One room is used as an office/library and the other is my art studio. In my studio, I needed a floor that could stand up to water and paint drips. So far, so good. We had a bit of a time constraint in the office/library. We were having an office desk/storage system custom built to fit the space and the floor had to be done before the installation. Jacob arrived early on a Monday and completed the two rooms by about lunchtime. He worked alone but quickly and efficiently. Both areas were cleaned up well too. We could tell when the job was finished that Jacob was a meticulous craftsperson and paid attention to all the details. The floors were beautiful and the installation exceeded our expectations. They handled it with absolute precision, almost invisible seams and they ensured the seam placement was discreet and away from high visibility areas. The project involved using my existing cherry cabinets, adding a white subway tile backsplash and the Quartzite countertop, a new sink and faucet. I was impressed with the scheduling of the different trades that kept the project running smoothly and on time. They took great care to protect my floor and cabinets. They do not even help you pick colors or materials that will go together or help avoid dark colors in a small space. You are on your own! They did listen to the changes we wanted in cabinet height and placement, but they did not want to give their opinion on anything, which I kind of understand, but we asked for their thoughts and opinions. The employees: the two lead guys, hmm.. well at first Grayson was great to work with, at the end of the job he wasn't even nice and tried to not complete work to be done (It did get done, but he was not happy about doing it) The majority of the workers were great and efficient, they were very good about cleaning up each night. The lead, Al, was a sexist jerk. He often spoke to my son, instead of me, while I was standing right there! If my husband was home, he ignored me completely, until one of the men would call him on it. He whined when I pointed out that he missed putting up a trim piece, he said, "No one will notice". One of the other employees (the owner's son) said, "I cut a trim piece for that location, it's going on." Al was annoyed, but it was done. Dan, the owner came by twice and is a very nice man and he is very knowledgable. His son and they other crew were really good. The salesman Larry, very nice man but he is a salesman and should probably go to a few construction projects before he sells things can't/won/t be provided. Grayson was professional for the most part, it was just at the end, when he just wanted to be done (I get that, I wanted it done, too), that he wasn't. Al was a jerk! He spoke down to me and grumbled a lot. The craftsmanship was fantastic!! If I have one complaint, it is that there is a couple of bumps under my flooring, most likely the floors weren't checked or swept before the flooring was put in.
