Newton Centre is located next to some dining and such. No idea about parking. It is on the "D" Branch of the Green Line between Newton Highlands (outbound) and Chestnut Hill (inbound).

Surface level, but the station does have decent cover from the elements. There are audible and visual announcements of the next train in both directions. There is a portable boarding lift for people who need assistance getting onto the higher platform trolley cars. As well, the station features a small building with a few kiosks for purchasing your Charlie Ticket or adding value to your Charlie Card. If you are boarding the train here, you will need to do so at the door closest to the train driver so that you can provide payment. Disembarking will require pressing the "stop request" button but it's a popular station so it likely will stop anyway. Woodland Station is between Riverside (outbound, the terminus for the D branch) and Waban (inbound). This is definitely a nice station and I am a fan.

The bus was already running 15 minutes late because of the lunch hour traffic per my Apple Maps app. The bus was an additional 5 minutes late on top of that. The bus driver of this Wednesday mid-day route was lovely. He had a kind smile and quip for everyone who got on and encouraged passengers to help elderly folks who needed some assistance getting down from the bus. The stops were in great spaces, close to needed amenities. For example, I got on just a short pace away from the T station. That said, the signage needs updating because while they are in clear locations, the writing has become faded on the route signs.

I have had instances where it has run very late to the 'schedule' on the weekend but for the most part the weekday service is very consistent. My biggest grievance is that they don't always open all the doors so I can run like a manic down to the train and the front door is open but the back is not so I don't make it on in time. I have purchased a monthly pass every month for the past 6 years and even if I didn't they make a point of broadcasting that you need to come up and show your pass when they do open the doors. It would make the train a lot faster if they opened all the doors so people could get off and on faster.

Since I moved (and still remain) to Brookline Village in 2008, I have seen little to zero improvements on how you operate. This angers me. Sometimes you still take up to 20 minutes during ideal traveling times...this, I just don't understand. Especially on Sunday AM's, during Red Sox games and a little after 9AM weekdays. Sometimes you make me so late it's embarrassing how often I have to use the excuse "Oh, it's the train again." You're so inconsistent, I'm really ashamed of you! What have been the minute improvements? Well, MBTA did update your cars to three-car-trains, but I find little to no difference in this. Some Mondays on my way to work, I would wait for three trains to go by filled to capacity, and then boom a 3-car empty train will finally appear...but now I'm late to work. Thanks. And really, what IS it with all the stopping and starting? Can you give us a smooth ride and not have the poor little Jewish women falling all over the place? But, for the most part, I do like that when you finally decide to arrive, my train ride is only 10 minutes to Copley Square. Compared to the B and C lines...this is you're winning, and outstanding trait. It's a love/hate relationship, but you know...you get me where I need to go.

I like how there are multiple entrances to this and a path to go over Route 9 by the bridge. The only issues I've had in the past are the inevitable service malfunctions and when they decide to cut the route short they always stop at either Newton Centre or rarely Newton Highlands stop. Also during the winter this place can be very tricky to get to by foot since the City of Newton has a hard time keeping up with the shoveling/plowing and my trek to this station doubles!
