Back then, it used to be a place that we did not go ever, especially after dark. Now? It's patrolled by police, there are plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby. And apartments/condos that are far from cheap. Today, Stony Brook is an island platform though below the surface of the nearby area. At street level, the ticketing concourse has the usual automated ticket kiosks and turnstiles. Full handicapped access with elevators and escalators down to the platform level. It is a reasonably wide platform that is pretty much indoors and out of the elements. There is seating available and announcements of the next trains towards Oak Grove/Forest Hills. Stony Brook is between Green (outbound) and Jackson Square (inbound).

You will need to board the train at the driver's door so that you can swipe your form of payment. Butler is on the M line between Milton (outbound) and Cedar Grove (inbound). It is located underneath Interstate 93 but is still outdoors. You're covered from the rain and snow but not the wind or the cold. It is an island platform station, which means that the doors open on the left. There are audible and visual announcements of the next incoming train in either direction. There is no parking here. The station is completely handicapped accessible. There are turnstiles at street level and the usual automated ticket vending machines. The station is between North Station (inbound toward Forest Hills) and Sullivan Square (outbound towards Oak Grove).

Iconic Boston views! This stop is a drop off for the Esplanade, one of the most picturesque spots in the city, so it makes the area, including this outdoor stop a nice place to get off or wait for your train. Clean, pretty easy to orient yourself and the views! Did I say the views? It might have the best ones in Boston and beyond!

The station is at surface level. It is an A-OK stop. Trains from here run to Ashmont and take about 10 minutes. The next inbound station is Capen Street. There are some small restaurants and shops near the station but nothing terribly fancy. It services a mostly residential area. The fare is the same as it is for the rest of the MBTA. If you're not transferring at Ashmont, you will need to board the train at the driver's door where there is a machine for swiping your Charlie Card or Charlie Ticket.

The station has a minimal amount of cover from rain but it's not much. You're going to be experiencing the weather here for sure. At least there is a decent barrier from the traffic of the very busy Comm Ave. This station does not have an audible or visual announcement of the next train. It has some handicapped access with a portable ramp for wheelchairs to access the higher platforms of the Green Line trains. There are no ticket machines or turnstiles here. If you are disembarking here, you will need to press the "stop request button." If you are boarding, you will need to do so at the front door next to the driver so that you can provide payment. The station does have a good space for disembarking the train and not walking directly into the busy traffic of Comm Ave. Doors at this station will open on the right. You will need to signal the train driver if you intend to disembark here. For boarding, you must do so at the front of the train so that you can swipe your Charlie Card or Charlie Ticket. Washington Street is on the "B" Branch of the Green Line, between Warren Street (inbound) and Sutherland Street (outbound).

Another of the three Boston University stops on the Green Line, West has even less for services…read morethan Central. Less cover, still no kiosks or announcements and not much of a curb to keep the traffic away. It's "I've experienced better." This station is not handicapped accessible. BU Central is obviously between BU Central (inbound) and Saint Paul Street (outbound) on the B branch of the Green Line.
