We visited for the first time yesterday with friends. On Wednesdays they have a wing special. We tried crispy teriyaki and Asian sweet and spicy; both were excellent. Served with a delicious blue cheese dressing and celery. The beers were cold and the server very attentive but never felt rushed in any way! I was out with my family, who I haven't seen I awhile so we went out to eat. "Kelly's Ale House" was on my list, so I decided to take them there. It's off Sunrise Highway so you can't miss it. The parking lot was good enough. The outside made me believe this place would be interesting. It was modern enough. However inside told a different story. It was a bit run down with alot of wood finishes. It was only us in there with one other patron. The ketchup bottle on the table was a bit sticky, but sometime the best places are run down. The bartender was very friendly enough, he asked what we wanted and we ordered. There was an issue however. My family ordered draft beer and they had none. It's okay they got bottles. But there was an issue, the bottles were warm. Finally, we believe the food would win out the day. But that never happened. The grill wasn't working so we couldn't get our food. The waiter notified us of the issue. We decided to leave and go elsewhere. Needless to say, they were friendly, but first impressions matter. And when you can't goto a bar and get food, beer, or cleanliness, is it really a bar? read more

The food the service and the atmosphere is absolutely a great bar/ relaxing after work experience. A place to go with friends and family if you want to go out and enjoy a nice brew with the wings they have are absolutely a must! The food is good here. Excellent food & service!! This venue is great! Ross begins the bar was serving up our drinks and food late night while we enjoyed a table in the bar area. A singer/guitarist was serenading us with live music on Saturday night. The mussels are excellent! The white wine garlic sauce is the best for enjoying the fresh flavors in my opinion. They serve with toasty garlic bread to dip up the sauce. We also shared the buffalo chicken wrap and did sweet potato fries which I highly recommend! I'll give 3 stars because the food is fantastic! We have been coming here for years. It is one of our favorite places to go mid way between friends. However, tonight was unbelievable. First, the place reeked like cigars from the next-door cigar place. My friends arrived and we're not asked if they wanted to drink for at least 10 to 15 minutes. The place was not busy. We asked for a pretzel from the menu and we got a straight out nasty no, we don't have pretzels. Then appetizers that were requested one did not show up. The waitress had a bit of an attitude was talking about other customers right behind us. When the bill was paid, a tip was given that was appropriate to the behavior that was received. The waitress had the gall to come over and asked what was wrong with the service. She was rude, obnoxious, and forgetful. Not what we are used to in this place we always come to. Something needs to be done about the cigar smell. Forgot to mention , the waitre had the gall to come back and ask what was wrong with the service that you gave me such a tip! Was she kidding or not? The service was horrible she had to know it we usually tip quite generously, however, tonight was beyond not exceptional, and tipped accordingly to double the tax. She had the gall to ask why?? Not appropriate? Unfortunately, not a place we will be going back to and not a constant place for my family and I. Very sad to see this all transpire! read more

If I could give it a -10, I would. We first walked in and we smelled cigar. That's when we should've walked out. There's a cigar place right next to it. Then we sat down. I ordered chili. It was pretty much meat pie. It definitely was not chili. I took one bite. I did not finish it. As we were walking out. The radiator was all broken, which is a fire hazard. I hope they don't use that in the winter time. They still charge us for the chili, even though he saw that I only took one spoonful, that place should be shut down that place. This place is my go to! Above par bar food and above par service! Monica is the sweetest server there is and the bartenders are great! They have specials for every day of the week and a really good happy hour at the bar. Game days are so fun! They have raffles with cool prizes, and all the customers are excited, it's a great time! Also the outside seating that nobody ever sits at in the back is really nice, cute decor for the holidays and season changes, casual dark wood dining area. I recommend this place 100x over. I have never been here before, and only found it because Ed Ryan, who I used to go see in the early 2000's was scheduled to play there and I figured I would go see him perform. The staff was friendly and attentive. We were seated immediately and along came a great tasting pint of Guinness. Then the food came. Large portions, great flavor. Tried this place out the other day and it didn't disappoint. Sat at the bar for the happy hour menu and had a couple drinks. The wings were typical bar wings. I got the steak sandwich which was good but felt like it was missing something. My wife got the corned beef/pastrami sandwich which she said was good. We stopped in for the first time last night. They had a prime rib special which the wife got and found it to be a little bit fatty but for the price with asparagus and mashed potatoes as sides and a delicious salad with spinach it was a pretty good deal. Monica treated us well and kept our drinks full. They have a really good menu including bangers and mash, meatloaf, and shepherds, pie chili dogs amongst others which we are looking forward to trying out the next time we visit which will be real soon. read more

