Place order everything that was ordered was so dry I mean the cabbages were dry no juice jerk chicken looks burnt ordered the pork chops with gravy no gravy I understand food not being seasoned there are people who are diabetic but to pay almost $70 come on. Will not ever eat at this location again. I don't recommend

Food is so good and worth the trip. Outstanding customer service, cashier was very helpful with the menu and even helped a disable man to his car. Catfish, chicken wings and lamb chops were seasoned so good, didn't need to add the sauce that came with it. Candied yams, collard greens & baked beans were also good. However the small amount of gravy over white rice was not enough, and the muffin was sweet but dry. There's a wait after ordering because they cook it fresh, but worth it. Overall I will definitely return to try something else. Thanks!

Went on a Sunday before work & the wait wasn't long at all, maybe 5-7 mins. Price wasn't bad either; like $11 and a pop came w it too. And yes name brand pop too . I didn't get a chance to eat while hot so I had to reheat. The chicken was good; juicy and flavorful the macaroni is a no for me unfortunately it tasted box & a little saltycould've had some black pepper to tone it downthe greens were bland I tasted no seasonings whatsoever the muffin could've been cooked a little bit longer too. I plan on revisiting & trying something else soon. The customer service is great & plenty of street parking too.

Catfish, yams, mac n cheese..so good and the fish portion was very generous.

I stumbled across this little gem on a drive to Chicago. I loved everything I ordered and even ordered dessert, which I don't usually do. How can you turn down strawberry banana pudding though? Never heard of it but so glad I tried it!!!

This food was so good. I ate it slow just to enjoy it more. It was my first time but I will definitely be back!

Last time I tried turkey chops for the first time and they were delicious, moist and flavorful. The yams are always on point and so is the Mac and cheese. Each dinner easily could feed two people! CONS: 1. The corn muffins were a bit dry/overcooked and were more savory than sweet like I'm used to. (Still tasted good though) 2. The mac and cheese was a bit drier than what I was expecting but still had a good flavor! PROS: 1. Rib tips/bbq sauce had a great smoky and sweet flavor! It was also super tender. 2. Smothered cabbage and potatoes were simple and flavorful. The gravy wasn't too salty or super thick. 3. Catfish was bomb! They have a variety of lemon peppers to choose from and I was recommended the chipotle lemon pepper. It was flaky, moist, and had a good crunch! 4. SO MUCH FOOD! 5. Very kind staff :) Overall, great experience and definitely will be coming back!

I ordered the veggie skillet and it was delightful. My dad had eggs and bacon with potatoes and he said the potatoes were spicy but incredible. Most importantly, the coffee was hot and plentiful. The server even guarded my food so he didn't spill coffee in it. Never had that happen before. I did take off a star and probably should have taken two or three for the lack of masks on kitchen staff and the one lady server. They earned at least one back because their menus come with hand sanitizer. What a smart touch since those things are always the dirtiest in any restaurant.

I got the waffle combo with eggs and bacon. I also asked for a side of mama's potatoes with coffee which apparently didn't have free refills. My waitress was nice and did the best she could considering she and one other woman were the only ones waiting tables. I wouldn't recommend any large groups here because it is indeed a small , small restaurant. So the potatoes i was told were seasoned with onions, peppers and bit spicy. I didn't taste any of those things. My coffee was ok and hot with each refill. My bacon could've been crisper, the eggs were good but my waffle was cold when i got it and i sent it back. It was hot, fluffy and delicious the second time ! All in all, it's a nice spot with decent pricing and nice waitresses. I'm not sure if I'll be returning

There were eight other people in my party who ordered more complex dishes, and they all received their meals before I did. I ended up waiting about 30 minutes just to get my pancakes, and then another 30 minutes before the rest of my food came out. The restaurant wasn't busy and there seemed to be plenty of staff, so I'm not sure what caused the delay. Our server was quite inattentive throughout the experience. However, I do want to give credit to a young man who stepped in to help, his effort didn't go unnoticed and was appreciated. This wasn't my first time here, and I've heard great things about this place, which makes the experience even more disappointing. I'm unsure if I'll return, but I'm open to the possibility that this may have just been an off day. On a positive note, the restaurant was clean and it's a nice space for gatherings.

We ordered the Black Bullet party pack which comes with two pounds of brisket and two large sides. We went with fries and beans, and also added ribs, mac and cheese, and buns to the order. The brisket is still the star of the show. The spice rub on it is perfect, and it's so tender that it's unreal. The fries are exactly the kind of battered fries I like which was a pleasant surprise because I feel like not many places do them that way. The beans were okay... a little sweeter than I personally prefer, but they had huge chunks of pork in them that I definitely appreciated. We also added two slabs of ribs, and they fell right off the bone. I'm usually not a huge ribs person, but these were well cooked and flavorful. Mom loved them, and that's what really matters. We did have a few small issues with the order. We realized that our mac and cheese was unfortunately missing when we got home. They also ran out of pretzel buns midway through packing things up, so we ended up with a mix of pretzel and brioche buns instead. Honestly, we didn't mind that one too much because it gave us a chance to try both (I'd pick pretzel if I were you). When we picked up the order the place was absolutely packed, so it was hard to be upset over an honest mistake. They were clearly incredibly busy. I still don't really care for the sweeter sauce that tastes heavily like peppers to me, but their vinegar-based sauce (which I think is their original?) was much better than I remember. I'm glad to see this place is still around and still holds up after all this time. More importantly, the brisket is every bit as good as I remembered.
