Stackable LG 8100 Series washer on the bottom.
    Bruce A.

Our LG washing machine made a weird sound and wouldn't drain. I called three repairmen before I called Appliance Clinic. They were all booked 2-4 weeks out and quoted $350 (or more) if it needed a drain pump. Appliance Clinic (Hunter) was amazing and didn't flinch at the fact there was a dryer stacked on top: he fixed it from the bottom. $256 including tax and I didn't have to go to the laundromat again, which saved even more time andAppliance Clinic is honest, professional, and friendly.

With our fridge and freezer completely stuffed for the holiday, panic set in immediately. After another company canceled on us last minute and the LG website trapped us in an automated loop with no human help, we called True North. That is when our luck finally changed. Jonathan is an absolute legend. Not only did he squeeze us into his schedule at the end of a very long Friday, but the level of care he showed was unmatched. He drove to Portland to pick up the specific motor fan we needed, battled brutal Friday evening traffic, and still showed up at our door at 7:00 PM to get us up and running. Beyond just the repair, he actually coached us over the phone throughout the day--telling us how to rig up a temporary fan on the condenser to prevent the unit from burning out (which saved us a massive repair bill) and ensuring we didn't lose any of our holiday food. Note: Sending a copy of the error report and product label helped him make the diagnosis off site. In a world of automated prompts and cancellations, the human interaction, dedication, and genuine care we received from Jonathan were priceless. You saved our Thanksgiving. Thank you!

I don't feel compelled to write a review very often. So when I do, I make a point to write one…read more I've felt I needed to write one a long time ago. Just have been so busy. When i first went into the store I knew i didn't want to lease anything. Just wanted to find something to pay off within the cash price months. What is prompting this review is an employee of yours- Victoria. - I am a very headstrong, and quick worker. She helped me pick out what i liked. and when it came to the paperwork. She zoomed through this paperwork (with efficiency!!!) Her multi tasking skills are amazing. She was able to take this phone call, and get my stuff done quickly. (she was the only 1 in the store at that time.) I got my couch set within 4 days. Had this couch for 2 weeks. I held onto this couch longer than i wanted to see if it changed at all. But, this couch ended up being very hard. and extremely uncomfortable. I called Victoria and let her know. And, within 2 days they were there to pick it back up and brought me my new one i picked out. She didn't make me feel bad for wanting to exchange it. I've since had my new couch, and my kids and I have really enjoyed it! I've never been shocked at how someone works before. Because i hold a pretty high standard of work ethic myself. But, to see her work so quickly and so efficient at the same time....pleasantly surprised me. I wasn't sure where to write this review and it really count. So, im starting here. The only Aarons i'll go to is the store where Victoria works. I went to the other one in Vancouver, and I really didn't receive the same level of care. In fact I had to approach them first. Victoria and Jennifer really make you feel good about renting from you guys, while caring as well. They really are such a great team. I hope you guys are able to see that too!

I asked if he wanted to hear the sound. He did not. I left him to it. 35 or so minutes later, he said that he cleaned debris from the pumps, showed me a shard of glass, and when I listened to it running for a few seconds, the sound seemed to be gone. Great. Then he said it would be $245, his minimum labor charge. That sounded rather steep to me. He lowered it to $220 (after pretending to text a boss, which I don't think he has), but that was still more than I felt was fair for the work he did. The next time I ran a load of dishes the sound was there again. I emailed him, attaching a short video of the noise happening, and he wrote that he would come by to check it out. I asked for times that would work for him, and at that point he stopped replying. After that, I asked for a partial refund. Again, no response. I feel a bit ripped off, paying $220 when the problem wasn't even resolved. So, no, I cannot recommend Davyd/PDX Repair. I suggest looking for a more honorable, experienced appliance repair person, as I will the next time I need one.

After a poor experience with another Samsung authorized service provider (there are two in the Portland, Oregon area), I escalated the repair issue to the Samsung Americas CEO office, and Tekniton was assigned to do the repair. From the start, this company was very good (not perfect) at communication. When I told the scheduler that the issue wasn't listed as one of the failure modes on Samsung's website, she indicated that Tekniton would need to send out a technician to confirm the part that needed to be replaced. Technicians called before they came out. One minor communication incident occurred when Tekniton sent an SMS message to my home phone, which can't display SMS messages. Since I'd escalated the repair with Samsung, I received two E-mails from Samsung that the panel was available and that Tekniton was trying to schedule the repair, so I called Tekniton to get the repair scheduled. The repair required two different visits from two different technicians. The first confirmed that the LCD panel needed to be replaced, and informed me that the part was on backorder through Samsung service parts. Three weeks later, when the panel became available to do the repair, a second technician was scheduled. I've dealt with several different appliance repair providers over the past 18 years, and Tekniton is definitely one of the better companies I've worked with.

I asked if we could test a working foot controller to rule it out as an issue. The foot controller they plugged in not only did not work but caused the machine to spark! I was told I can leave my machine and get a free estimate in 5-6 weeks. Through further discussion, I was encouraged to purchase a new, more expensive brand of machine because evidently Singer and Brother machines are cheap crap from China. (Their sentiment, not mine. I've sewed on a Singer all my life and so has my mother.) I opted not to leave my machine. Once home, I ordered a new foot controller online which just arrived and solved my problem. Also ordered some sewing machine oil and now plan to do maintenance myself. I was hoping to support a local small business and maybe build a relationship for future service but the way they handled my situation has guaranteed I'll be looking elsewhere in the future.
