I called his field manager Dawne Caruso, who told me that I had no choice. I asked if the employee was bonded, and she refused to answer me. I even told her that I would leave him to do his work if he was at least bonded. No answer, so I assume not bonded. Dawn was as rude as a person can get, and at that point, I refused to allow a company that would employ someone like her to do work in my apartment. The young man Justin was a good kid, and understood my issues. He should actually have Dawn's job, as he deals with customers in a much more professional manner. Stay away from this company!

We hired Lux Construction to remodel two bathrooms in our home. What we were told would take 3-4…read moreweeks dragged on for 9 weeks, and the project was still nowhere near completion when we ultimately fired him. Workdays were inconsistent--many days he would show up for only a few hours and then leave. The quality of the work itself was extremely poor. The tile work was horrible. Tile that was supposed to lay flat to the wall actually looks like a woven picnic basket! Most of the tiles do not lay flat. In one of the showers, he left a 1/4 inch gap between the floor and the shower wall. He said not to worry because there was waterproofing underneath! His drywall was also lacking. The sanding was so poorly done that you can still see the mud behind the paint. In one of the bathrooms, he literally painted over an old heat vent rather than take it down to paint around it. He also installed a new vent fan, then proceeded to paint over that as well. In the other bathroom he installed canned lights, then painted over one of them! After cutting ties, we had to hire another licensed contractor who informed us the only option was to completely tear out all of Lux Construction's work and start over from scratch. This cost us significant time, money, and stress. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend Lux Construction and strongly encourage others to do thorough research before hiring.
