Barbara and Jay Vincent Park in Richmond has abundant park space abutting the water. It is a fun place to sit and watch airplanes, including seaplanes, as they take-off or land in and around the Bay Area. Walking paths through the park are smooth and there is abundant space to sit, be it on a grassy area or a bench. Each of my visits here has been via foot and I have found access to be a non-issue. read more

** The following review reflects my experience DURING the COVID-19 pandemic. ** I'm not sure what the proper analogy is for this six-acre park other than describe it as a Q-Tip, well, at least the fuzzy end of one. It's really a patch of green with a small beach and a walking trail around its perimeter on a promontory that juts out from Richmond's Inner Harbor on Marina Bay Parkway. What makes it unique is the naked visibility of the park which you can see from almost all points around the harbor (photo: https://bit.ly/2XuHS5F). With the playground facilities, picnic areas, and usable public restrooms, the space has been obviously designed for local families, but you can find old Yelpers here periodically for lack of alternative activities during a pandemic. This is a cute little park with way too many Canadian Geese and they are gross. But, I don't go on the grass. I just walk around the paved area. It's fine, never disappointed and when there are way too many people we still have space to keep our distance. Fun times. If you want to come and see the grand outdoors, then this is a great spot to do so. read more

What keeps this place secret is that it's out of the way & that it's in the City of Richmond. Yeah, Richmond. While Richmond may have earned a certain reputation from stories of violence on the TV news, that's not how it is here. Barbara & Jay Vincent Park is a quiet, kid-friendly park with beautiful panoramic views of the Bay & Richmond Harbor. There's a big playground, picnic tables, clean restrooms, plenty of parking & art installations that are part of the Rosie the Riveter WWII Home Front. An added bonus is that this park isn't alone. Located on the Bay Trail, there are 4 more waterfront parks nearby along the trail. All in the City of Richmond. It's just not the Richmond most people know from the TV news. & that's the secret. read more

How odd and strange that, to date, this park has never been reviewed. http://www.pointrichmond.com/baytrail/MarinaBay/MarinaBayTrailGuideLtr.pdf I brought a group of international women and escorted them about the Richmond marina recently, and wanted to bring their kids to Barbara and Jay Vincent Park, at the very tippy tip of the Richmond marina. If one were to head onto 580West from the Berkeley area (toward Marin), exit Marina Bay Parkway, and head straight SOUTH..... stay on the very same street... don't veer anywhere, and your car will make it here.... the road heads toward the water and then hugs the south end of the marina via Peninsula Dr, which MBP becomes after about 2 miles. An alternative (eco-friendly and healthier) alternative would be to ride from the Bay Trail access along Emeryville or Berkeley marinas and wrap around Costco, Pt. Isabel and keep heading west.. you will also get here by this means. This is the perfect venue for a large outdoor party, as the park is super outfitted with multiple grills and many cemented round tables and benches for seating. The views of the Bay and the play structure for the kids are a huge attraction of this park. There are also restroom facilities on site. Vincent Park is very large, with rolling hills for frisbee and whatever group games, and the path along the western perimeter is used for strollers, joggers, bikers, etc... There is even a small outlet of a beach usually known to only locals.. I have spotted many a sunbather and napper along the sunny beach area. An estimated 15 minutes from the 80/580 turnoff, this park with the gorgeous views of the Bay is one local secret I'm ready to share!!! read more

Great area that's not so frequented by people other than locals. I'm sitting here, it's Sunday afternoon, 70 degrees, sunny and breezy and there are two of us on this playground and two older (preteens) playing in the grassy patch next to the playground and that's it. Right next to the bay walking trail that leads to Costco, if you walk east, or to the Richmond Marina, if you walk down a different path. Playground has two structures suitable for 3-8 year olds. Also includes small parking lot (fits 15 cars maybe), picnic tables, garbage cans, little grills and one set of restrooms. Some cleaning could do this park some good. There's some wear and tear and the garbage can get out control. Otherwise, our family loves this place! read more

**I'm commenting on the walking trail from Rosie the Riveter to Point Isabel rather than this specific park, because I don't know how better to forewarn others who might want to use the trail. The trail is flat concrete, without many opportunities for shade. Should have been fine for a walk though. Mask-wearing (on the face, not the chin) was about 50%. And there's an old shirtless guy on a bike making sheep noises at whoever has on a mask. This seems to be his regular entertainment. Safe, peaceful enjoyment of the outdoors lies elsewhere. read more

The Richmond shoreline is easily one of the most underappreciated stretches of the bay. The Richmond Bay Trail offers miles of waterfront with sweeping views and fresh breeze, while the Marina offers uninterrupted strolls along picturesque docks. All along the immaculately landscaped path to the Rosie the Riveter Museum at the site of the famous Ford plant that was refitted to support the WWII war effort, you will find monuments and signs telling the storied past of this area. If you have kids, the Barbara and Jay Vincent Park has a great little playground and green spaces. It is an excellent and picturesque place to scoot. read more

When I use to love in the area I use to come to this park a lot. The park can get cold on fall days and pretty warm on warmer days - so make sure to bring a jacket. There is a playground for small children but older children can enjoy it as well. The park is clean and there is a large field area. Definitely one of my go to parks! read more

This little park along the Richmond harbor has great views of San Francisco Bay and more. Getting to this park is easy once you exit off of Westbound I-580 using the Marina Parkway exit. The grass is always green, there's always families around during the weekends on sunny days, and it's located along the East Bay Trail. read more

To overuse a cliche - a hidden gem! Playground, bathrooms, bay trail, great views, parking lot. There is even a little sandy beach! We came last night around sunset for family photos, and will be back for beach fun on the next hot afternoon. read more

One of my secret getaways on my lunch break. This park is a little hidden jewel that is sure to please. The grass is always green and soft (a tad on the wet side though, beware). There are bathroom facilities, but I've never been in them to say for sure how maintained they are. This is also a secret windsurfing spot. Plenty of room to rig, a bit of a rocky beach to launch from, otherwise pretty tame. read more

My Daughters and I have been freequenting this park for a year now and love it. The views and all the possible recreational activities here really suit us. I kiteboard here, we ride bikes on the beautiful bike trail on the water overlooking the whole bay, we play in the playground, use the BBQ area, and most of all we love stand up paddle boarding here because we can go for a bike ride afterwards and have a bite to eat at Amini's Deli or Salute's on the other side of the Marina. We like it so much that we are opening up a stand up paddle rental and lessons business here at the park. DONT COME HERE FOR THE PLAYGROUND!!!!! Yes, this is a place that is kinda hidden and forgotten about in Richmond and yet very beautiful. BUT... The playground is very disappointing and FORGOTTEN about as well. Colors are very faded. Rust coming up in the climbing area of the structure. Black ugly and old tagged areas now faded. Sand! Isn't sand and outdated thing and dangerous?!! I can't count how many pieces of garbage I saw in the San just a few hours ago. Bottle caps, plastic pieces, glass looking pieces, ugh. The swing area is not even fun. So dangerous for little ones. Please fix this park!!! read more
