It is located underneath Interstate 93 but is still outdoors. You're covered from the rain and snow but not the wind or the cold. It is an island platform station, which means that the doors open on the left. There are audible and visual announcements of the next incoming train in either direction. There is no parking here. The station is completely handicapped accessible. There are turnstiles at street level and the usual automated ticket vending machines. The station is between North Station (inbound toward Forest Hills) and Sullivan Square (outbound towards Oak Grove).

Also worth mentioning that I'm always a fan of stations where you can access both directions (ND&SB) after passing the fare gates. It's never Finding out you just paid for a train going the wrong direction! Where this station struggles is in the need for a little TLC. The platform was generally clean, but the surrounding walls could surely benefit for a long-overdue cleaning. Another point is the escalator. While I would not call it shaky, it did not offer a very smooth ride. Just in case, hold on to the handrail, it's a long way down otherwise.

Iconic Boston views! This stop is a drop off for the Esplanade, one of the most picturesque spots in the city, so it makes the area, including this outdoor stop a nice place to get off or wait for your train. Clean, pretty easy to orient yourself and the views! Did I say the views? It might have the best ones in Boston and beyond!

Yep that's definitely happened to me. Thankfully this one isn't located in the depths underground like Porter Square requiring multiple long stair cases/escalators to resurface. Aside from that logistical annoyance, I also have a horror story about how I was trapped on the red line trying to get to Seaport for an event for well over 40 minutes. There were issues with our train and if you know the Inbound line between Kendall/MIT to Charles MGH there is a vertical incline to clear the Longfellow bridge between the stations. (We didn't make it far before trouble happened.) Unfortunately the train struggled to climb and remained stuck waiting for assistance and updates. Disturbingly every 5 minutes or so we could feel gravity sliding the car back a few feet as well. I felt bad for the train operators who announced "we apologize for this inconvenience, we will get this train moving momentarily" every few minutes. The apology while appreciated lost the impact after the first few iterations. I was extremely late for my event, which thankfully I was not presenting or speaking. The worst aspect was we were trapped. No additional cars behind us until they decided to hitch our dead train to another to propel us to the next station where of course we all poured out at Charles MGH in the overcrowded station. Ever since that incident I have been wary of any red line delays.

The station has a minimal amount of cover from rain but it's not much. You're going to be experiencing the weather here for sure. At least there is a decent barrier from the traffic of the very busy Comm Ave. This station does not have an audible or visual announcement of the next train. It has some handicapped access with a portable ramp for wheelchairs to access the higher platforms of the Green Line trains. There are no ticket machines or turnstiles here. If you are disembarking here, you will need to press the "stop request button." If you are boarding, you will need to do so at the front door next to the driver so that you can provide payment. There is no MBTA parking here. Central Square (which is not the same as Central Avenue) is a station on the Red Line between Harvard (outbound) and Kendall (inbound). There are a lot of restaurants, shops and coffee shops in the area.

The two side platforms have a single entrance at street level. There is both an escalator and an elevator from the ticketing/street to the platform level. The platform is decently covered from the elements. At ground level, the usual turnstiles and automated ticket vending machines. I really need to get myself a dang CharlieCard already! There is a very big parking lot here for commuters that must help reduce traffic into the city. Beachmont is on the Blue Line between Suffolk Downs and Revere Beach stations.

Great service! Driver texted me to let me know that traffic…read morewas heavy on Tuesday night and that he would be at my home in Brookline 15 minutes earlier than scheduled. He actually arrived 10 minutes before that. I appreciate the early arrival. I was ready and would rather be at my destination than worry that I will be stuck in traffic etc. I was very pleased with the experience and would use this cab again. In fact, I would like to book it for my return to Logan next week.
