable. THE TREATMENT DISPLAYED TO PAYING CUSTOMERS IS NOT "CHRISTIAN-LIKE". In fact, it's disgusting. That's the end of my hard-earned dollar being spent their. Needed to reframe a picture and Jamie could not have been any more helpful, professional and friendly. She treated my property like it was her own. I've wanted to go here for years! So many people have raved over Hobby Lobby, and being that I shop at Michaels and AC Moore on a weekly basis, I thought I would love it. And I do like it.... but like Michaels and AC Moore just the same. It has a larger variety in general, that being said, the deals didn't seem to be as great, and I have yet to discover if they accept Michaels / Jo-Ann / AC Moore coupons (I would assume they do). I didn't get too great of a look around, since I showed up at 7:45 and they close at 8 (who closes at 8?). The Rochester store seems brand new and extremely organized and clean. In addition, the store is gigantic and seemed to be more than fully stocked. They seemed to have an extended selection of frames, jewelry, and a normal variety of all the other art departments. Halloween section (August is really too early... thank you very much) was full as well. The employees all seemed professional and friendly, and seem to be working diligently to keep the store at the high standard of being spotless and clean... I literally saw at least four different employees stocking, while the store is already fully stocked! Located in the Ridge Shopping Center on Route 11 in Rochester, next to Market Basket. Open Monday-Saturday 9am-8pm, Closed Sundays. Hopefully, Hobby Lobby comes to Massachusetts so I can stop in for a good search of Hobby Lobby. 4 stars for the Rochester store. read more
