Yurii and his son from Olys Construction came the same day I reached out for the quote, and both were very friendly and personable, and gave me a fair price on the spot (that was significantly less than the other bids, too!). Yurii works very cleanly and efficiently, and while sometimes there was a very small communication barrier, Yurii was able to translate his native Ukrainian to English on his phone, and everything went very smoothly! The project took three days, and we love our new kitchen backsplash! The pattern is immaculate, and makes such a great statement in our kitchen. It involved not only sanding and refinishing, but leveling the kitchen floors and lacing in new wood with the old in multiple places, several patches, installing all new baseboards, and some creative problem-solving to work the quarter round around the floor vents. He also built a new cover for my crawl space entry to match the flooring around it. Throughout the job, Mike was responsive, friendly, patient, respectful, and worked with a high level of integrity and transparency. He was genuinely fantastic to work with - I never felt like I was being brushed off or taken advantage of (as opposed to some other contractors I've encountered).
