So happy to have Kem Kem in this area! Great space to have a meet up, and pick your favorite flavor of soft serve ice cream along with some delicious Taiyaki treats. We tried the custard and Nutella flavors today for our Taiyaki's and for the soft serve we had the Ube with Earl Grey, Strawberry and cookies and cream. You get to pick a mini Oreo or a Pokey stick along with many choices of toppings. Something we are going to try next time is the signature Croffels and the pizza filled Taiyaki. The service was great, all the staff were so friendly and helpful to show us everything. I definitely will be back, this is a great local dessert spot! read more

Well, I'm happy to say I definitely found a hidden gem! First and foremost, the staff are the sweetest people and have amazing service! The menu is very simple to understand and not overwhelming with too many options. In my opinion, they have the right amount of options to choose from. I ended up getting ube soft swirl with a taiyaki filled with ube. Let's just say ube is one of my favorite flavors! I also ended up getting 7 taiyakis for the boys, we got the Oreo, custard, red bean and of course ube! These were so good we ended up ordering two more! In all this was a great experience and we can't wait for our next little adventure at Kem Kem! read more

We came in Friday evening and absolutely loved it! The inside has super cute decor and several tables. We came in and were greeted by the staff. They offer soft serve in a cup or you can get with the Taiyaki. They also have Taiyaki alone with various fillings. We got the guava milk tea swirl, ube thai tea swirl, and ube alone. We did get one with custard filled Taiyaki. Everything came out fast. You get to add some toppings, and a cookie. Our kids loved that they could pick their own. Soft serve was delicious!! Not too sweet, and it was light, especially the guava. The Taiyaki was crispy and chewy, almost chewy like a mochi texture. It was different than I expected but loved it! Our kids really loved it and we'll definitely be back. They're similar to some of the soft serve tayaiki places in the bay and taste just as good! read more

Ordered 4 taiyaki. 2 pizza and 1 matcha and 1 red bean. Didn't try their soft serve yet but I will definitely be back. Pizza ones were the favorite! Savory and delicious. Can't go wrong with the red bean (classic) Wish there was a little bit more filling or that the filling was spread more than just the middle but still great. Not the biggest fan of their matcha (little bit bitter in my opinion) The mochi texture was great, nice and chewy. I definitely would recommend eating them right away as the texture will change a little when not hot. Great service! read more

I heard about this place a few months ago. I finally went last Sunday. It was such a hot day. I got earl grey and half Ube soft serve creamy ice cream with Ube filled taiyaki. Taiyaki is Japanese fish shaped waffle like inside is like mochi it was different. I like it. The Early grey is light and Ube is my favorite flavor. It was so good. The owner is really nice lady. Stopped by this place this evening for an after dinner treat during their soft opening and had a really good experience. The place is clean, simple, and the staff was super friendly. They let us try a few samples, which was incredibly helpful since we had two kids with us who couldn't make up their minds. Flavors are pretty limited, but the soft serve they do have is pretty good--pretty similar to the frozen yogurt at Yogurt Time, which we already like a lot. Creamy and not too sweet. They also have this fish-shaped waffle thing (a Japanese treat, I think) that you can get stuffed with ice cream or on the side. It's kind of crispy on the outside and soft inside--hard to describe, but it was really good and different from your usual cone. Definitely a nice addition to the area. read more

What a welcome addition to the very limited food scene in Antelope! My kiddos convinced me to let them get dessert after dinner so I jumped on Yelp and found Kem Kem! It was close to closing on a weekend night but there were still some patrons despite it being freezing outside. The inside was clean and there were a few high top tables available to enjoy the treats and play some board games. I LOVE the big mural wall with paint that looked like sprinkles and ice cream cones. My kids each got an ice cream of their choice plus some toppings and a cookie or pocky stick, all included in the price. The gal filling the cups was also super generous with the portions! I had the matcha and ube swirled with a Taiyaki (fish shaped waffle) with no filling. The Taiyaki was freshly made and warm. The texture was perfectly crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. It complimented the ice cream well because it wasn't too sweet (ultimate Asian compliment for desserts). Matcha and ube was the way to go too, so yummy! The owner chit chatted with us and was super nice. He even let us stay a little past closing because my kids were running around on a sugar high and enjoying themselves. Super glad Kem Kem is here and will definitely be our family's go to dessert spot. read more

