A member was requested to come help and answer a few questions. He came back to help, and my husband was asking him some questions about the correct tire that we were looking for. The staff member became very rude and had a two year-old temper tantrum. He started throwing trailer tires on the floor almost hit my husband in the leg. I walked over to see what the problem was, and the staff member looked at me and made an inappropriate hand gesture of a "crazy" sign to me insulting my husband. Then he proceeded to touch my shoulder. I don't appreciate anybody insulting my husband or touching me. I let the manager know. The only one that was acting "crazy" was the staff member. I will try never to have to shop in that store again. I will never let that staff person ever assist me with anything. That's not the way to treat customers!

We remodeled our kitchen a few years ago. When I designed our new kitchen one of the items I wanted…read morewas under cabinet lighting. I went to every big box and light store in the metro area. I just could not find what I was looking for. (Said Bono). Either the lights were too bulky or didn't fit my measurements. I could have strung a couple of sets together to run the length of my cabinets but then that would not have looked clean. That is when I found Southern Lights. They say the sun rises in the east and sets in the west. Well have you driven south in the evening and see Southern Lights? We worked with Megan who was FANTASTIC! She educated us about the exact set up lights I was looking for. They have LED tape lights that you can actually cut to a custom length. Perfect! Those lights are bright enough to light up my kitchen yet are dimmable too. Megan also showed us some new electrical covers that are not your standard switches. We absolutely love these lights! We've been down to visit Southern Lights a few times over the years and most recently to check out their big tent sale. They have a huge tent sale in the Spring and in the Fall with lots of great deals. I would say if you can't find a light at Southern Lights, then it is just not available. If you need any lights, be sure to check out Southern Lights and be sure to say hello to Megan.

He started finding the things that belonged with it all over the store. Batteries in a drawer in one spot. Manual was someplace else. I then asked about the return period and was told you can return things once they are used at all. I left and will be picking up the same blower from HomeDepot today. In a box, new, with all of its accessories. I try to support this more local hardware store, and it is super close to my house. However, I will not be returning to Ace.

Unfortunately, they didn't have any in stock that day, despite my hopeful pun. But what really stood out was the effort the staff put in to help me. They didn't send me on my way; instead, they took the time to check the back room, just in case there was leftover stock that hadn't made it to the floor. When that didn't pan out, they didn't stop there. One of the employees pulled up their online inventory system to see if it was available or if other locations might have them. This kind of proactive service is what makes Ace feel like the helpful neighborhood hardware store it's known to be. Even though I left empty-handed this time, I left with a positive impression. As you can see from my photo of the store interior, their shelves are well-stocked with a wide variety of hardware and tools.