Pro tip: Don't be in a rush or go elsewhere. I had my doubts when we parked and walked into this place. It is really nothing much to look at from the outside, but once you get in, you'll feel better about the decision to visit Kelly's Ale House. This is my sister's regular spot and I can see why she enjoys herself weekly at KAH. Since she is a regular, service was friendly and drinks were flowing. I see non-locals complaining on service, and I could see how this could be a nightmare for some. We sat for 10 minutes before anyone even said hello to us, so I was nervous at first, seeing workers just hanging at the back end of the bar and only one server taking care of the restaurant, but once initial contact was made, all was good. They just took forever to get us anything besides drinks. Walked in at 5:50pm and our actual meals weren't in front of us until 8pm. That was pretty nuts, but the solo musician was fantastic and we had a few wings as an appetizer, but some of us were growing impatient, while the rest of us were just enjoying the vibe. Decent craft beer list, and plenty of mixed drinks with limited wine menu (don't ask what winery...just order). I had to order the Kelly burger and it was super tasty with a fantastic side salad to boot. Ordered medium and it was more medium-well, but very juicy, so that's on me. Order medium rare if you need majority to be pink. I would gladly return for the fun music, tasty wings (extra hot no so much) and fantastic meal. read more

For those of us that live near Bohemia and Kelly's Ale House ... Brad and I stopped in today. It's been a year since I was able to go to my favorite neighborhood spot. It was just as comfortable as putting on a pair of well worn jeans. So much has happened over this past year. I'm so happy that we are all on the mend. It was great to see owner and hard working family man Jim Kelly and Ross the Boss, a most wonderful Barkeep. I had been planning my delight for quite a while now. Happy to report the food was great as always.... Most delicious lump crab cake that had a huge amount of crab... go figure... and delicious wings with sweet and spicy Thai chili sauce. The Shepherds Pie, made with ground beef simply delicious. We had a wonderful time and did not feel compromised. read more

First round of 2 coors lights, one was ice cold and the other warm. Bartender made the quick adjustment and threw some on ice. Which was great. Next few we had we're pretty cold after that. Started with some poutine and wings: Poutine was fine. My Canadian wife identified the cheese as real curds. I'll have to take her word for it as my resident expert on all things Canadian. Wings were cooked nice but the recommended Asian sweet and spicy left a lot to be desired. Evening took a turn after we lost our bartenders attention. No bigger foul than leaving patrons' drinks empty too long. Especially multiple times. ESPECIALLY when it's bottled beer. Twist off! And they're already on ice!!! Half way between the fridge and my place setting. I'm ranting... The two gentlemen at the opposite end of were well served. Eventually our beers were replenished and we ordered a few more apps. Some tid bits and an order of Irish spring rolls I had seen the gentleman sitting on top of me at the bar had ordered. The tid bits were basically small pat roast slices after cooked. Unevenly cooked. Medium Raw in the middle well done on the outside. I asked for medium, there was some medium. Meat was marinated something that reminded me of cloves, soy and Lea and Perrins. The spring rolls had not looked as appetizing as the first time I had seen them. Either the cooks had changed or the gentleman to my left was not sitting as close as I had initially felt... pretty sure a shift change in the kitchen was to blame. But those were entirely over cooked and the plate was jazzed up with siracha over the thousand island. I had a little bit of a cold... could have been ketchup. But I eat Reubens for the thousand island. We wrapped up and got out of there. Don't see ourselves going back anytime soon. More attention to the customers and not your friends. read more

Went to Kelly's Ale House for the first time last night and I can tell you I'll be going back. The food was great - I had prime rib philly cheese steak sandwich and my friend had the bangers & mash. Mine was delicious and they had a gluten free bun for me - had the coleslaw because the fries were fried with other items (so not gluten free) and that was delicious also. The bangers & mash was Irish sausages with a side of freshly cooked spinach, mashed potatoes and gravy. She said it was great. Service was great, drinks were cheap for happy hour (if you eat in the bar area) and the restaurant side was very nice. Definitely recommend! read more

food was actually really good, reason for 2 stars due to surprise when i saw a credit card surcharge on my bill. It sucks because I enjoyed the food, bartender was really nice and made good drinks, but now I may not return unless I have cash on hand because they surcharge debit/credit card customers.... Its funny because we went there on a weekday evening around 9pm and the bartender was entering all her check books for the evening and I noticed at least 80% of the checks were paid in credit card so there business relies on credit card customers... So let's surcharge 80% of our customers. Also you should be upfront with these charges!!! Even better just offer cash customers discount and properly price your menu! read more
