I really like the food here. I was thoroughly impressed with the quality and execution here. We started off the soup dumplings and spicy wontons. The soup dumplings were good, average. It came out piping hot and had plenty of soup inside. Spicy wontons I found to be more impressive as i liked the spicy sauce. As for entrees, their beef chow fun was the best I've had in hoboken. The noodle they use is different from a typical chinese restaurant. It's chewier, yet soft. I would 100% order it again. Dry sauteed string beans was delicious, like how my dad would cook it. The crispy duck was plentiful and came with fried shrimp chips which were yummy! Double cooked pork had a ton of pork and leeks and the salt and pepper squid was well fried, albeit a little chewy but I didn't mind it. I've come here before and tried various other dishes like their truffle cauliflower. All very good. I ordered two vegetarian dishes and both of them are great. The numb and spicy flavor are balanced and enjoyable. The portion of the food is large and I can only finish one dish (the cauliflower) and take the tofu to go. I got their pork ribs with plum sauce ($16) entree to-go. I enjoyed the dish - sauce was generous, and have a sweet-sour balance. The ribs was tender and pairs well with I believe dried apricots. It's good but also did not blow me away. But to be fair, this was also the first and only dish I ever ordered from here, so there may be better things on the menu. They have selection of American-Chinese food and authentic Chinese food. Prices for the authentic menu is generally about $4-5 higher than the American-Chinese food, which is a bummer. Most of the authentic meat-based entree will run you at least $20. I think this is generally the case across Chinese restaurants in the area. I might be back if I'm in the area and there are deals. read more

It had been quite a few years since my last visit to Keming, but I had enjoyed it at the time and thought I would try ordering delivery. My Wonton Soup was oddly cloudy and very plain, but the dumplings utilized delicate, thin noodles to encompass lean, tasty pork. For my entrée, I selected the Chicken with Mixed Vegetables, which included carrots, cauliflower, snap peas, red peppers, celery, and shallots, all in a rich, flavorful brown sauce. I thought the dish was excellent, and my companion liked their Pepper Steak as well. Both dishes came with white rice, which was good, but I would have preferred the option to exchange it for brown rice, even if it was at an added cost. I do not know if I would order the soup again, but I would certain add the main dish to my repertoire. It was great to see that the place was still serving up such delicious food. read more

Take out from Keming has never let me down and the more times I order and more things I try, the more I love. I do have to say, they have INCREDIBLE soup dumplings. Like, some of the best that I've had. They are giant, actually are filled with soup and the broth is pretty delicious. Besides the incredible soup dumplings, I can vouch for everything else on the menu too. Some other favorites have to be the fried rice, chicken and broccoli and lo mein. All so delicious all giant portions. Pick up and delivery have always been quick. I definitely plan to stop in and eat in person one of these days. Everything was still hot when we brought it home. Soup dumplings - okay; get 6 dumplings in an order Spicy wontons - tasty and spicy; have a good kick Sesame chicken - standard meal Chicken in garlic sauce - tasty; also has a good amount of kick to it The food was good and traditional takeout portions. I did have a little bit of sticker shock though when I got the check - the total order was $51. I didn't remember Chinese takeout being that expensive. Well, as of the writing of this review, this is the most authentic Chinese place that we've found in all of Northern Jersey. This place is a good half an hour drive from our house but I am sure we will be back. There are some lovely places in Fort Lee with good xiao long bao (soup dumplings), but that's all they really have. There are also some Korean owned Chinese places in Palisades Park, but they have Korean flavors and don't taste like authentic Chinese food. The yelp page is labeled Szechuan but there are all sorts of Chinese foods here. We had xiao long bao, xia jiao (shrimp dumpling dim sum), noodles, and xiang gan rou si (pork with tofu). All were pretty good. The xiao long bao was thick skinned but filled with delicious soup. The parking in Hoboken is a disaster, by the way. I drove around for about 20 minutes trying to find a spot. read more

We went to Keming in search of hot pot during fall of 2022, and unfortunately found out this it not something they still offer. Judging by the Yelp photos, it probably wasn't one of their more popular offerings, so it makes sense why they would remove this from their menu. We arrived around 5:30 on a Sunday night, and the place was almost completely empty. People were coming in and out of the restaurant to pick up orders, but there weren't many dine-in guests. Because of this, we were surprised by how slow the service was at times. After we were seated, we had to flag down the waiters each time we wanted to place an order or get the check. The food was tasty, which made up for the service. We had the soup dumplings, braised pork, cumin lamb, and rice cakes. The soup dumpling wrappers were on the thicker, chewier side, but the soup was really flavorful. It was served with a soy sauce-based dip instead of the traditional vinegar. The rice cakes were SO tasty - don't miss this dish! The braised pork was also very good, but a little one-note in terms of its flavor. And the cumin lamb was very cumin-y and delicious, but very dry (which I believe is intentional). All in all, a decent meal. 1 appetizer, 3 entrees (which came with 2 bowls of white rice for 2 people), +tax/tip was about $81. read more

