The Speech Pathology Group

We love the Speech Pathology Group! Our daughter (w/Autism& speech delay) has grown leaps and…read morebounds since joining this group. In one session alone our therapist, Jill, was able to have our daughter communicate in a way my husband & I weren't able to do. Every week our daughter gets so excited to see Jill. She finds a way to accomplish speech goals by making the session work for her age in a fun and motivating way. It is so rewarding for our family to see her weekly progress. When our daughter finishes her session we get practical skills we can then apply at home. If we can help apply at home what is worked on during the session I feel like our daughter can truly benefit from a team effort. I'm so grateful that the office is so inviting for my other two younger children. The waiting room has activities for them to enjoy while we wait. The staff has always been professional and kind. Over the summer we participated in a summer camp program offered by SPG. I was excited my daughter had the opportunity to mainstream with peers her age that could model communication. I liked knowing there was a speech therapist there to facilitate language and play at the camp. I often recommend the SPG to our community looking for a speech therapist. I'm forever grateful to our therapist for her dedication to see our daughter grow and develop!

Very strange, very rude and definitely not a place that I would want to work being that they treat people like this.

Child's Play Therapy Services - Occupational Therapy at its finest!

I can't praise Child's Play Therapy Services enough. Our daughter has gone to both speech and OT…read morethere for quite some time now and has gained so much from these therapies. She is so bonded with both her OT, Allison Inoles, and her SLP, Dr. Gina Pretzer. It's really beautiful to see how at home she feels in their space and she has always received the warmest welcome from every single member of the staff. Allison and Gina are both so knowledgeable, flexible, caring, and creative. They are wonderful people and exceptional practitioners. It is clear that they love what they do and have boundless patience and care for the kids. We have learned a lot about sensory strategies as well as how to support our gestalt language learner. The only problem is the our daughter never wants to leave when it's time to go and she always tries to convince her therapists to let her move in. .

The therapists and front office staff deserve five stars. Leadership's approach to families does…read morenot. As a parent of twins with developmental disabilities, I understand the importance of attendance. I also understand the reality of managing multiple therapies, medical appointments, school meetings, and life. Over time, repeated conversations about missed appointments, attendance reminders, and signing attendance acknowledgments left me feeling judged instead of supported. The final straw was accidentally leaving one week off a summer scheduling form, which led to another conversation about attendance. It wasn't about that one incident--it was the realization that this philosophy simply doesn't align with how I believe families of children with additional needs should be treated. The clinicians were wonderful, and the front desk staff were always professional and kind. My disappointment lies with leadership and the culture created by these policies. Families seeking pediatric therapy need partnership, empathy, and flexibility. Unfortunately, that wasn't our experience, and we chose to take our children elsewhere.

ACES - Fake charges to me and my insurance company.

We ended up having about 6 months of therapy with ACES. After the initial rough month or two, it…read moregot better in the sense that the BIs came on average about 4 out of 5 days. There were some BIs that we really liked. It is hit or miss! However, ABA was cut short because our little one started school. ACES ended up not being able to come to the school because the supervisors only do video visits, and this wasn't allowed at our little one's school due to privacy issues with filming small kids. The supervisors seem busy and cover many BIs, so although they said they will come in person, it did not happen. I gave four stars because it is all about shifting expectations. My son is doing great and doesn't really need them, so we can simply sit back and appreciate the BIs who played with him and for some of the education we received. Otherwise, if he did need them, I would be quite disappointed since they aren't accommodating him. I basically had to shift my entire work schedule to make ABA work, which isn't practical for many working parents. We have been on the waitlist for 4-5 months for late afternoons and weekends. We are so lucky that our little one's teacher has some experience with special needs kids! Learning ABA ourselves was also more helpful than using ACES. Despite this tempered review, I am giving four stars because I have heard from other parents that ACES is better than some of the other ABA companies in the Bay Area!

They have multiple people working to do one job-match parents with therapist or schedule sessions…read moreand do initial legwork!! And fancy titles like resource manager, assessment in charge, patient coordinator... None of them do any work but!! Parents are looped through too many people Cassandra, Kerry , Mindy etc etc . There will come a time in 4 months parents just find out the new person you are put in touch with as an "in charge" or "coordinator" to be a point person. And you just memorize new names . Meanwhile no update on child therapy, or any real work is done. Too many lazy people on payroll results in this. No work done and no one helped. And children suffer .

ACES - When I called Ace's to ask what these charges meant, I was rudely told they were because she did therapy with my son(never happened).
