I was working on a home project, putting a ceiling fan into a location without a light. Needed a…read morebox for a retrofit installation. Not wanting to tear out drywall I wanted a fan box that laps onto the joist. My go to is usually Lowes. While picking up the box I grab some other supplies. I was not able to find what I was looking for. Lowes now has sparsely located some buttons to call for help. Help arrive after a bit of a wait. The associate was "ambushed" by three people as I watched down the aisle. He was polite and very helpful. We found the only box in a box and I was on way. In the parking I decide to open the box to see if it were complete. The box was only usable on the edge of a 2X but my joists have a 3x facing down. The box won't fit. So I went back to customer service and exchanged the box in a box for my $5.68 back. I headed off to Home Depot who had the correct Universal box. Lowe's selection for home retrofit projects is getting limited.

The current manager, however, is a jerk! Chris A. lacks social skills when it comes to customer service; and, he seems to "bully" his employees in the way he talks to them. He doesn't seem to know his own job very well, to the extent of having to ask the Assistant Mgr. about the computer, what they had in stock, where to find an item, etc... The Asst. I called back today and there was obviously no follow-up or follow through. Why can't they call back and just tell me they do not want the business vs ghosting me. I am back to waiting for another "call-back".

I walked around the store for a bit. Every aisle had a sign on the top of where things could be located. It was kind of like walking in a grocery store. I really liked that because I felt it looked really organized. I went to stand in line at the front, and the man that worked there just approached me to ask if he could help. I asked for the product I needed, and he even walked me to the aisle it was in. It wasn't there in the aisle, so he told me he would go to the back and look for it. Sure enough, he brought out a big box of them, and handed me what I needed, and also took the rest to stock them up in the aisle. He was also the one that checked us out. I would strongly discourage anyone from using this company for interior or exterior doors…read more We spent a significant amount of time detailing exactly what we needed. The salesperson who handled our order clearly did not have the experience required to properly measure, specify, or advise on door selections. He visited our site multiple times to measure and confirm details, and we went over everything thoroughly and very specifically. Despite that, critical information about material variations, sizing differences, and height changes were never disclosed, even when directly relevant to the doors we selected. When the order finally arrived, multiple doors were wrong, sizes were incorrect, and several items were damaged. Instead of taking responsibility, the salesperson attempted to shift the blame onto us--despite the fact that we clearly communicated our requirements and relied on his supposed expertise to ensure they were met. It is not the customer's job to know door construction standards and material tolerances. That is the company's responsibility. The situation required multiple escalations to management. There has been poor communication, ongoing delays, and additional costs on our end to repair and correct issues that should never have occurred in the first place. Weeks later, we are still waiting on replacement doors and resolution. This entire experience has been extremely frustrating, time-consuming, and expensive. The level of disorganization, lack of accountability, and overall incompetence we encountered was unacceptable. I would highly recommend choosing another company if you want your order handled correctly the first time.