Would give this 3.5 stars if I could. It's not at the same level as Szechuan places in Manhattan but if you're looking for decent authentic Chinese food in Hoboken it'll hit the spot. Favorites were the spicy wontons and steamed pork and cabbage dumplings. The dumplings had a thick, chewy skin that tasted homemade and I was pleasantly surprised that they had soup inside! The wontons were a nice flavorful Mala type spice but not overpowering or strong enough to actually be numbing. We also ordered the sesame chicken which had too much breading in my opinion and wasn't crispy enough. Beef lo mein was good but was drowned in oil and had about 3 strips of carrots for vegetables. The cumin lamb was also okay, a little bland and could have used more spice and flavor. They also used the thin hot pot style lamb slices instead of the thick lamb cuts that are usually in this dish. I appreciate that they have lunch specials on the weekends but the portions are also pretty small. Plus, it just comes with a side of rice. I also keep forgetting NOT to order the General Tso's chicken. More than half of it is just fried batter. We got the shrimp and broccoli but the shrimp had an old weird taste to it. We really liked the fish and tofu hot pot but it was quite pricey at $19.99 for a small portion. No regrets though because it was the best thing we ate in the restaurant. We also had the braised sweet and sour pork ribs. It was too sweet and the meat was definitely not cooked yesterday or today but maybe 6-7 days ago. The texture is the same when the meat is not at its freshest when cooked or when it has been in the refrigerator for more than five days (or much longer in the freezer when thawed). The shrimp fried rice had five pieces of shrimp and tasted like any other fried rice anywhere including the home kitchen. The service was superb. I had a really great time at Keming! We came by for dinner on a Sunday night and got a bunch of dishes (including cold sesame noodles, beef and onion, and cauliflower). The cauliflower was a bit salty, but otherwise all the dishes really hit the spot. The food came out very quickly and the service was wonderful. We were old and loyal customers of Keming until the quality went drastically downhills when we ordered (also for the last time) in 2022. I couldn't believe the cabbage that was supposed to be cooked in "bone broth" came as a plate of cabbage lying in salt water (absolutely no favor and the worse part was the cabbage wasn't even properly chopped up - and it looked so not fresh with black dots all over). That was the nail in the coffin for us and we stopped ordering altogether from keming, even though we tried to love it as we used to. Fortunately, many new authentic Szechuan places opened up in Newport Jersey City, with much nicer food and decor (like really nice), so disappointed as we were, we started going there instead. Beware of the quality of Keming cuz it has been getting worse. Hope they learn something from their competitors since they likely wont be the only Szechuan restaurant in Hoboken/newport. read more

This place is absolutely a miss for me. Their "Chinese takeout" selection of food are overly sweet drenched in sugar, corn starch, and red food coloring or overly salty. It is borderline disgusting and sickening. It's also extremely over priced. I have tried their food on three different occasions and every time I ordered I wondered why I did it with high regret. Situated on one of the main streets in Hoboken. Quaint and romantic restaurant, that being said, let's talk about the food. I didn't want to go to adventurous with the menu because this is my first time dining in this restaurant. be aware that parking is very difficult to find and if you park before 9 p.m. you do have to pay a meter parking rate. And we go back to the food. I ordered a small wonton soup and general Tao chicken which came with a small white rice. The wonton soup had a funny flavor to it. Not the broth, the broth was just okay. The wontons had a funny taste to them. I can't put my finger on it but it was not good. General chicken dish was awful. Chicken was hard and flavorless. just not a good experience at this restaurant and it's truly a shame because location is great and it is an adorable quaint little restaurant. I was really excited to try this place and I'm sadly disappointed. I'll start by saying that the people are nice, the food is quick and delivered hot/fresh. The not so great parts... I ordered vegetable lo main and they basically gave me lo main with lettuce. I'm not even kidding. What a poor substitute for cabbage and the other vegetables that one would expect in vegetable lo main. To be fair I've come across approx 3 carrot strands but still, that's nothing. The shrimp and broccoli I ordered came hot but the shrimp is so over cooked it's chewy and the flavor is gone. The sauce is very light but I would've looked past that if they hadn't overcooked the shrimp. I won't be ordering from here again sadly. read more

After some time to allow the restaurant to grow and get comfortable, this has become my favorite Chinese restroom this side of the Hudson. The food and seasoning are authentic and spot on. The service is always friendly and homey My husband and I have been there more than a dozen times and most of the times the food has been really great. A good tip (which occurs with a lot of restaurants) is that visit during down time, the quality and consistency tends to be better and more focused. This has become my favorite Chinese restaurant in Hoboken. The menu is more "authentic" than the typical American Chinese menu. You'll of course find the stand-by's (General Tso's and kung pao chicken, beef with broccoli, egg rolls, lo mein etc) but there's a good selection of more -- advanced -- Chinese dishes on offer. More pricey than a takeout place, but better. I recently came here with my family and had a multi-course dinner, which included soup dumplings (for which they seem to be getting famous), dandan noodles, and multiple entrees to share. The food all came out promptly and piping hot, and it was all delicious. Definitely a higher tier than standard Chinese. And best of all, it's BYOB with a liquor store nextdoor. The dining area is always quiet and clean, with the Uber/Door Dash drivers popping in for their orders, and you can always get a table. There's dog-friendly outdoor seating as well. If you get takeout/delivery, the portions seem to be smaller. That's been my experience, so for Chinese delivery I still get Precious for the better value. Keming is only a dine-in venue for me, where the more authentic food, table service and ambience justify the higher prices. If you get the 'Chicken Homestyle' (basically popcorn chicken with fried hot peppers)-- ask for less salt. You'll thank me. read more

I asked about a chicken dish on the menu . He replied..we don't make that anymore. I asked did they have another one that is similar. He replied...i told you we don't make it . In the end I ordered soup, hunan chicken and vegetable lo mein. Instead of vegetable lo mein I got chicken lo mein.