This is such a nice, clean, open spacious place with friendly staff. They have different flavors of the soft serve ice cream, which was a great hit with my kids. After seeing a post on our community group about this place, I decided to take my daughter. The customer service was amazing!!! We were asked if we had ever been there before. And the options on the menue were explained. My daughter ordered a chocolate soft serve in a fish waffle with Nutella inside and topped with cookies. Went to this ice cream place, and it was adorable inside--super clean with a bright, cheerful vibe. The people working there were really friendly, and the ice cream was amazing. We tried several different flavors, and my elderly grandma especially loved the milk tea soft serve--delicious and not overly sweet. The kids got the fish waffles, which were fantastic as well. Super cute place that's 2 mins away from us, which is nice because a lot of the other ice cream shops we like are 10-15 mins away. We came the first week it opened and had it again for the second time tonight. I got style #2 where the ice cream is in a cup with the waffle on top. I got ube and Thai tea (swirled together) and put Nutella in the waffle, super refreshing and just the right amount of sweetness. The waffles are made fresh in front of you . We stopped by on Friday evening and absolutely loved it! The space is super cute inside, with adorable decor and plenty of seating. As soon as we walked in, the staff welcomed us warmly, which made us feel right at home. They serve soft serve in cups or with Taiyaki (which you can also get on its own with different fillings--yum!). We tried the guava milk tea swirl, the ube Thai tea swirl, and the ube on its own. One of ours came with a custard-filled Taiyaki, and it was SO good! Everything came out quickly, and we loved that you can add toppings and a cookie. Our kids had a blast choosing their own combos--it was such a fun experience for them. The soft serve was delicious--light, not overly sweet, and super refreshing, especially the guava! And the Taiyaki? Crispy on the outside with a slightly chewy, mochi-like texture. It was different than we expected, but in the best way possible. Both items were just super tasty and exceeded expectations. This location is in the heart of downtown Sacramento. Even though the parking can get quite chaotic and busy, it was well worth the visit! I've been to a Sana Cafe in San Rafael but the first time at this location. They are franchised, independently owned coffeehouses specializing in Yemeni coffee, pasties, and light bites. The staff were direct, cordial and efficient. I asked the cashier what was their best selling drink which he said "everything is good". I believed him. However he had no recommendations. Unsolicited, the other customers in line kindly gave me some. Nice. I choose the Sana'a latte with oat milk. It was creamy and infused with cinnamon, cardamom and ginger. Luved it. Delicious. Drinking this, put me in the zone. I also ordered a ground beef fatayer and baklava. The fatayer was a savory, handheld meat pie with a yeasty dough exterior. The meat was on the dry side but by golly it had flavor. Spiced up! Not hot heat level but packed with flavor. The baklava was a tiny teeny size which surprised me and left me wanting more because it was darn tasty . They also have dessert pastries which looked all so prettily yummy behind the glass counter. Most are made with milk of some sort though. For the lactose intolerant folks, I recommend bringing a lactaid pill and going for it. The interior decor is striking. Bold gold and black colored furniture and opulent chandelier lighting fixtures dominate the room. Fancy. I'm picking up regal, posh vibes. The design aesthetics are similar in all Sana's Cafe. Plus this location is open 6am-midnight everyday. Probably one of the only urban downtown coffee houses open that late for caffeinated night owls. The cafe is a few blocks down K street from DOCO. I don't know how it's like in this area after the sun sets. Just sayin.

The entremet was the only one that didnt suck-it was delicious but again I wouldn't say anywhere in Sacramento has wowed me yet with their entremets compared to places in the bay except for the ones that ginger Elizabeth has had in the past-the flavor itself was on point, i will say the texture of the entremets have a majority layer of the jelly part-if they could perfect the variety of layers you're supposed to get in each bite I would be more impressed as thats the whole point of enjoying an entremet. Line moved at a good pace and the staff helping were nice but hurried. So we took our lil pies to go. We both liked our chosen pies. Now I know what to order if I go back to Rick's. Pies over cakes. Traditionally, it's even served at funerals as families celebrate the passing of a loved one into a better life. It's meant to be warm, rich, and meaningful. However, the café's version was far from that. The counter staff overpromised their Café de Olla, but it tasted terrible. When I asked to switch to a mocha because of how bad the coffee was, their friendly smile quickly disappeared. They didn't offer a replacement or try to make it right. Instead, I had to pay again for the mocha just to finish the coffee break with my wife. Very disappointing experience. It was an easy decision not to come back. If you're going to sell poor-quality coffee, at least stand behind it and fix the problem instead of charging customers twice. Promotes well in facebook- HELL NO not again.
