    Plain Wings (~$8)
    Aya E.

Ordered: Hot Garlic Chicken - Lunch Special (~$9): with shrimp fried rice (+$2.25) and soda (+1.25) Beef Lo Mein Noodles (~$8) Plain Wings (~$8) Aya's take: I have yet to find Chinese American food that hits the spot like they have in NYC but we're definitely getting closer with Lo-Fatt-Chow! I placed my order online and it was ready for pickup when I arrived. In general, the flavors are a bit mellow and could use more salt and cooking time. The Hot Garlic Chicken had decent flavor but could've been more pronounced - it definitely needed more spice. As far as the portion, there's plenty of chicken and broccoli throughout. I decided to try the shrimp fried rice which was decent but not quite the shrimp I would've expected to be used here. They were a bit overcooked and lacked flavor. I added some soy sauce which did it justice. I love my fried rice with a brown tint (as opposed to most places doing a yellow fried rice). The Beef Lo Mein Noodles were super satisfying! They were greasy, juicy, and had plenty of beef throughout. Even the Plain Wings were surprisingly hot, crispy, and fresh. They went so well together making the ultimate cheat meal. Overall, good value, decent flavor, and super filling. Worth giving them a try if you're in the mood for some Chinese takeout!

Lunch special - chicken chow fun and fried rice with hot and sour soup

After almost 5 years of living in Hoboken, I've finally gotten the chance to check out Lo Fatt Chow...just as I'm moving out of Hoboken. I ordered a lunch special on a Monday at around 1:30. I've actually been wanting to try their wraps but I just wasn't in the mood for it but I was in the mood for some noodles, and this hit the spot. I ordered the chicken chow fun and fried rice with the hot and sour soup. The texture of the noodles were great, which I don't say often about takeout spots. I've tried other Chinese takeout places in Hoboken and this one is by far the best. Who else lets you have a lunch special with noodles AND fried rice?! Plus, the hot and sour soup was pretty solid. They add chicken to it, which is the only place I know of around here who has added meat thus far. While I wouldn't go out of my way to make the trip back here (since I don't live in town anymore), I am sad that I didn't try this place sooner.

I have never downgraded a review but there is a first for everything. Inedible general tso's chicken is the best way to describe it. You know what you love about general tso's... you dont get it here. Chicken is gummy and not crispy. It is bad. The sesame chicken may be worse. The best thing was the rice. Anyway, I was hoping it got better but as I see from the other reviews it may have gotten worse. I don't recommend.

    Rice with bug

Usually have a good experience here but just found a BUG in my food-called to ask for a refund and they were SO rude and refused to refund my meal and did NOT even apologize -will NOT be going here again and would suggest AVOIDING this place

Lo-fatt-chow: please read this!!! This spot is our go-to and will remain our go-to. However the last few times haven't been good at all. Pleaseeeee Lo-fatt-chow... come back!!! We don't want to stop ordering from you!!

    Spring roll still raw!!

The business owner replied my previous review and blame on me that "as an asian" i don't know the different between egg roll or spring roll! Now get me even more not wanting to go back and give them a chance, because clearly i ordered Spring rolls and i don't know how i get an egg roll! The point is: no matter what the name is the roll is, it is RAW and UNCOOKED!

This is the excess liquid from a beef lo mein...more like a beef noodle soup.

Food is not that great. Not sure why but everything is so watery. All my stir fry's have puddles of liquid and water at the bottom. It tastes like they just boil everything and throw soy sauce on.

I am surprised this place has amazing reviews. Their food is generally very salty and sweet. Their general tso chicken is not crispy, not fried to order, extremely sweet and salty. And texture of the chicken is very hard and dense. And lo mein is very very salty. I feel like I had to drink 5 bottles of water to feel my tongue again. Very very salty. I can't emphasize that enough. They do advertise themselves as healthier chinese food option but hmm..I doubt it. I mean I know this place is not for authentic chinese food but even for chinese American food, it's very disappointing.

I found this spot while visiting a friend in the area and was pleasantly surprised by the fair pricing for good food, with most dishes and combinations costing less the $9. However, the portion sizes have become smaller over the last 2 years, with them ditching the traditional styrofoam platter for plastic containers that are at least 20% smaller. So far, every dish I had tasted good from General Tso's for $9 to the fried Chicken with rice for $8, and the chicken lo mein for $6. Just note that the sauce on items like General Tso's or Orange Chicken is quite sweet, but still not overwhelmingly so like other restaurants tend to be. It is not a fancy spot. There are just a few tables to dine in if you like, but I would recommend going if you don't want to eat with the occasional weirdo that stops by. Unlike many Chinese restaurants, the server taking orders did greet meet me when I entered and was short but polite. He even politely explained the total when I inquired because tax is not included in the price - for some strange reason I've had others get a little annoyed by that question. So, thumbs up on that. It is located in a busy residential area. So, if you are driving, parking is not easy to find. Your best bet is to find somewhere to temporarily pull over, then run in and grab your food. Overall, this is currently one of my few preferred Chinese spots in North Jersey. Whenever I'm in the area and want Chinese, this is the only place I trust for a tasty and decent-sized meal at a fair price.

I have yet to find a Chinese takeout spot that is consistent and hits the spot. Po Wong is the closest I've come to that (still not my preferred but they do the job). I got the Chicken w Broccoli which was a bit too saucy and the flavor was a bit off. The portion was solid and the chicken was cooked well, but it needed more salt and seasoning. The broccoli was fresh and tasty, but was loaded in this sauce which took away from it. The Vegetable Fried Rice is so good! Some of the best I've had and I like that their fried rice has a brown tint to it (most places I see nowadays are yellow). The Fried Yellow Banana was sweet, well-fried, and greasy. It's a nice appetizer to share and super cheap for what you're getting. There are some hits & misses on the menu. I haven't yet found the right order that is consistently good but it did the job!
