The upstairs of our new house had cream-colored carpeting that was definitely starting to look its age. I had hoped for fir underneath, but it was a hodgepodge of mostly plywood. He replaced it all with red oak so it matches our downstairs. It's so beautiful! He always kept us in the loop and even worked late days so we could maximize our time out of the house. We've had AVA Construction refinish the hardwood floors in two of our 1950s homes, one in 2019 and one recently, and replace the hardwood floors in our 1910 home in 2014. Everything is holding up great. They have recently installed vinyl interlocking tile flooring in the two older homes (our rentals) and we are extremely pleased. I would not hesitate to recommend or secure their services in the future. They provide superior quality and value; they are professional, knowledgeable, reliable, and honest. Oh, I'd trust any reference they provide, one thing we've learned from working with talented service professional, they know other equally talented service providers!!! Aleksey did such an unbelievable job on my floors! He even worked over Thanksgiving week! He and his crew are A-plus-plus on every single level! He is a true craftsman. The other contractors said they couldn't find fir wood, but he did and cut it to match the damaged portions of a flooded bathroom and hallway, then sanded the rest of my floors and stained and polished it all so it matches. It is so beautiful and he was super responsive and extremely helpful. If you need a new hardwood floor or want to make your floor new again, call this guy! Absolutely amazing work!!!! read more

Alexey did an amazing job with our hardwood floors. Our floors were over 20 years old with many deep scratches, gaps, and water damage. Our floors look brand new again, thanks to Alexey. .He took the time to hang plastic to block off dust from entering other rooms. He left our home clean with minimal dust. Aleksey did an excellent job with Acacia hardwood flooring at my home. I was planning to do nail-in installation, but he advised me that we should do glue assist with nail-in due to the bigger size of plank for code. He has been a pleasure to work with and the flooring came out beautiful (pictures attached). Aleksey did the job considering my budget situation and did a very high quality installation. I followed a yelp review to Angie's list and saw even more rave reviews for Aleksey. He lived up to them all. Funny, nice, honest and hardworking like you cannot usually really on from contractors. But unlike diy, he is super fast and motivated to do it well just because he aims to please his customers, which is very apparent. Great communication, goes above and beyond... Before you discount AVA due to the lack of Yelp reviews, please check his feedback on Angie's List - the dude is a beast! :-) He has over 100+ A reviews there and he will not do you wrong if you are looking at installing or refinishing hardwood floors. We would give him our highest recommendation. This is the second job he has done for us and we've now used him for a big job installing / refinishing hardwood floors across the first floor of our house. This job involved layering in new wood against existing hardwoods so the transition was seamless and then staining the whole floor to match. He also completed a small job installing laminate flooring on our second floor. His work on both jobs was excellent. It's great when you meet with a contractor and he walks you through the job, the exact steps involved, the timeline to get it to completion and then he actually executes on his timeline! Alesky will not disappoint, he got rid of the stains and left our home with like new floors. He does superior work and stays on schedule even if it requires him to bring in help. My floors look better than they did when they were first put in 13 years ago. I am sure they will last 20 years or more. Every flaw is gone and the floor looks amazing.
