Although I frequently see these green-painted shuttle buses (which are labeled "The Grid" on the…read moreexterior), it makes no sense for the 128 Business Council to operate any shuttle trips in Waltham given that there's already plenty of public transportation service provided by MBTA Bus Route 70 (final stop: Market Place Drive) and MBTA Bus Route 61 (Waltham Center, which also connects to the 70) - both of which are within easy walking distance from the many office parks in the area. Bus Route 70 also connects with the MBTA Red Line at Central Square, Cambridge (which is much closer to Downtown Boston than the 128 Business Council's connection to the Red Line at Alewife Station). The MBTA is the main source of public transportation service in the Greater Boston area - there's no denying it. Operating shuttle buses in places where there's already existing MBTA subway/bus service is completely unnecessary and just further adds to road congestion. This is very similar to the MASCO bus shuttles that operate in Boston's busy Longwood Medical Area, which is already served by two Green Line branches and seven different MBTA bus routes. I'm giving the 128 Business Council two stars (instead of a lower rating) because of its other two routes serving Lexington and Needham. The Lexington route is helpful for riders as there's low frequency on the nearby duo of MBTA Bus Routes 62 and 76, while the Needham route is beyond a 15-minute walk from MBTA Bus Route 59 service (which is also infrequent). If you're going to operate a shuttle bus service, it's best recommended to go to places where the MBTA doesn't travel to (aside from the obvious subway/Commuter Rail connection that needs to be included on one end of the route).

It is time for a positive review. I am lucky in that I don't have to go into the office very often,…read morebut when I do, it's always a tough situation to get out to Waltham without a car. I'm able to mooch rides now and then, but it gets old. Then I found out about the 128 Business Council and their routes of service that stop at the front doors of my and several other major office buildings in Waltham and Lexington. They pick up on schedule from Alewife Red Line station, and it is ON TIME! They take 128 (duh) so we get to avoid a lot of rush hour crap. And it's cheap!! $2.50 a ride is much better than the $7 Commuter Rail and then the $20 cab from the train station to my office...made that mistake once. The shuttle is clean, quiet, and the driver has always been prompt and friendly. What a great idea for the small (but growing) number of us who want to rely on public trans for as long as is possible. Check them out!!

The drivers at MetroWest are the most reliable, respectful, and trusted in the entire Boston area. We have used some other companies in the area and have come across issues like lateness, and no shows. With MetroWest Livery, drivers arrive early and aid us with our baggage. They also know the roads better than the GPS systems! They are aware of how to avoid heavy traffic, and unexpected delays. Our drivers are some of the nicest gentlemen we have ever met, even at early morning pickups they always greet us with big smiles. The cars are maintained to a very high standard, and their comfort level allows us to have a relaxing ride no matter the distance! From our very first booking, MetroWest Livery has provided us with a service unlike any other. We strongly and highly recommend MetroWest Livery. I have had instances where it has run very late to the 'schedule' on the weekend but for the most part the weekday service is very consistent. My biggest grievance is that they don't always open all the doors so I can run like a manic down to the train and the front door is open but the back is not so I don't make it on in time. I have purchased a monthly pass every month for the past 6 years and even if I didn't they make a point of broadcasting that you need to come up and show your pass when they do open the doors. It would make the train a lot faster if they opened all the doors so people could get off and on faster.

I have seen the wonders of the Paris and NYC metro systems so I know what's up when it comes to riding a good system- you can't fool me. Although, I feel like I do owe you at least a small thank you for commuting my bum all around Boston-Brookline from time to time. Maybe after a kind, but critical review, you will finally tell me why you still remain annoying after all these years together. It's not looking like an equal relationship to me... Since I moved (and still remain) to Brookline Village in 2008, I have seen little to zero improvements on how you operate. This angers me. Sometimes you still take up to 20 minutes during ideal traveling times...this, I just don't understand. Especially on Sunday AM's, during Red Sox games and a little after 9AM weekdays. Sometimes you make me so late it's embarrassing how often I have to use the excuse "Oh, it's the train again." You're so inconsistent, I'm really ashamed of you! What have been the minute improvements? Well, MBTA did update your cars to three-car-trains, but I find little to no difference in this. Some Mondays on my way to work, I would wait for three trains to go by filled to capacity, and then boom a 3-car empty train will finally appear...but now I'm late to work. Thanks. And really, what IS it with all the stopping and starting? Can you give us a smooth ride and not have the poor little Jewish women falling all over the place? But, for the most part, I do like that when you finally decide to arrive, my train ride is only 10 minutes to Copley Square. Compared to the B and C lines...this is you're winning, and outstanding trait. It's a love/hate relationship, but you know...you get me where I need to go.

True rating = 2.5 stars This location has multiple sides for entrance and a heated Charlie Card kiosk. I sometimes get off here if I feel like just enjoying a more scenic walk than from Eliot. In the morning rush 80% all of the seats will already be taken so if you get on here expect to stand. One annoying issue with this stop is how far apart the platforms for crossing are and they are perfectly spaced so when the Train pulls in, it parks right over it! So you have to walk across the uneven tracks and still at that point if you are going Inbound to Boston you will have to wait until the train stops to desperately run to the front entrance. I've had several situations where I see the train is approaching but I can't run to the front of the train fast enough to get on!
