No dogs allowed. That means you Wrinkles!! Dogs allowed on the Miller Knox Shoreline - just not the small sandy part here - known as Keller Beach. With all the red algae and dead fish I was curious if there was anything to be seen here. Everything was clean and nothing like what happened in Lake Merritt. Some picnic tables and lots of areas to hang and enjoy the bridge views. Maybe during the heat wave you stayed indoors - well, yesterday was a great opportunity to get outside again if your very furry and tend to overheat. Parking along the main road. No issues. Probably a very underrated beach. Some lucky people have single family homes that overlook the area up the hill a bit. Wow - that would be a great place to live.

Such a peaceful little beach! Who knew that a hidden gem like this would be tucked away in Point Richmond?! It's a beach but not the kind of beach that you'd find in Marin or Pacifica. This is what you'd call a local beach. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of a true coastal beach. But what it lacks in beauty, it makes up for in character. It's super secluded with great views of the Richmond-San Rafael bridge. This beach also connects to Miller Knox Regional Park which has some nice walking trails, picnic areas, and recreational space. This beach does have a small picnic area, but there's only a few tables. You can either park on the side of the road or at Miller Knox. I stopped here to have lunch after hiking a few trails nearby. I was shocked to see virtually nobody here on a late Saturday afternoon. It was super relaxing and peaceful. It was a cloudy day but the peacefulness is what made it so enjoyable for me. Plus, I saw so many cute little squirrels. The squirrels run rampant here. Just keep an eye on your food because they're pretty fast. I did see one couple who were actually in the water, so I guess it's swimmable. This is more of a beach that I'd admire from afar, personally. It's nice to have a local beach around that doesn't require me to cross over a bridge. Really happy that I stumbled across this gem.

A must visit if you like Cooler Breeze, Open space, View of San Rafael Bridge, walking, hiking, biking, or simply just enjoying nature.

This is truly a hidden Gem. It was our first time here and we were shocked by how beautiful it is. Ocean view, nice trails, lake for the ducks. :0) There was a nice old tunnel that led us to this gorgeous view. It was the perfect weather also. While the inland was in their high 80"s, here it was low 70's. What's ready good about this place is.......There's hardly anyone here. During this pandemic, it's probably the most important thing to consider. Today, parking was not a problem. The place is huge that even if there is a large crowd......there's enough space to social distance. The road is narrow after the tunnel, but if you continue to follow it after the park, it will take you to place we're you find it gorgeous to live in.

Weow! So sad I didn't discover this place earlier! Usually, when my friends and I think 'beach' or 'large body of water', we think of San Fran, but we never thought about areas in the Richmond. Prior to deciding on a beach to go to, I researched which areas had the best air quality on the Purple Air website. With the 2 large wildfires burning in the North Bay and South bay at the time (8/29/2020), the quality of the air was moderate to unhealthy in the Bay Area. There were a few places with acceptable AQ; Richmond and San Rafael. I typed in beaches on yelp and a few popped up. It was either Mcnear's or Keller beach. My friends and I wanted a spot to chillax, eat and watch the sunset. Keller Beach seemed like the perfect place for that and it was much closer to home! My friends and I drove here after getting food in Berkeley (15 min drive). We parked up top along the road and we walked down from where you see a telephone booth (across from the tunnel). We passed by a few benches and tables and there's also a restroom off to the side. Walking further down the steps, we ended up on the beach which is quite small, but pretty damn mighty. There were a few people hanging out by the water and it didn't smell of smoke one bit, only of kelp and seaweed! We posted up with our beach mat near a grassy patch close to the water. It was a little chilly on a Saturday night, so we brought blankets to insulate. The views of the ocean and sky paired well with my boba and sushiburrito I had. You can see part of the Golden Gate Bridge and to the far left you can see the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge. The best part was the sun beginning to set. We didn't get to see it fully set due to the clouds but the sun cast a warm orange glow over the clouds; it was so serene and tranquil. It was a great spot to recharge, reset your mind and be at peace with nature. As the sun was setting, a group of about 20 people begin to gather near us. It seems we had gotten caught up with a night swim meet up. My friends and I didn't really test the waters but I overheard from a swimmer that the water was actually warmer than the air. Some were in regular swim suits and others were in wet suits. It was a cool being able to watch the swimmers challenge themselves to swim out to the bay and come back. I would love to come back here on a warmer and clear day to see the sun set over the water again and maybe even explore the Point Richmond area a little more. Highly recommend this hidden gem!!

Beach? Umm no But its an amazing place to go chill at with a large group, go trailing your dog and even spend time with your significant other there I don't see if you wanted to be romantic. The backdrop is gorgeous. Homes on the hillside are very picturesque. The bridges are beautiful to look at and of course the skyline of the beautiful San Francisco. It has a lot grass area. It has a lot of trees. But also a lot of open space to where you can literally play football

A nice local spot!! I brought my preschooler last weekend for about an hour. He had fun playing in the sand and building sand castles. Quite a few families were there too. Plenty of parking on the street, with a short walk down to the beach. I appreciate that this local spot does weekly water testing.

Used to visit as a child with my family and I have great memories here ! Usually pretty cold but the Bay Area doesn't have many beaches so we appreciate the ones we do have haha. Has multiple restrooms , on the other side of the hill they have a boat storage area , along with beautiful waterfront houses. Multiple people in the surrounding area constant foot traffic & cars are always passing through. Great spot to get away and just chill out with the kids or by yourself ! I've always seen dogs here on the streets not sure if they allow them near the beach. Hopefully you can make some great memories here ! It's a beautiful place hope you enjoy! Thanks for reading hope this helps !

A little piece of heaven in Point Richmond. Its a small beach but still perfect for family BBQs, picnics, and beach days. Love coming out here. There's even a little walking trail alongside the water. Look out over and see the city, a glimpse of Golden Gate, and the bridge to Marin/San Rafael. I'm so glad the Point Richmond has continued to keep up this wonderful nature spot. It adds to the gem of this little town. So come out to relax, have fun, and get a sweet tan. Oh and bring a jacket. It's windy over here no matter what the temperature!

Saturday, 2/06/2021 - Accidently found this little hidden beach called Keller Beach. No beach like Southern CA, but still a cute, small, quiet beach with benches/tables, a BBQ grill, open bathrooms that is fully stocked and cleaned, and a beautiful park on the other side. Nice place to take a stroll to get some fresh sea air. People were very nice. Some has masks on, while others did not. Seeing little children play together and people happily enjoying themselves was so beautiful. Got to enjoy today's CA winter weather in the Bay area in this sunshine and got my Vitamin D in finally!

What a view from my hike yes accomplishment!

Went on a Morning Hike today Gorgeous love Keller Beach view! Saturday morning hikes are the best they are hardy any people early in the mornings around 8am! Easy trails and the hike up is not long at at but for-sure you break a sweat! There are no restrooms up on the hill so make sure to use the restroom at the park area. #SelfCare

A fun local spot, affording one some sun and meditative lapping waves. Local little secret here. 9 times out of 10, I do hear a lot of Spanish. There are almost always families present. Personally, I love it and speak the language, but it's not necessarily an environment that all may find "fun".

    Luis S.

Perfect place to relax! You got it all from swimming, hiking, and picnic. Best place to watch the tides and sunset. Come take care of your mental health and destress at Keller's Beach!
